Chapter 1: Deception Plan_1

Jiang Yu prayed in a deserted classroom with sincere quietness, "Lord, Evans is too extreme, and Ye Wenjie merely has the title of 'Commander'; they are unlikely to achieve great things.

"If the Lord wishes to successfully colonize the Solar System, you need to break the information monopoly held by Evans and listen to more opinions, employing wiser methods to dismantle humanity."

A year ago, Jiang Yu thought he had been reborn, his thirty-something self returning to his old college campus.

Just as he was preparing to use his rebirth experience to thrive in college, he learned about the existence of the Trisolaran Organization (commonly known as ETO) and the Three-Body Game.

The only difference was that in this world, family, classmates, schools, and so on were all exactly the same as in his previous life.

Jiang Yu's college teacher was a member of the Adventist faction, repeatedly intending to "develop" Jiang Yu, once "thought mature," into their underling.

As far as Jiang Yu knew, his teacher Kong Xiang was one of the three leaders of the ETO Adventist faction in China.

Originally, Jiang Yu did not intend to meddle in these troubled waters, but then he considered this an excellent cover to inform the authorities about ETO.

Having been reborn, he naturally could not live as aimlessly as he had in his former life.

According to the timeline in the book, the Trisolarans should have already sent Sophons, the entire human world already under their surveillance.

However, having read the original story, Jiang Yu knew that at this point, the Trisolarans were still relatively easy to deceive, and so he sketched an even bolder plan in his mind.

The first step was to gain the attention of a Sophon after joining ETO. He knew this would be difficult, as there were only a few Sophons initially, and it was impossible to monitor everyone in the whole world.

Outwardly, Jiang Yu was active within the organization, and he was highly regarded by Kong Xiang.

Additionally, Jiang Yu used prayer as a way to try to communicate with Sophons for half an hour every afternoon.

After persisting for over two months with no response, Jiang Yu began to wonder if Sophons simply skipped monitoring ordinary people?

Just as he thought this, a line of text suddenly appeared before his eyes: You have three minutes to explain your thoughts.

Jiang Yu breathed a sigh of relief. He knew that hovering around an important ETO officer, the Sophons would certainly monitor him occasionally.

And with the bait of successfully colonizing the Solar System and dismantling humanity, if the Sophons were listening, there was an eight or nine out of ten chance they would ask a question.

Jiang Yu quickly said, "Evans has misjudged a fact, humanity is not so fragile. His high-profile actions will sooner or later touch the sensitive nerves of various countries, ultimately leading to huge losses for ETO, and from then on, you will no longer be able to continue assisting in conquering Earth."

Jiang Yu had never seen Evans, but according to the original story, this man got so carried away with his sabotage that he exposed ETO's existence early on.

This allowed the countries to break through the facade and dissolve most of ETO's forces.

Sophon: Speak of your plan.

Jiang Yu smiled and said, "If humans want to eliminate us, we might as well hide among them.

"I will contact the human government as an informant, providing them with some less important intelligence little by little to earn their trust, and eventually fully infiltrate their ranks.

"Only by becoming one of them will they fail to find us."

Sophon: This plan is full of uncertainties. How do we know this isn't a ploy to use our intelligence for your own gain?

Jiang Yu thought to himself, "Trisolarans only lack strategies, but still have a basic sense of caution!"

He was well-prepared: "The information I will provide to humanity comes directly from the Lord's notifications, so this plan's genesis is under the control of the Lord."

After a few seconds, the Sophon took a while to reply: What benefits can we gain from this plan?

Jiang Yu answered, "Once the intelligence I provide earns me the trust of humanity's upper echelons, it will be easier to guide the entire human race towards destruction than through ETO."

Sophon: The plan is rejected. No one will believe intelligence obtained from the enemy.

Jiang Yu smiled and said, "Let me tell the Lord a story about 'Jiang Gan stealing the letter'; long ago..."

Sophon: I know that story. We have always wondered why such a plot exists.

"Because human nature is complex," Jiang Yu said. "Sometimes, people prefer to believe intelligence obtained from the enemy."

After a few seconds, the Sophon wrote on the retina again: I think I understand your point. I need to report your plan upward. I'll get back to you in three minutes.

Jiang Yu waited anxiously for over two minutes, before the Sophon came back online: We can try it.

Jiang Yu breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, he could provide intelligence on ETO to humanity openly and justifiably.

As he was preparing his next move, the phrase "Wallfacer's Shop" suddenly appeared in his mind.

Jiang Yu was initially stunned, and then brimming with joy. Having traversed for over a year, he had thought that he would not have a "golden finger".

Nor did he expect that just after bluffing the Sophon, his "golden finger" would appear.

Wait a minute!

Wallfacer's Shop?

After his initial joy, Jiang Yu sensed that this "golden finger" was a bit off.

In theory, the Wallfacer Project should only be announced and executed after the invasion by the Trisolarans and ETO's destruction were fully exposed to humanity.

As far as Jiang Yu knew, Yang Dong (Ye Wenjie's daughter) had not yet died, and there was still about a year left before the Wallfacer Project was supposed to be unveiled, so why did the Wallfacer's Shop appear?

But then Jiang Yu also realized that the core of the Wallfacer Project is the deception of the Trisolarans and the human world, and his ongoing plan fit perfectly with this principle.

Jiang Yu needed to act as a fake spy while doing the work of a real one and, as a spy of ETO, conceal the source of intelligence from humanity.

Wallfacer or not, what Jiang Yu was doing now was essentially the work of a Wallfacer.

Only he was more like Zhang Beihai and Yun Tianming, concealed Wallfacers working in the shadows, unable to mobilize the resources of the human world to help him execute his plan.

But isn't that even more respectable?

In "Three-Body", compared to the other Wallfacers, Jiang Yu admired Zhang Beihai the most; he was the true lone ranger.

After figuring out the intricacies, Jiang Yu carefully examined the Wallfacer's Shop.

The shop had three options: Store, Lottery, and Income.

He entered the store and took a glance, on a simple shelf only one item was illuminated: Intrude the Sophon's surveillance system for three minutes.

Beneath it, the price listed was 1000, and it was marked with the words "price increase in half a year".
