Chapter 56

Akila,

Akila groaned, then she gasped as she opened her eyes. She looked down at her middle, then she frowned.

She sat more properly and swiped her hand above her stomach, but found nothing there.

No blood, no dressing, not even the pain she anticipated. But she was stabbed. How come she feels that way?

She looked around her and found darkness, even though she could see her body clearly.

There was that light that only shone upon her, but the surrounding area was drowning in darkness.

The girl breathed deeply and stood up on her feet, expecting to fall again, but fortunately, she didn't.

She walked over and noticed that the spot of light was following her, which scared her.

She swallowed harshly and gasped in surprise when she saw far ahead shapes moving and voices that murmured.

Akila quickened her pace and followed the light and voices and sighed in relief when she saw familiar faces.
