The Dropout
A young man in his twenties walking along the hallways of his dormitory without a care of his surroundings is deep in thought.
[Sh*t! Four Failed Marks on my Major Subjects...This is the end (Gloomy expression) i wasted all my college funds my parents gave me...where am i gonna go?].
"Hellooo!....(Waving his hands on the young man's face) hmm...This guy his seriously lost in his thoughts" a blonde young man also in his twenties trying to get the attention of the young man lost in his thoughts.
Finally after a few minutes the blonde young man got through "Huh?....Yes? is there anything you need?" The young man asked. This shocked the blonde young man as he thought that this young man was gonna take an hour to regain his senses.
"Uhmm...bro why are you lost in thought in the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!?!" the blonde young man asked. The young looked around and he too was shocked that he was thoughtlessly walking and immediately apologized to the crowd and traffic that gathered.
"Hahaha...Bro looks like you're in deep trouble, come... lets go find a restaurant somewhere and talk about it...its my treat" the blonde young man said.
The young man was hesitant at first but he also thought that he wont lose anything if he go with the the blonde young man so without saying a word he entered the blonde young mans car.
"I'm Clyde by the way, you are?" The blonde young man introduced himself. The young man who was lost in thought is embarrassed to introduce himself .
"I....I...I'm Arven nice to meet you" the young man introduced himself.
"Hahaha! Hey Come On...No need to be shy even though we just met i feel that we're gonna get along just fine" Clyde said while driving. This made Arven nervous as he noticed that Clyde isn't watching the road while talking.
"Eyes on the road man..." Arven said nervously.
Clyde's driving style almost made Arven have a heart attack finally after 30 minutes of driving around they found a small cafe that have posters of gaming idols plastered on their walls and windows.
"Uhmm Clyde why is your face in one of the posters here?" Arven asked. After hearing that question Clyde immediately laughed. "Hahaha you actually dont know me....you're a rare kind of person hahaha i thought you spend most of your time in net cafes" Clyde replied.
"You see that's part of my job but the best part of my job is on the VR world "Throne", you play the game and livestream some good events and you earn some money" Clyde added. Arven's face showed a gloomy expression because he was jealous of Clyde.
"I wish i too have a job like you...right now i'm a failure dropout (sigh) but i don't even have the money and a place to stay" Arven replied. Clyde face became curious and tries to comfort Arven.
"Hey if you don't have a place to crash, i have an extra room at the my apartment i also have an extra VR Pod which you can use" Clyde said.
"Why would you go so far to help a person you just met?" Arven asked.
"Call it owing someone a favor and scouting at the same time, i have a premonition i will need your help later on throne" Clyde replied.
"Fine i accept i will go and get my stuff will you help me?" Arven asked.
"Sure...since i have nothing to do" Clyde replied.
After eating at the cafe they went to Arven's old dormitory to gather his stuff this caused a huge uproar as Clyde is a super famous streamer and gamer.
"You sure are famous even girls from other dormitories are here, with you around it's even hard to walk on a large hallway" Arven commented.
"Hahaha sorry about that i thought all the people here were like you (sigh) sometimes i really want to be treated normally you know" Clyde replied.
"It's ok i don't mind in fact its refreshing you know Hahaha" Arven replied.
Clyde drove like a madman to avoid the large crowd gathering on the street this attracted the attention of the police which arrested the the crowd gathering.
"(sigh) Finally the police shows up" Clyde commented.
After 1 hour of driving which made it dreadful for Clyde because of the traffic he caused. Clyde entered the Garage of Palm Apartments which is the most high end apartments in the country this made Arven curious on how much Clyde earns monthly and yearly.
"Here we are come on i'll show you around" Clyde commented.
Arven went out of Clyde's car and he noticed a flash from somewhere which made him nervous after seeing another flash he decides to quickly grabs his stuff and followed Clyde to the elevator.
"Remember to watch out for those journalist they are troublesome to deal with in the future also remember that the apartment is in the 20th floor if they follow you mislead them first to higher or lower floors" Clyde advised Arven.
"(sigh) Ok i guess we'll take a detour and quickly run to the 20th floor" Arven replied.
The two left the elevator at the 18th floor and quickly ran to the service stairwell which is near the fire exit. Arven was gasping for air when they reached the 20th floor but the run earlier is like a normal scenario for Clyde so he was used to it.
Clyde slightly opens the service stairwell door to look for any signs of the media but luckily there was none this time. Clyde immediately signaled Arven who was still gasping for air to follow him.
Clyde and Arven run through the halls like their lives depended on it. After running for 20 minutes they finally stopped at the Apartment 108, Clyde immediately took out his card key and swipe it at the locking mechanism.
"Finally damn media who tipped them off" Clyde commented.
"Is this normal?" Arven asked.
"No but once or twice a month they do happen so be careful when you're outside" Clyde replied.
Clyde showed Arven his room which is spacious with a Black VR Pod already installed. There was also a computer and furnishings he needed which made him speechless as he doesn't have these things when he was in the dormitory.
"Wow, All the things here are brand new are you sure i will stay here?" Arven asked.
"Yeah, It even has the latest model of VR Pods installed so make sure you use all of its features by the way we take turns on house chores so keep that in mind anyways i'll prepare dinner so go ahead and create your character after i'm done cooking i will notify you through your pod" Clyde replied.
Clyde immediately went out of Arven's room to prepare dinner while Arven tries to find the switch of his VR Pod. It took him 30 minutes of fiddling and watching Utube videos to know how to operate his VR Pod.
"Ok, Now that i know the basics let's boot this thing up shall we"
