Police officers swarmed Melissa's driveway, their presence bringing a sense of security. Melissa recounted to them the horrific discovery, her voice trembling as she struggled to find the right words.
As detectives began their investigation, Melissa's mind raced with questions.
Why would Adam be at her house?
Did he have any enemies?
Melissa couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled deep within her.
The police swarmed Melissa's home and surrounding area. investigators combed through any evidence That they could find and interviewed any potential witnesses. Melissa tried to piece together any clues that could shed light on Adam's mysterious presence in her driveway.
Then another question hit her "Had someone been trying to frame her?"
After hours the police finally had everything they needed and left the scene. Taking Adam's body with them but not before instructing Melissa and everyone else in the area to keep their doors locked and if they notice anything unusual to contact them.
Sitting on the steps leading to her front door, Melissa felt lost and unsure of what to do next. Suddenly, she found herself dialling Theo's number, seeking solace in his presence.
"Something terrible has happened, and I don't want to be alone right now. I didn't know who else to call," Melissa confessed to Theo.
"Don't worry, I'll be there in a minute," Theo reassured her.
"Thank you. I'll be outside, sitting on the stairs. I'm scared to go back inside on my own," Melissa told Theo.
"Stay there. I'll be with you shortly," Theo promised.
"Okay, once you arrive, I'll explain everything to you," Melissa told Theo.
"Sounds good," said Theo.
Melissa then ended the call, anxiously waiting for Theo to arrive, hoping his presence would bring some comfort in this unsettling time.
