Blood Revenant

"Honey Pomelo Milktea for Nikita Rodriguez!" , shouted the bar cashier of the milktea shop. A woman then wearing a cap on her head paid the money and took the milktea.

"Keep the change.", she says as she walks away from the counter. She was about to walk out of the milktea shop but she found the shoelaces of her right shoes were untied so she leaned down causing the cap on her head to fall revealing her face to the public. Three seconds then, a swarm of crowd and paparazzis started chasing her so she haven't got time to tie the laces and ran for her life outside the shop. "Gosh! It's been a month already!!! Stop pestering me!!!", Chloe ran out and went on a narrow alley hiding herself behind the trash bins.

She leaned down again to tie the laces but found out that her other shoe was missing.

"GOD DAMN! SON OF A FAT PIG I JUST BOUGHT THESE PAIR YESTERDAY!", she can only scratch her head knowing that the pair of her shoes had been gone. Luckily, on the end of the alleyway was a shopping district so she have no option but to take off her other shoe. Taking off her other shoe, she walked to the nearby boutique. As she entered the shop, she then walked quickly to the fitting room not minding where she entered. She then closed the curtains and breathed heavily but as she turned around, she realized that a man was standing behind her with half of his body exposed.

"Miss are you lo-"

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

Her screams pierced the walls of the changing room as she ran out and looked at the sign above the changing rooms.

"MEN DRESSING ROOM. HOW CAN I BE SO CLUMSY.", ashamed of what she did, she facepalmed herself. While she was wallowing at the sea of shame, a saleslady walked towards her. "Ma'am are you alright? I heard you screaming inside the changing room."

Chloe shook her head and thought long and deep. If she would tell the saleslady what happened, the guy from the changing room would be charged for sexual offense. 'Oh no, I wouldn't want that. It's my fault for being too desperate to hide myself and walked into the men's changing room.'

"Ah it's alright. I didn't read the sign on the changing rooms before going in. I'm sorry.", apologizing to the saleslady, she then asked for the hats and shoes section. The saleslady led her there and then she started to rummage throughout the hats and shoes trying on every thing that fits. In the end, she bought a pair of rubber shoes and a beige hat.

"That's 254.70$ in total, Ma'am."

Chloe took off her credit card and then the cashier swiped it on the machine.

"Thanks for shopping. Come again."

Releasing a breath of relief, Chloe grabbed a taxi then went home straight. It has been a month after she had retired and things have been going straight to her. Even if she was out of the limelight as an E-sport professional, she worked as a model for Ebony clothesline and perfume making her name fragrant to the noses of the public. She had been receiving money for her work and was credited for being the most hardworking and appreciative model at the company.

As she arrived home, lights turned on automatically as she had already set for Aisha that if she steps inside the house or perimeter of the house, the lights would turn on.

"You have one new e-mail." , Aisha said as she bling and beep consecutively. "You have one new e-mail.", repeatedly, the AI robot bling and beep once again.

Surprised, Chloe went ahead and gave command to the robot to open the e-mail.

"Open e-mail, read aloud."

Rushing to the cupboard, Chloe opened it and grabbed a baked mac and cheese heat and go recipe and tossed it on the oven setting the time for exactly three minutes until it is ready.

Aisha started reading the e-mail out loud...

After Aisha finished reading the complete e-mail, Chloe logged in to her computer. Cursed Souls allowed only 300 players for beta testing so she hurriedly register for the limited slots. After sending the e-mail for registry, she waited for the response that her e-mail had been already received. After a while, she received it via her phone which made her calm. The response email consisted a link to where she can download the beta version of the game on her PC. She entered the link on her PC and downloaded the game as she logged in her credentials, she saw the system of the game bugged alot. There were codes on the side and sometimes the sign in button glitches a lot.

She understood it since it was still the beta phase of the game. 'So far, so good.', she mumbled while she typed the In-game name of her avatar.

She was costumizing the appearance of her character when the system glitched again froze again and then went back to normal from time to time but it didn't bother her. She was like this when she had first beta tested for HIVE online. The game had the same vibes from HIVE but it wasn't an fps game, it was an MMORPG with 20 classes which makes it more exciting.

On the picking of her class, she was about to choose Crimson Noble but she had been caught by the attention of Revenant. It had a mark of a skull and a scythe. She thought that she was a long-ranged avatar player so she wanted a challenge and selected Revenant. The system glitched two and three times until the game froze. Her eyebrows crossed. The game froze for two minutes until her character logged in itself without even clicking the 'Done' button.

"Woah, was that automatic?"

Normally, in the beginning of the game, there are cutscenes so she skipped them all but to her surprise, the icon of her character was different from the icon of the class that she clicked before the game glitched.

'Uh, what's the meaning of this....?' Chloe pointed her cursor on her character's page.

The icon was very different. Normally the Revenant class' icon was A white scythe with a skull but hers was A red skull with a scythe and rose.

She clicked the cursor on 'More info' and saw that her class wasn't Revenant.

'Blood Revenant? How could this be?'
