CHAPTER 15
ELLY'S POV
"Where are you guys?" I asked Phoebe and Caroline, nervously looking at myself in the mirror.
The door bell rang and I ran down, knowing it's Leo. I adjusted my hair and opened the door...to reveal Caroline with her costume in her hand.
"Oh, it's you" I said warily
"Nice to see you too, Elly. Looks like you don't have much interest in me." she replied sarcastically.
"I'm not into girls, Care" I replied smirking
"Ew. I'm not into you either Elly."
"Where is PHOEBE!?" I asked frustrated.
"HERE I AM" Phoebe came in singing
"Get your asses up and get ready! Slow pups." I teased as they went up silently.
As they were getting ready the bell rang again. Now this HAD to be Leo, so I ran. AGAIN. Opened the door and guess who.
"Hey, Elly! Phoebe here, yet?" Mike asked smiling with a bouquet of roses in his hand.
I took in deep breaths trying not to lash out at him. I put on a fake smile and...
"She's changing, mind waiting outside?"
"Sure! I'll be in the street down the block. Call me when she's done." he answered going to GOD KNOWS WHERE.
In about 10 minutes Caroline came down as a vampire. I guess then Damian will also be a vamp. Why is Phoebe taking so long. She's usually like the fastest to get ready.
"Where's Phoebe?"
"Changing" I rolled my eyes at her answer.
"I know she's changing, but what's taking so long?"
"Take a chill pill bruh. She has a boyfriend now. She wants to put more effort, you know." she sat on the couch and sighed "Being without a boyfriend is AWESOME" she said.
"No shit, Sherlock" I answered
"What's wrong Elly"
"I've been waiting for Leo for half an hour. He's still not here." I sighed
And as if on cue the door bell rang
"Finally. This must be him. No one else is coming" I said waking up and walking swiftly to the door.
"Actually Elly it might be.."
I walked ignoring what Caroline was saying and opened the door to reveal...
"Damian" Caroline finished her sentence
Well, should've listened to her. I was about to lash out at him...
"It's okay Elly, just go in" Caroline soothed me
They were talking something inaudible. Well, I didn't want to hear anything that guy speaks. But I have to say, he did look the the devil he is. 10 minutes later Leo came and I honestly didn't give a damn about touching up my hair.
"Hey!" he said kissing my cheek
"Hey" I said wrapping my arms around his waist.
We walked to school while Damian was coming in his car. Wanted to avoid him as much as possible. As we reached school, the stinky gym was changed into a spooky Halloween party.
"Wow, the art department nailed the look" Phoebe said in awe.
Then, out of no where, there was a slow music going on. And couples started slow dancing. Okay. Its sweet and all. But who plays a slow music on Halloween. I turned to Leo..
"Wanna dance?" I asked
"Hey, you know I don't like dancing." I didn't bother listening to him and pulled him to the dance floor.
"Come on, show me some moves. Pretty please" I practically begged him
At last he gave in and we were dancing of to the music.
CAROLINE'S POV
I was standing with Damian near the punch bowl.
"Hey, go find someone and dance" I said to Damian.
"Who's gonna dance with me. I've been to jail Caroline."
"Oh come on. They wouldn't even recognize in you VAMPIRE DISGUISE" I said laughing while he had straight face.
"JUST GO MANNN" I pushed him towards a random girl.
10 minutes later
"Hey" a voice called out to me and guess who it is.
YUP. NICHOLAS. Dressed as a werewolf. Hah. How ironic. Vampires despise werewolves. And I have a GREAT reason to walk away from him.
"Wanna dance?"
"Um. No."
"Hey, come on. You said you'll try"
"No I did NOT say I'll try, I said I need TIME" I replied frustrated.
"OHH, let's just go" he said pulling me
Before I know it we were in the middle of the dance floor and everyone's eyes were on us. As you know Nick is famous so now I'M famous. Not wanting to make a scene I swayed to the rhythm. Eventually they were dancing with their own pairs.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I whisper-yelled at him.
"Trying to talk to you" he said calmly also moving his hand lower from my waist.
"Move your hand 1 centimeter lower and I'll rip your throat out" I threatened as he got a little tensed up
Suddenly Leo held a hand to me
"Hey, Nick if you don't mind can I borrow your dance partner." he asked Nick
I took his hand without hesitation and followed him. Now we were dancing.
"Gosh, Thanks. That dude is getting creepier day by day." I thanked him "Also, how are you doing this? You HATE dancing."
"Well, sometimes, you have to make sacrifices for your best friend" he said
I looked at him in shock
"That's what I am now? Your best friend?"
He just shrugged at my question as I smiled.
PHOEBE'S POV
I was in Mike's arms swaying to the music. Never have I ever imagined this when I entered high school. A boyfriend that understands me (he was also my crush), accepts me for who I am and shows that he appreciates me. I am the most ungirly girl in the whole wide world. Hm, well, I guess I'm also a poet because that rhymed. I wasn't caring about my surrounding until I realized Caroline was dancing with Nick. What was happening? I also realized the uneasy look she had on her face as she was dancing with him. Just when I was about to beat up that jerk, Leo came to her rescue. Well, I guess today was Nick's lucky day. Because I know if I went there before Leo his face would've been a bleeding mess. And it's suitable for Halloween. How convenient. As I was watching them I felt a kiss on my temple. A involuntary smile appeared on my face.
"What was that for?" I asked Mike.
"Just a token of appreciation for coming with me today!" he replied
"Well, you're welcome" I said dramatically
His smile just widened even further.
"Hey, I wanted to show you something" he said dragging me to the back of the school building.
"If you do something cheesy I'm breaking up with you right now!" I said while he continued dragging me.
"Well, it is a little cheesy. BUT. You'll love it" he said
Where was he bringing me to?
"Close your eyes."
"NOPE"
"Ugh. Whatever" he groaned while I just chuckled
"Here we are" he stated blankly
"Um...Where we are?"
"Look up sunshine"
"Maybe I will once you rephrase that sentence without that sunshine"
"Ouh just look" he said literally pushing my head up.
Um. Rude. Before I could say anything else my breath hitched when I saw the view above me. The sky was filled with stars, shining brightly. It was beautiful. So beautiful I couldn't take my eyes away from it. I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around my waist.
"Like it?" he asked me
"Hm. Well its average" I teased
"AVERAGE?" he asked amused and carried, me twirling me around while I was laughing.
"PUT ME DOWN IDIOT. HELLO? CAN YOU HEAR ME?" I shouted
"Oh sorry I'm too 'average' to understand what you're talking" he teased
In the end we ended up falling down, landing on the grassy land. I sighed in happiness
"Thank you. Its beautiful. But how though"
"Don't question it, just enjoy it" he said
I turned to him, facing each other now. I stared into his light brown orbs in silence. Minutes felt like hours but silence remained. But not an uncomfortable silence though...
It was peaceful silence where it felt like everything and everyone around us disappeared into oblivion and we were living in our own world.
