A smart idea? I wish.

Now, I'm in a bit of a dillemma. I kind of want to find out more about why I lose my mind in cases like this one, but at the same time I just don't want to know about it.

"I'll just ingore it for the time being. The only way to tests what's going on inside my head is to kill something ridiculously strong again, and I doubt that will be happening today." And that leaves me with one option. I have to go back.

While I'm at it, I may as well chech if the scroll started glowing again. If it did, I'll try to teleport to the mansion right away. Let's see.

"Well that was quick." I pulled the scroll out of my inventory and it was already glowing. I now hve a reliable and fast way to travel around the place. Now, can I teleport to a place where I haven't been before? That's what I'll test right now.

"Ahem. Scroll, teleport me inside of the mansion. No? Alright, then take me to the closest place to the mansion." This was a sort of test, to see how complicated of a command the scroll can do. To my surprise, it actually understood my second request.

I am once again blinded with light, and after opening my eyes I found myself in a afamilliar enviroment, which is near the entrance of the mansion. Perhaps this wasn't such a great idea, because there are a lot of guards around here.

I walked away without attracting any unnecessary attention, and used a special whistle that I was given when I made a deal with the spies. The whistle can't be heard by a human's ear, but they have a special magical device which reacts when the whistle is blown, thus letting them know that I'm calling them.

It will take some time for them to sneak out, so I guess now I just have to wait for a little bit.

~~~
By the time the sky got dark, the spies finally came.
"So, you guys came with good news, yes?" If they didn't do their job properly, that'd be a month's worth of time wasted just like that. Well, it wasn't completely wasted, but I'd rather not wait for another month.
After a little conversation, I found out a few things. Firstly, the dragonic crystals are stored in the inventory of a professional blacksmith, who lives inside the beastman kingdom. This was great news, because that means that beastmen are real, and now I have a reason to pay the place a visit. I was unsure about their existance before, because I have't seen a single one in the human kingdom.
Judging by that logic, I think that there will also be a demonic kingdom, and I wouldn't mind paying that place a visit as well.
The second thing I found out is that I wouldn't be able to make the blacksmith give me the crystals forcefully, because he would rather die than to break his promise.
Because I only paid for them to tell me information about the location of the crystal, I had to give them a tip for the second bit.
Well, now I know exactly where I want to go next - to the beastmen kingdom.
I thanked the spies, though I'm not sure it was neseccary considering they got extra cash from me, and set up camp in the forest. I'm gonna find a cart to go on tomorrow, because I cant teleprt to a place where I've never been before.
It can't be too hard.
Or so I thought.
The next day, I spend several hours wandering around the village, and then I teleported to the mansion as well, just to make sure, but there wasn't a single person willing to take me to the beastmen kingodm. My guess is that humans have a bad relationship with them, but it could be something more than that. I guess I'll find later.
"Haaa, I really don't want to go all the way on foot. That would take 2 months at least." I need to make a [manipulator] as soon as possible, so spending two months just to get the crystals is too much.
Having weighed my options, I came to the conclusion that I'm as brain-dead as ever.
Why didn't I think of this earlier? The answer was right before my nose for the past week.
"I can kill a baby wyvern on my own now." If I go back to the scorching ravine and hunt down two baby wyverns, I will not only get my draconic crystals, but I'll also get a load of high quality meat that can be preserved for years.
Of course, this plan is completely off the track, and it renders the whole idea I previously had useless.
"But who the hell cares?" There's no rule stating that I can't change my plan, plus I absolutely did not expect to gain so many levels during the month.
I still want to visit the beast men's kingdom, but touristic matter can wait for another day.
"Good to see you, my one and only friend. Take me to the wyvern den, as close as possible to a nest." I once again activated the scroll, and this time I was greeted with an uncomfortable amount of heat.
"Yep. This is the right place." As my levels went up, my physical resistance also increased, and now I'm able to withstand the heat.
I looked around to make sure that there were no wyverns nearby, and snuck into the wyvern's den, expecting to find some babies lying inside their nests.
"Huh? Wait, hold on." I looked inside the nest, and it was empty.
I quickly turned around to leave the den before the adults come back, but I didn't expect to see this.
"So I've been played my a flying lizard. And here I was, thinking how smart my ideas are." Things couldn't be any worse than they are.
A single adult wyvern must have spotted me the money I appeared, and lured me into his nest. Things weren't too bad, right? If I go all out I might just have a chance to win, plus that would be a whole bunch of experience for me to get.
So, what's so bad about all of this? Well, the wyvern decided not to fight me. Instead, he blocked the entrance of the den.
"That's one of the top ways I don't want to die in my book. Being cooked alive. Hahaha.. fuck."
Hey readers, hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Now River has to do his best to escape this place, otherwise he will become a meal for the wyvern.
Will he die? Let’s hope not.
