Chapter 59

Akila,

The girl bent down and her hands shook as she gripped her knees tightly.

This wasn't her first time going through one of these portals, but it was the first she did in the flesh.

She closed her eyes and tried to breathe slowly, but she was distracted when she heard her friends' wretch.

Even though it was a blink of an eye, she felt like she was torn apart and put back together again.

The air had left her chest, her heart stopped beating and her mind went blank.

"Breathe mistress. It is hard, but at the same time, it is very simple. Focus on your senses."

Anubis said, crouching beside her, and Akila nodded her head. Then she looked at the smiling god through teary eyes.

She exhaled then tried to stand straight but was startled when she saw all the gods staring at her.

Some with interest like Ammit, Bastet, and Hapi. Others with apparent hostility such as Osiris, Horus, and Isis.
