Ch. 7

After Kurayama got past his initial shock he read the text present on the magical screen floating before him,

 [Hey, Kurayama-kun~ I forgot to mention the addition of a system given to those chosen to be sent into a new world as they are ~]

 Reading the text, Kurayama couldn't help but curse the goddess for forgetting to mention something so vital, 'I guess that creep really did get to her, how… human?' he thought to himself as he continued to read the prompt in front of him

 [Seeing as how Akira-kun made sure there were no big threats present in the world when he described what kind of world would be ideal for you three, the system is therefore a fairly simple one] The goddess explained [You won't be able to gain any supernatural powers, considering that would upset the worlds balance too much, and that would land me in hot water with my boss ;;]

 'Huh, who would've thought Gaia-sama had a boss' thought Kurayama before continuing the page

 [As I mentioned this one isn't anything too crazy, as your guys world is considered D tier when it comes to threats, the quests you'll get are going to range from something as mundane as studying for a certain amount of time, to maybe helping a poor girl deal with some creep/s]

 'Makes sense so far, I honestly don't think this was needed in the first place, my wish is more than enough to stir the world' thought Kurayama

 [Ps. I hope you like my small gifts I've given you guys, with the checkbook and apartment you guys won't have to worry about much other than maybe some entrance exams.]

 [I hope you guys enjoy the new world, as this is the finial time you all will hear from me, this is goodbye. I hope you all have fun and stay safe]

 'Huh… she really is a good goddess, isn't she?' he asked himself with a chuckle, before dismissing the prompt and diving into the systems inner workings, 'Oh, here it says friends list, and it says Tatsuya is online?'

 'Oh, he's probably also still awake, I'm guessing he too has seen this system thing?' Which probably also meant that Akira was already asleep

 Before he could continue his train of thought he suddenly heard a voice in his head

 "Uh… Testing? Kurayama?" Asked Tatsuya's voice from within his mind

 "Ok, what the hell?!" Yelled the surprised Kurayama, not having been ready to hear his friends voice as he was completely alone in his room, "How are you talking to me?" He asked

 "Oh great, it works!" Replied Tatsuya, "Sorry for scaring you, I was just messing with the friends list function on this system thingy" he explained

 "It looks like it has a group chat function, though I'm guess Akira is gonna have to be here for it to actually make it a group chat" he said

 "That… makes sense" Said Kurayama after gathering his thoughts, 'being able to talk to each other with out uttering a word is kind of overpowered, maybe Akira won't be in so much danger now when it comes time for the entrance exams' Kurayama quickly thought of the practical uses of this new system

 After the two made idle conversation, talking about their new system Kurayama asked, "So how do I hang up?"

 "There's a small red icon near the bottom left" Replied Tatsuya, "But before I let you go, I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on something"

 "You know relationships have never been my strong suit, you should probably ask Akira" Cut in Kurayama before Tatsuya could finish asking

 "No, no its nothing like that." Said Tatsuya, "I know better than to ask you of all people for relationship advice" he chuckled

 "No, I was wondering, the friends list feature can't only have been made to for only us, right?" Asked Tatsuya, the question had been lingering in his mind ever since he saw the systems friends list

 "Are you asking if this list helps confirm the idea of other people being sent to this world as well?" Replied Kurayama, as he fell deep in to thought, pondering the implications of everything that was currently happening, "honestly others being sent here aren't outside the realm of possibility, I mean the fact that even we were sent here is already something inexplainable"

 "Others accidentally making the same demands as Akira is possible, the only issue is how to identify them with out getting any strange looks" He continued

 "You aren't wrong, we can't exactly go up to other people and ask, 'Hey buddy, you wouldn't happen to also be a transmigrator as well, would you?'" Said Tatsuya, "But the idea that there may be others here as well makes things far more exciting"

 "I just worry about anyone having any malicious intent when coming to this world, that one creep was able to get so close being sent to another world, if he had kept his urges a secret he might have been let through" Replied Kurayama in a worried tone

 "I think your worries are unfounded," said Tatsuya

 "Gaia-sama seemed pretty reliable, I'm sure nothing like that is getting past her" he explained, "plus I'm sure you have to at least be a decent person to even get a chance to reincarnate, no shot they allow just anyone, did you see how barren that dark place was?"

 "I'm sure we just got lucky with the whole goddess being responsible for our deaths" Tatsuya continued

 "You're right, I worry too much" Kurayama simply said, releasing a deep breathe he hadn't noticed he'd been keeping in, after their conversation the two bid each other good night and disconnected from the systems voice call

 ~next morning, Pov Akira~

 *thud*

 "W-what the hell is that?!" Akira exclaimed as the blue screen was waiting patiently for him to interact with it, the shock causing him to fall from his bed. Standing from his fall he rubbed his lower back and marveled at the screen in front of him, 'my life just keeps getting better and better' he thought to himself as he sat back down on the bed and delve in to what was written on the screen

 After taking all the information and dismissing the message he decided to mess with the system for a little bit noting the same friends list his other friends had noticed the night before

 Before he could mentally click on either of their names Akira heard a knock at his door, standing to answer both Tatsuya and Kurayama were standing in front of him, already dressed in plain clothing

 "Glad to know your sleeping habits haven't changed" said Kurayama in an exasperated tone as he shook his and stepped into the apartment

 "Hey sleepy head, we heard a big thud" explained Tatsuya as he also made his way inside, "you alright over there?"

 "Oh that…" Replied Akira, "Yeah everything is fine, I was just kinda shocked at having a blue screen just floating in front of my face and falling off of my bed" Akira sheepishly rubbed the back of head, unsure of how to act in response to having his little commotion heard by the other two

 "Ah I see you've finally discovered the system Gaia-sama gave to us?" Asked Kurayama as he sat at Akira's desk

 "Yeah, when did you guys get the chance to mess with it?" Akira asked as he made his way to his own bathroom to freshen up, coming back out wearing a new set of clothes

 "Last night was when the system finally activated" Tatsuya said

 "I think it was set to automatically activate once the clock hit midnight, maybe spending the whole day exploring the world was a requirement or something" Kurayama explained his thoughts on the matter, "I was doing some online research before it activated once I finally made my way to bed"

 "Yeah, I was checking out one of the history books on the shelf when I decided to also head to bed, it activated right as I was shutting my eyes," said Tatsuya

 "Then how come I was able to activate it? I ended up falling asleep as soon as I left Tatsu's apartment" Asked Akira curiously

 "I guess the amount of effort you had to put in to play against Aomine had something to do with it?" Replied Kurayama as he pondered the situation, "After I checked Shuchi'in academy I kind of just wandered around aimlessly until I received Tatsu's message"

 "I wandered around until the sun set and then came across Mahiru," said Tatsuya

 This earned a small nod from Akira, "Makes sense"

 "Anyways, the practical uses for even the voice call function alone are amazing" said Kurayama, "With this we can guarantee admission to any school we want"

 "Right, about that" Asked Tatsuya, "What school do we have planned to go to? You know I've never really cared for those kinds of things, as long as we can go together" he continued, nodding sagely at the idea

 "I for one want to go to a school with a strong basketball team, that's my only requirement," said Akira

 "I figured you'd say that" said Kurayama, "So I looked into not only academic schools but the best schools all around, and it seems like Shuchi'in academy is not only famous for its academic scores but also most of its sports teams" he nodded his head in explanation

 "And with your sport skills I doubt you'd be denied entry into the school, and even if you don't, I can guarantee us admission with the friends list function the system houses"

 "Kurayama, have I ever told you how awesome you are?" Asked Akira

 With a huff Kurayama responded, "You don't have to state something everyone already knows" He turned his head slightly upwards, wearing a smug grin on his face, his friends compliment causing his head to grow a little

 "Right… anyways, how am I supposed to get in?" Asked Tatsuya, "With Akira's sportsmanship he guaranteed entry, and you are smart enough that they won't be able to ignore you"

 "Don't act like you don't already have some sort of idea on how to gain admission" responded Kurayama as he stared blankly at his friend

 "hehe, you caught me" he responded, holding his hands in front of him, in some sort of surrender, after which he pulled his phone out and showed his friend a strange message he had received the day prior

 [Tatsuyaaaaa… remember your promise to attend Shuchi'in academy? I hope you do, because we really need some help at the moment]

 After reading the contents of the message the two friends couldn't help but wonder how any of that had happened

 Before they could bombard him with questions, Tatsuya put the phone away and said, "I have no idea what this body was up to before I awakened in it, but it seems that even in this world I'm heavily involved in other people's problems"

 His explanation caused his two friends to sport wry grins of their own, "is there anything else to the message?" Asked Akira

 "Yeah, here" responded Tatsuya as he unlocked his phone and showed them the second message the unknown person had sent

 [If you wanna know more come to our favorite café, I can explain more tomorrow]

 Attached were a time and location for Tatsuya to meet this mysterious person

 "Well… are you gonna meet this person?" Asked Kurayama, which earned him a small nod from his blue haired friend, "I think so, after all this is one of the ways to earn me a spot at Shuchi'in"

 "It almost time too, so I better head out if I don't want to keep this person waiting" said Tatsuya as he stood up, heading towards the door

 "If anything happens, keep us updated" said Kurayama, to which Akira nodded in agreement, "we have the system now, so call us on the group chat if you need some help"

 'Though I'm pretty certain you of all people won't be needing our help' thought Kurayama as he remembered all the times Tatsuya had bailed the other two out of trouble, whether it was due to his ability to fight or his ability to talk his way out of anything

 "What are you gonna be doing?" He asked his blonde friend, the two now alone with Tatsuya having already left, "I gave Aomine my contact info. And it seems like he wants to introduce me to someone"

 "Something about wanting to show them who had reignited his passion?"

 "I-I see?" Responded Kurayama, not really knowing how to respond to his friend's statement, "well in any case, be sure to be careful out there"

 "We don't fully understand what this world Is capable of" He said, remembering his conversation with Tatsuya last night, 'I'm sure I am worrying for nothing, but better safe than sorry'

 "Right, I'll be on my way then" said Akira as he and Kurayama were now standing outside of his apartment

 After watching his friend depart, Kurayama stepped back into his apartment, 'I should get started on studying, I do not want to be caught unprepared in the case that Tatsu isn't able to secure his own way into Shuchi'in' he silently thought as he cracked open his laptop, he didn't mind giving them the answers. Kurayama would take the exams for the other two if he could, this was the least he could do to help his friends who had been helping him his entire life, both in the last one and surely again in this one
