24 Confessions

I walk into my office and take a seat behind my desk placing my hands on either side of my head, taking in a deep breath, and letting it out in a long sigh. She needs round the clock protection, to be introduced to the pack, and we need to complete the bond, if she will let us. We need to talk to her about becoming our Luna, I am not even sure she knows our rank.

'Bryson'

'Yes brother'

'Does Taila know we are Alphas? Does she know she is our Luna?' I can feel Calix jumping for joy in my mind, I guess he is overjoyed that I am accepting our mate.

'She does not know. Kaizen told her when she is up to it that we all needed to sit down have a talk about everything.' That we do need to do.

'I have assigned Felix as her personal guard from my command. The two of you need to assign her one as well. Just let me know who it is.'

'You're taking me seriously?'

'There are things that I need to tell you and Kaizen later, but yes I am. Our Luna needs protecting, and she is to go no where's without one of us and her guards, all of them. Am I clear?'

'No need to order me brother, I completely agree with you on this. I will talk with her and Kaizen so that she is not shocked when she sees someone following her.'

'Thank you, brother. Please let her know that I do want her.'

'I think you will need to talk to her yourself, she needs to hear it from you.'

'I understand. We will talk later.'

Just as I finish linking my brother, dad walks in the office. He never knocks, of course though I do not mind, he was the Alpha after all. I get up from my desk, stepping around it and giving my dad a long overdue hug.

"So, you finally found her." The smile on his face could not have been any bigger.

"Well, I think it is more like she finally found us dad." We release our hold on each other and sit down, me behind my desk and him in the leather chair that I not so long ago occupied.

"You look good behind that desk. Your mother would be proud of the Alpha you have turned into." I miss my mother, it has been hard to do this with her.

"Thanks dad, that means a lot to me. But today I need your advice and help."

"Well let's get down to business then." he says as he sits down.

"I never told anyone, but the moon goddess told me about our mate. I really did not think about it until Taila came here. The Moon Goddess told me that our mate would be special and that we needed to protect her at all costs. I have spent the last couple of weeks trying to push her out of my head, all because she is human." My dad looks at me and just forms a grin on his face like he knows something that I do not.

"Son, you do realize that you cannot fight the bond, right?" I laugh and let out a sigh shaking my head. I take a sip of my coffee and set it back down in its spot.

"Well, I tried, but I realize now that it was useless to even try. I am not even sure why I felt that our mate whether she was human or not would not be able to handle everything. I mean, the Moon Goddess herself told me she was special." I place my head in my hands while I rest my elbows on my desk.

"Well son, you may be an alpha, but you still have a human side to you. And trust me, she knew that you were going to try and push your mate away. She always knows and has a plan. She did this for a reason and you will just need to trust her." How is he always the one to be levelheaded and right.

"Per usual your right dad." I can't help but laugh as I tell him he is right once again.

I explain my plan to my dad about the new guards and how I decided to have one of us at her side at all times. I do not know what the moon goddess has planned for us, but we need to be prepared for anything and everything. After dad leaves my office, I notice it is time for dinner.

'Have the three of you had anything to eat yet?' My brother ensured me that they would keep her safe while I handle some pack issues.

'Not yet. Taila is still sleeping.' Perfect, I will take this chance to do something for my mate.

'I will take of it. I will be there soon.' I can't help but let a smile cross my face.

I walk down to the kitchen where Martha is stationed and ask her to pack all of our dinners for me to take to my mate and brothers. I see her face light up as she rushes to give me a hug.

"I am so happy for the three of you. We need to plan a celebration for our new Luna!"  I smile and hug her back.

"We will soon Martha. Right now, we need to work a few other things first." she nods and heads back over to where she can start working to prepare food for us. After she finishes plating all of our lunches and packing them into a basket for me to handle better just gave me the perfect idea.

'How's our mate?' I mind link Kaizen.

'She is awake now, her color is looking much better now' He replies.

'I have our lunches, can all of you met me at mom's clearing if Taila is up to it.'

'I'll ask her if she is up to walking.' He cuts the link so I start walking to the clearing, 'It's a go, we will take our time getting there. I assume you have something planned.'

'I do, I will see you there,' I cut the mind link and head to the clearing. I had already grabbed a large blanket and linked Felix to bring Taila a couple of pillows, so she is comfortable. As I get closer, Felix steps up to me and slightly bows and walks beside me to the clearing.  I lay the blanket out, setting the basket in the center of it. This time of year, it will be chilly for her, but our body heat will be enough to keep her warm.

I hear my brothers approaching, as I look up, I see Kaizen with is arm wrapped around our mate's waist and she is smiling at him with a look of admiration in her eyes. She is so beautiful when she smiles.  My brother greets me with a nod and steps away from Taila and I see her face instantly drop. I approach her carefully, waiting to see what her reaction will be, hoping she will let me explain my action earlier.

"Hi," is the only thing that I can get out of my mouth. I look down at her and realize she looks scared. "I wanted to apologize and explain why I left earlier. Please come sit with us and let's have some lunch together and talk." I wave my hand to the blanket, and I see her eyes glaze over to it in surprise. I hold out my hand to see if she would even take it, and to my surprise she does. The sparks that followed her touch were pure euphoria to my insides. I slowly lead her to the spot where Felix placed the pillows. I help ease her into a sitting position and sit next to her and reach for the basket of food.

I start pulling out containers and setting them around the blanket in front of my brothers. The last container I pull out is for Taila. I hold it out to her taking off the cover.

"I hope this is okay. I wasn't exactly sure what you liked but figured you would need help gaining your energy back." I tell her, she smiles and takes the container from me.

"It's perfect Christian. Thank you." I nod and smile back at her. I put out a decanter that has lemonade in it. I pull out a glass and pour Taila's drink first, after handing it to her, I hand the decanter to Bryson so he can pour hid own.

"I want to explain my actions from earlier. I didn't mean to upset you, but I when I saw your eyes and the fear that they held, I had to leave. I knew that you were afraid of me so wanted to leave before I made it worse."  I admitted to her. I know my brothers will get a good laugh out of this, but I needed to take Bryson at his word since he knew her better than me. As I looked down at my food, I felt her slowly grab my hand and pull it toward her.

"I was not afraid of you, but afraid that you would not want me. I knew that you are totally against me being your mate because I am human, but when the three of you were in the same room as me it felt different. Like all the puzzle pieces were in place. I really don't know how to explain it." she states with the hint of tears threatening to spill out. I placed my other hand on hers and watched her face for a moment.

"You don't need to explain. I think the three of us can feel what you are talking about. Am I right brothers?" I turn to look at my brothers who have been extremely quite during our moment as if they both knew that we needed this time to set things right. They hum in agreement and continue to eat their lunch. "Now let's eat before this get any colder and it no longer taste good."
