195 — Han Jingse's Secrets Are Out
"Right away sir." Tong Zhian backtracked, shutting his mouth. As he turned, he heard his boss say,
"Go and get me that phone now."
The smile that blossomed on Tong Zhian's face made him look like a high school student. "I'm on it sir," he said before hurrying away.
Ah, he was going to be rich!
After he left, Gao Tinghua took a shower and changed into casual clothes before sitting on the bed.
The men he had told to handle Bei Fengxue were taking coming to the Capital via car, so they would not arrive until late in the evening. He planned to meet up with them then. He gritted his teeth just thinking about her.
To distract himself, he got up to take his laptop from the desk in order to check his emails.
As he browsed, he marked the important ones and drafted replies to those that needed immediate responses.
As he worked, time ticked by. Unknowingly, more than thirty minutes had passed. He began to feel thirsty.
He paused his work, stretched and was about to stand up when one new email came in. The sender was unknown, but the heading was clear— "If you want to annul your engagement, check this out."
His first instinct was to frown. Was someone trying to scam or provoke him? He was really not in the mood for such nonsense.
He already had his cursor on the "delete" button when he suddenly paused. On a second thought, if the email was useful, he would finally be free.
Suddenly intrigued, Gao Tinghua forgot about the water he was about to go and get, clicking on the email instead.
There were a few lines of text in addition to some attachments, including a video. The text was something along the lines of "if you are satisfied with my sincerity, then let us collaborate. PS: The video might be a bit hardcore, watch with caution. Sincerely, your potential business partner."
Gao Tinghua proceeded to download the first document and read. The more he read, the weirder he felt.
Han Jingse was cheating/ had cheated on him? And she was even good at blackmailing someone? Seriously?
He found it really hard to believe, but the evidence was staring at him in the face.
The next document contained circumstantial evidence like hotel receipts, blackmail text messages she had sent to her "lover", and so on. He didn't even know what to feel. It weirded him out.
The video was truly hardcore, but Gao Tinghua watched without batting an eye. Tsk tsk tsk, such professional moves, and she was behaving like a saint that night? He was truly speechless and in awe of her acting skills. Such pretentiousness!
After looking through everything, he smiled coldly. At least, this was more than enough to actually get the engagement annulled, and even ruin Han Jingse if he so wished.
No matter the sender's intentions, he had been a big help to him. He looked at the sender's email address again, but didn't have an idea. So he sent a message back, "Who are you?"
The reply which came less than a minute later was straight to the point, "Han Leifeng. Is what I sent enough for a cooperation?"
Gao Tinghua hesitated for a second. Han Leifeng, wasn't that the illegitimate child of the Han family? The one they wanted him to fight against?
He knew the Han family was very messy, but it was obviously worse than he thought.
This was going to be very interesting.
He would naturally pitch his tent with the side that could actually be of help to him, not a bunch of parasites.
That familiar roguish grin blossomed on his lips as he typed, "Sure. Let's do it."
Han Leifeng replied shortly afterwards, "I look forward to doing business with you."

When Pei Yueran stated her need to be left alone, she didn't add a time limit. As a result, when Li Chuanmo returned with some bags a few hours later, the door to the ward was locked from the inside.
In spite of his endless knocking, he couldn't get her to say a word or respond, so he stood outside with the men he left at the door to act as security guards for a few hours, only leaving to attend to an urgent meeting.
Afterwards, he received a call from Li Qianye, so he had to go to the Li family villa. He also conveniently informed his parents what had happened.
The Li family was appalled to hear it. Zhang Heying in particular clutched at her chest in horror. She kept making the sign of the cross, praying for the safety of her daughter-in-law. Thankfully she didn't faint, easing her husband's worry.
After asking about her health and hearing she was recovering, everyone felt much better. Even Li Lianmo heaved a sigh of relief.
Her mother was right. Marrying her Big brother did not exactly look like a blessing anymore. Infact, it sounded like some really dangerous venture right now.
Li Junmo wondered aloud, "But Big brother, won't you go and stay with Sister-in-law? Is it okay to leave her alone at the hospital?"
The Li couple were also interested in the answer, and just by looking at Li Chuanmo's tensed expression, they understood a bit.
They knew that ordinarily, if something big like that happened to Pei Yueran, Li Chuanmo would not come even if they summoned him, so his coming showed that something was up.
Li Chuanmo spent the next couple of hours with his parents in his father's study.
By the time they finished their discussion, it was already midnight, so he just slept over before leaving the next morning.
When he returned to the hospital, nothing had changed. She still didn't respond, much less open the door. Even after he said he just wanted to assure himself that she was fine, there was only plain silence on her end.
His men looked very awkward. Would the Boss flare up due to humiliation?
One of them tried to explain, "After you left, Young Miss suddenly got up and locked the door. She didn't respond to us when we spoke either."
Li Chuanmo didn't respond, but his eyes darkened. The men stood up straighter due to the tension.
He stepped forward to knock, but there was no response. 'Was she sleeping? Or was she just ignoring him?' he wondered.
