Before long I was dressed and ready to go and just as was about to leave the room I quickly heard the sound of claws on the floor coming closer to the bedroom until they stopped and she gently nudged my legs.

"Hey, Jax hi girl."

Though I knew something was going on when she began fussing and I could hear her walking around me and I knew that she could sense something was going on but I could understand why she was a little nervous as this would be the first time in a long time we would be away from each other for a short period of time.

"It's okay, Jax I'll be alright girl I won't be gone for long."

Continuing to pet Jax in the hope it would help her relax and calm down a little until I then began to hear footsteps approaching knowing it to be Ryan before he came closer before embracing me.

"Hey, darling are you ready to go?"

I wasn't going to lie I was a little nervous but above all, I was happy and excited about the day ahead and what I would potentially experience being amongst the spirits wondering what they might do or say and I couldn't help but give a bright smile.

"Yeah, I'm ready to go."

"That's good. You beautiful today, just like always."

As he pecked my lips, I couldn't help but giggle.

"Ryan Rees always the smooth talker huh?"

Ryan could only chuckle at my response and my choice of words.

"Well, It's true, and I'm not going to say anything less than that sweetheart."

With a sincere reply, I felt a kiss against my forehead as we came together resting our foreheads together for a moment.

"I love you, Kalani"

"I love you too Ry."

With Ryan guiding me down the stairs I was soon greeted by River and by the sounds of things, he was busy gathering the equipment and the things they use in an investigation.

"Morning Kalani how are you today? Looking forward to your first paranormal investigation?"

"I'm good thank you and yes, I'm very much looking forward to it though, I'll admit I'm a little bit nervous."

"Don't worry, you'll be alright, you have Ryan and the rest of us to protect you."

"Thank you, River."

Before long, with everything packed and ready to go in the boot of the car we set off leaving the house with River driving and me and Ryan sitting in the back on our way to pick up Wyatt, then Nik.

Somehow, we weren't even ten minutes into the journey before I began to feel tired and lethargic and I wasn't really sure why I was feeling this. I wanted to sleep but since losing my sight it sometimes became more difficult to fall asleep than it was before I had lost my sight because now I'm in complete darkness all of the time and quite often leaves me feeling restless and unable to relax my body into a calm state.

For a moment I found myself resting my forehead against the window and feeling the coolness of the glass welcoming. Though it only seemed to last for a few seconds, as I soon felt Ryan taking my hand in his before he gently pulled me towards him.

"Come here darling, you'll be more comfortable laying on me."

His soft voice was calm and gentle as found my head now resting against his chest and with a kiss atop my head while his hand moved up and down my arm which was soon helping me fall into a deep and comfortable sleep.

When I had woken up I soon heard other voices in the car knowing them to be Wyatt and Nik but before anything else, I heard Ryan's voice come first.

"Hey, darling, how are you feeling now, after getting a little more sleep any better?"

Before opening my mouth, I was expecting to immediately say yes, but in a matter of seconds, that quickly changed. The unpleasant but familiar feeling of needing to be sick had returned and I knew I had to get out of the car and fast and before I could say anything Ryan had already alerted his brother.

"River pullover quick!"

With nothing more to be said, in a matter of seconds and one swift and safe movement River had pulled over onto the side of the road and before I could even get a few steps away from the car I couldn't help but empty my stomach, with having Ryan the only one to help ease the horrible discomfort.

"Easy sweetheart it's alright, it's alright, let it out."

Before long, it had thankfully stopped and I could at last catch my breath having only a horrible aftertaste left in my mouth and just as I had felt Ryan's hand on my back it quickly disappeared as I tried to reach out to him, for him to return a second later.

"Sorry sweetheart, here have some water. How are you feeling?"

"A... a little bit better than before. Could we stay here for a minute?"

"Of course we can take as much time as you need. I'm right here."
