Chapter 1

Spring is coming, and I just graduated from high school. Cherry blossoms, nice weather, and finally, no assignments to do! as of now. It is perfect to celebrate this achievement with your loved ones during this kind of season. Unfortunately, my parents passed away due to a car accident when I was 7 years old, and my only loved ones right now are this man running towards me, holding a bouquet of flowers to congratulate me, of course. He is Fuyumi, Yumi for short, he has thin black eyes, shiny black undercut hair, is 5.5 feet tall and slim, and most importantly, he is the most beautiful man in this world. He is single, by the way, and currently a hardworking restaurant manager. He has been my guardian since I was 7. For him, I am his little brother, or worse, his son. It is a whole different for me. I have my unrequited love for him; he is my longtime crush, my future boyfriend, and eventually my husband, in my dreams, I think.

Back to my sad reality, after he handed me the bouquet and congratulated me, he hugged me tightly, which automatically made my heart beat faster. He even caressed my hair as if I were really his son, and he is a father who is so proud of me! I cannot understand that he is only one year older, so why am I a son for him and not a husband?!

As usual, we took some pictures, and later on, we went to a restaurant to celebrate. We had delicious foods, cake, wine, and my dear Yumi. Look at how perfect it is to be on a date with him! We are casually talking about stuff like how I survived high school when he suddenly offered me a wine and said, "Look, you can now drink since you will be eighteen years old next month; let's just advance it and consider it your congratulatory party.". As an excited teenager, well, I just drink it as if I were just having water, though it tastes like blood. And that is the last thing I remembered after I passed out.

When I woke up, I was now in my bed in our apartment. I was still nauseous and dizzy. All the lights are off, and Yumi is not in his bed either; maybe he is cooking in the kitchen. I tried to walk slowly to go to the kitchen when I suddenly bumped into something in front of our bedroom's door. I was dumbstruck as I turned on the lights and saw Yumi half naked! He dragged me back to our bed, and we sat together.

"I know you are shocked by what is happening right now, but I hope you will bear with it in the meantime because it is all for your benefit," Yumi told me with an uneasy expression. After that, he handed me a simple gold ring with my name engraved inside and the words "cel cinstit," and he said that it was from my parents; the engraved means "the honored one" in Romanian. He was tasked with giving it to me before I reached the age of eighteen. He also explained that once I wear it, there will be instances where I can be targeted, but I should not worry since I am under his protection.

After his explanation, he wore the ring on to me and shockingly wounded his wrists together with mine. We stick together our wrist with cuts. "This is Sange, it is done by a vampire and his human companion, it means that I am dedicating my blood to you and yours only throughout my life, My Highness." I cannot comprehend the things he is saying and doing to me right now especially when he is half naked right now. I am distracted as I am imagining some dirty thoughts with him and all I just understand is that he will give blood to me and so on, that means.. "Wait! What?! Am I the vampire here?! How?! Why?!" I frantically asked him.

"I will explain to you every detail later, but for now let us proceed to the next ceremonial, come here and bite my neck now, you should drink my blood, My Highness."
