Damian

Earth, the Year 2009

With no type of indication whatsoever various portals appeared on earth all in seemingly random locations bringing along with it a surge of some mystical force that swept throughout the globe giving some lucky individuals varying abilities that seemed magical at the time.

This event obviously created the biggest stir the world had ever witnessed along with a large amount of public unrest due to the unknown danger that these events could bring along with it.

10 years after the Surge

During these 10 years, more and more people have started awaking their Abilities along with new types of organizations called Hunter Guilds or just Guilds that have cropped up to explore and clear these Dungeons of the monsters that roam within and eventually break out of the Dungeons if they are not cleared within a certain time frame.

How did these Break Outs become known you may ask? Let's just say a few cities don't exist anymore.

Current Time, the Year 2034

"Another system novel? Is this really how little creativity authors have nowadays?"

Sighing due to the sheer amount of copy and paste overly generic novels that plague the rankings nowadays Damian threw his phone onto his bed and closed his eyes.

"Who am I to talk, I'll probably still end up reading it regardless of the quality."

Sighing once again Damian tried to clear his thoughts in an attempt to drift off into sleep.

Unfortunately, it seemed like fate had other plans for him tonight.

[Welcome host! You are now the owner of the System!]

Seeing a blue holographic screen appear in front of him along with a string of text Damian was momentarily stunned before closing his eyes once again and taking a deep breath in.

"....FUCK!"

——

After collecting his thoughts Damian casually sat upon his bead while laying his back against the wall and staring at the blue holographic screen in front of him. He couldn't help but marvel at the irony of the situation he was currently in. Just as he was complaining about the oversaturation of System novels he just had to get thrown straight into one himself.

Pinching himself to see if he was dreaming? He couldn't even stomach the thought of following in the footsteps of every other protagonist to exist!

Although he thought this the red mark on his forearm portrayed a different story that's neither here nor there. Without beating around the bush Damian directly asked the question that would speed along the process and answer some of his questions.

"Okay System explain to me what you do and what I can access right this moment. I don't need to hear any fluff bullshit about why I was chosen or anything like that, at least not at the moment."

Directly after he asked this question a disgustingly enthusiastic voice reverberated within his head along with an interface appearing right before his eyes to show all that was being explained.

[ Of course host! I am the System, with the System, you can currently access Status, Missions, Shop, and Gacha! The system recommends host check his status then open the Beginner Mystery Box after the explanation is finished.]

Damian only nodded his head while waiting for the system to finish.

[As I'm sure the host knows the Status option allows the host to view all of their information, abilities, and stats.

The Missions option is where the host can go to find randomized missions, repeatable daily missions, and main missions to gain rewards and experience to further the host's strength.

The Shop option will allow the host to buy Items, Abilities, and more through the use of points gained through completing missions, killing monsters, and clearing dungeons.

Finally, the Gacha option will allow the host to buy different tiers of randomized loot boxes that may or may not be worth more than what you used to buy the Mystery Box.]

After hearing the explanation Damian wasn't surprised in the slightest as he had read about these types of things way more than he would like to admit.

"Status."

Looking at his Status Damian only inwardly nodded since it wasn't anything too far out of his expectations, he guessed that a normal human who didn't awaken would have at max a 10 in all areas except for mana.

"Open the Beginner Mystery Box"

[Ding! Beginner Mystery Box has been used. Distributing items...]

[5 Large EXP Potions Obtained!]

[Soul Bound Bow Obtained!]

[Soul Bound Chain Scythe Obtained!]

[Vampire Progenitor Bloodline Pill Obtained!]

"...Did I just actually get something good from a Gacha?"

Completely Wiping out the other Items from his mind Damian brought his sole attention to the last Reward he acquired, the Vampire Progenitor Bloodline Pill.

"Inspect the Bloodline Pill"

[Understood Host.

Item: Vampire Proginator Bloodline Pill

Rank: ???

Description: The Vampire Proginator was the first of its kind and brought into being one of the strongest races to ever exist. This Bloodline pill was created by the Progenitor in hopes to pass down their power to a suitable candidate that could bypass the trial they left behind.

Effects: Consuming this pill will restructure the user's body and mind to that of the long-forgotten Vampire Progenitor along with some of their abilities, this includes race attributes intrinsic Bloodline Abilities.

Note: Some powers will be sealed in order to prevent the host's body and soul from being eradicated from existence due to the difference in power]

After sucking in a breath of cold air Damian immediately threw off his clothes and rushed to the bathtub just to be sure that he wouldn't dirty anything in his room since in the novels he read situations like these were rarely ever a clean procedure.

Sitting within the bathtub Damian Marveled at the pill in anticipation.

"Vampires always were my favorite."

Without further delay, Damian popped the pill inside of his mouth and proceed to bite onto a spare shirt he had laying around since there was a 99% chance this would not be a painless experience.

'It shouldn't hurt that bad right?'

Will Damian end up cultivating the Dao of Cliches?

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
