9 Chapter 9 - Tommorow (Rev.)

After waking up, Huang Jin spent some time in bed contemplating his confession. He knew it might be too early for them to believe him, but he felt it was the right decision nonetheless. It relieved the heavy burdens and problems that had been weighing on his mind.

Exiting the bedroom, he found his father engaged in a discussion with Xun Wei.

"Dad, shall we go now? I can assist you with the detox process. It won't take long," Huang Jin suggested.

Leading his father to the space, he offered him the spring water for detoxification and guided him to submerge into the lake. Huang Jin kept a close watch to ensure the detoxification proceeded smoothly before stepping out of the space. He still wanted to be aware of what was happening inside, so he periodically checked on his father to ease any worries.

"How is he?" Xun Wei asked, occupied with making plans for their base while sitting on the sofa.

"He's doing fine, and I can monitor his progress through the space," Huang Jin replied, smiling reassuringly.

"Ahwei, let's plant fruits and vegetables inside the space. There's plenty of fertile land in there, so we won't have to worry about it," Huang Jin suggested.

"Sure, that's a great idea. I'll add it to the list. We can gather various kinds of seeds and store them in your space to keep them from spoiling. Then I'll assist you in planting them," Xun Wei said, approaching Huang Jin and hugging him affectionately, gently placing a sweet kiss on his forehead.

"While you were resting earlier, your dad and I discussed your plan to visit N city tomorrow. I'll accompany you to explore the Cave and inquire about purchasing land so you have enough time to evaluate the properties.

Additionally, I will start preparing for our wedding. We're also waiting for updates about the architect your dad will hire for the base's design. Before that, I'd like to formally introduce you to my grandpa and dad and inform them about our decision to get married. I'll also discuss the impending apocalypse with them, so they can be prepared in advance. Let's set a date for that, maybe a week from now," Xun Wei explained to Huang Jin.

"Okay," Huang Jin replied.

After waiting for three hours, Huang Jin sensed a change within his space. He then instructed Father Huang to take a bath in the lake, and they both exited the space.

"How do you feel, Dad?" Huang Jin inquired.

Father Huang described feeling good and rejuvenated. He mentioned that the chronic pain in his back was completely gone.

Huang Jin shared the plans for the following day with Father Huang before they decided to have a meal together. Xun Wei made a reservation at a restaurant, and they all arrived and began placing their orders.

Unbeknownst to Huang Jin, while they were engrossed in their meal, Xun Wei had already activated his contacts while Huang Jin was asleep earlier. After two weeks of waiting, Xun Wei received pieces of evidence and immediately instructed his men to contact the three individuals and send the materials for blackmail.

Huang Bin was in a state of panic when she received a call from an unknown number, blackmailing her with intimate photos of her engaging in sexual activities with her step-brother.

At the same time, Huang Ren also received a series of photos that included him in compromising situations with his stepmother and step-sister. He bit his lips, racking his brain to understand how the other party had obtained these photos since he believed he had been cautious. However, it seemed all his efforts were in vain.

'How is this even possible?' Huang Ren thought, filled with fear and worry about the consequences of these revelations.

At the same time Huang Ai, who had been busy flirting with Director Go, was shocked when she received a package containing incriminating black materials. As she opened the package and saw the hundreds of compromising photos sent to her mobile, her face turned pale and her emotions fluctuated between fear, embarrassment, and anger.

The photos depicted her in compromising situations with Director Go, as well as his stepson, engaging in inappropriate behavior at a hotel. Additionally, there were pictures showing her involved in illicit dealings with other directors and pocketing money.

Suddenly, a threatening phone call shook Huang Ai to her core. The caller warned her to comply with their demands, or else she would face imprisonment. Feeling utterly powerless, she realized that the situation was far from what she had perceived. Now, trapped in her own web of deceit, she saw no way to escape the consequences of her actions.

After escorting Huang Jin back home, Xun Wei phoned his brother to get an update.

His brother shared, "Mom is doing well; after drinking the spring water, she visibly relaxed, and her pain has subsided. I also gave the water to father and granddad, so they should be fine too. Don't worry. How is Ahjin doing?" After a brief conversation, Xun Wei ended the call.

In the morning, Huang Jin was awakened by a series of ringing sounds. He turned his head to check and saw the illuminated phone. Despite feeling drowsy, he tried to read the caller's name, but it was unfamiliar to him. Nevertheless, he answered with a simple "hello."

On the other end of the line was Xun Wei, whose voice Huang Jin recognized. Xun Wei said, "I'll pick you up at eight o'clock. I can't wait to see you. So get up, take a shower, and I miss you."

Huang Jin mumbled a reply, hung up the phone, and dragged his still-sleepy body to the bathroom for a shower.

Before Huang Jin retired to bed the previous night, his father, Father Huang, had a conversation with him about the preserve.

He explained that there were numerous legal procedures and paperwork to be completed before they could acquire the land. Hence, they needed to extend their stay in N City for a short while. However, Father Huang assured Huang Jin that the preserve would be handed over to them by the end of the week.

As Huang Jin descended the stairs, all set to leave the house, he encountered Huang Ai. The moment Huang Ai laid eyes on him, her expression soured instantly, but she quickly concealed her emotions.

"Why are you heading out so early? There are no classes today. Are you planning to waste time playing outside? Does your father know that you're spending money like this? Why don't you try to be more like your hardworking brother?"

"Why are you questioning my son's actions? Who gave you the authority to admonish Huang Jin? I asked him to leave early today because I had something to send with him. Moreover, Huang Jin doesn't owe you an explanation of where he's going; he has the freedom to make his own decisions. Even as his father, I don't feel the need to inquire about his whereabouts. Therefore, you have no right to rebuke him or get angry."

After addressing Huang Ai, Father Huang shifted his focus to Huang Jin and asked him to take care during the flight. He also requested Huang Jin to keep him updated with news. Huang Jin hugged his father affectionately and left him with a word of caution, reminding him to call from time to time. With a smirk, Huang Jin glanced at Huang Ai before departing from the house.

Huang Ai witnessed Huang Jin's expression, which infuriated her, causing her face to turn dark with anger. Last night, when Huang Jin returned home, he called for Huang Ai to join him in the study. Upon her arrival, Father Huang placed a pile of papers in front of her, and Huang Jin instructed her to read the contents.

"I went to see Director Go. I came across his project proposal, and to my surprise, I noticed your name listed as one of the investors. If I hadn't read the paper carefully till the very end, I might have accidentally signed it without realizing. Luckily, Director Go didn't keep the papers organized, and I spotted it right away on the top of his table."

In his frustration, Huang Jin sternly prohibited Huang Ai from going to the company and engaging in transactions with company employees, particularly the directors. However, Huang Ai, consumed by anger, left the study and called Director Go.

She discovered that Director Go was under observation, which hindered his mobility and his ability to carry out the plans they had discussed. Her face turned purple with rage, leading to a restless night of sleep. When she woke up early and saw Huang Jin, unable to contain her emotions, she vented all her grievances on him.
