UNKNOWN VOICE

It's five in the afternoon as I was walking home from school when I heard students scream my name.

"Mika!"

I looked towards the students just to see their frightened faces… As if they saw a..

"Ghost?"

Everything turned black. It felt really cold yet so calming and comfortable. As if I'm being held by someone so lovingly. I felt a liquid crawl from my feet towards my upper body though I can't see it clearly. There opens a white light and my body felt like it was melting.

*Am I dying?*

I suddenly woke up feeling so breathless only to see darkness around me and, wait, everyone?

Wait where am I? I asked myself. I tried to walk towards the people I know but I was shocked when I suddenly felt a very painful sensation in my head. It's as if there's a separator between me and them. I suddenly got so happy as I saw my best friend Erica. I tired to get near her as much as possible but she didn't seem to hear me when I called her name.

"Erica!" Someone else called her and hugged her from behind. Wait, Max?

I also tried to hold Max but again, it only brought me pain. What's happening? Why is he holding her like that? I'm right here!

"I'm right here!" I screamed while tears started flowing down my cheeks but of course they still didn't hear it. I hate this. I hate this feeling. I cried as I got more and more frustrated as to why I am feeling like this right now. Am I scared? Am I in panic because of my situation? or is it because I felt.. Betrayed?

*No way.. I can't be feeling that. It's not like they're doing something that I should really be mad of. Right?*

"Babe, have you heard anything about Mika?" Max said.

It caught my attention as I heard my name.

*Wait.. "babe"? What the heck are they talking about? I'm right here!*

"Shh! I told you to not call me babe outside!" Erica says playfully. "Someone from school might hear us and who knows? That stupid girl might hear it from someone too. We better be careful." She said as she clinged onto my boyfriend's arms.

*Are they talking about me?*

"Hey" said an unfamiliar voice. I can't figure out whether they're a she or a he but what I'm sure about is that they're near me though I don't know which direction the voice was coming from.

"Hey" The unknown voice said again.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Ah! So you could actually hear me?" They finally spoke. "This is very impressive for a mere human like you. Who knew there would come a day someone from earth would understand my language." They said proudly.

Now that I think of it, they're not speaking an earth kind of language at all yet I can understand them clearly.

"May I ask who you are?" I said.

"There's no need for you to know me yet but I sure do know ALL OF YOU" They said with a very playful tone.

It sent shivers down my spine. This person is no joke… Or so I thought.

I asked where I am and why I am brought here only to hear words that are so clear yet I seemed to not understand the first few seconds.

"I kind of accidentally killed you."

"WHAT?!" I screamed of shock when my brain had absorbed that he said he accidentally killed me.

"I'm dead?" I said as I started to feel kinda sad.

"That's why I'm here." He said. "Since it's partly my fault that you died, I'll give you a human body and help you get revenge."

"Revenge?" Oh, right. I still need to settle some scores with Erica and Max. I still can't believe they'd do this to me.

"Then how will you help me?" I asked.

"I'll simply guide you by being a voice in your head. That's all."

I suddenly saw a man from afar. A really beautiful one at that. He suddenly smirked and said, "Should we start?'
