New Upgrade (Part 2)

It was now evening.

Alvin had just finished recovering his stamina and was excitedly watching his attributes. The high intensity training today had surprisingly allowed him to increase both his agility and Vitality by 1 point. His proficiency in the Basic Sword Arts had also successfully promoted into the advanced stage. Even though he knew that this result was due to the fact that this was the first time this body was going through such systematic high intensity training, he was still looking forward to the amount of progress that this would bring him. This is what was causing his excitement now.

He just couldn't wait for the start of tomorrow's training.

On the next day, according to routine, Alvin went through his basic sword training in the morning with Aaron and continued his hunting with Byakko in the afternoon.

This afternoon, to maximize the effects of Byakko's breakthrough to Level 2 Mythological Beast, he hunted by himself and broke through to Level 7 and added his free Attribute Points to strength, Agility and Stamina before allowing Byakko to finally accumulate the remaining points to breakthrough.

He was now in the middle parts of the forest watching Byakko become a Level 2 Mythological Beast!

Currently, a blue glowing rune was floating on top of Byakko's head. This was the rune that held the contract between Alvin and Byakko as well as the catalyst for the White Tiger's evolution. This rune was now experiencing some changes due to Byakko's new evolution.

The process of the rune's change lasted for about twenty minutes after which a glowing beam shot from it and entered the part of the contract in Alvin's soul.

Suddenly, an alarm from the system rang in Alvin's ears;

[Ding! Warning, Warning! Contract Rune is being infected by unknown energy. This might be very detrimental to the safety of player. Player is advised to terminate this process at once.]

[Does player wish to terminate this process now?]

Alvin resolutely answered 'NO!'

This was because he knew that this change will be beneficial to him. Alvin immediately sat cross-legged experiencing a pleasant sensation in his body caused by the spreading of a blue energy from the contract beast rune in his soul. He felt his body growing slowly lighter, with his perception of his surroundings as well as his flexibility, balance and reflexes also slowly increasing.

After a whole hour, both Alvin and Byakko both completed their breakthrough. He first opened his attribute panel to view the extent at which his strength increased.

Alvin's excitement couldn't be contained anymore as he witnessed the massive rise in strength due to his level up and also the 5% increase in attributes due to Byakko's upgrade. Apart from the fact that all his attributes now were over 30 points, his unique skill [Blitz Attack] had also upgraded to Level 2 because his strength attribute reached 30 points.

This affirmed his guess that apart from training regularly which could help upgrade these unique skills, they could also be upgraded if he was the first to achieve major milestones.

Apart from his [Blitz attack] skill, other skills had also experienced major upgrades due to his high intensity training over the last day. With these attributes, he now could be assured of survival as long as he didn't mess with a major power broker in the real world.

Being satisfied with his current attributes, he then opened Byakko's attributes to see how much strength it had gained from its recent upgrade!

Passive Skill allows it to share 30% experience of every creature it kills with master! Whenever it's awakening level increases by a level, all of master's attributes will be raised by 5%!

White Tiger's Roar: All creatures a level lower than the white tiger in a 150 meter radius will experience 60% reduction in combat power. Can be used three times in a day.

Ancient Byakko Possession (Not Fully Awakened): Allows creature of be possessed by its bloodline ancestor. All attribute increased by 45%! Attack power and Movement speed increased by 60%! Effect lasts for eight minutes but creature will experience an hour weak period.

Contract Beast Space (Level 1): A Special Space evolved from the interference of unknown energy. Allows the Contract beast to accompany the player everywhere; even to reality! Cost player 10 Fate Energy every time Byakko enters this space.

Active Skills

White Tiger's Paw Strike (Level 2): Brandishes its tiger claws to attack 3 consecutive times. Each attack deals 110% damage. Costs 1% Stamina to use each time. No cool down time.

White Tiger's Claw Strike (Level 2): White tiger focuses their strength into its claws dealing 220% normal damage to opponents and chance of attaching bleeding effects which reduces HP by 1 every two seconds. Effects last for 25 seconds. Cost 12% of white tiger's stamina. Cool down time is 25 seconds.

White Tiger's Instant Step (Level 2): Focuses strength on legs and increases movement and attack speed by 60%! Last 2 minutes with every activation. Costs 6% stamina. Cool down time is 1 minute.

Alvin's smile grew wider as he saw Byakko's new attributes. All its basic attributes as well as its skills had also experienced massive changes but what made Alvin excited the most was the new Contract Beast Space Talent. It could allow Byakko to travel with him to reality.

A while ago, he had suspected that the world which they were experiencing was not virtual Reality but was an actual world and this new function had further affirmed this guess.

With Byakko's new Strength, he believed that even a Full Moon Warrior (Level 2 Enhancer) at the Consolidation Stage would have a hard time against it. This would help him a lot in guaranteeing his safety considering he had a bounty on his head. Apart from the amount of awakening points needed to promote to Level 3 Mythical beast increasing significantly, every other thing was within his expectations.
