"Anyway, as I was saying, I don't think it's the other party of the relationship anymore that's at fault. It's me. I'm constantly looking for reasons to leave a relationship and I'm always waiting for them to fail. There's something wrong with me, Momma. I just can't commit." I mumbled in shame before looking away from her probing gaze.
"Then that means you just haven't found the one yet. Don't worry baby, you'll find him. I promise." She said with a reassuring smile. I tried my best to return it, but it came out forced.

I sat down next to my mom on the couch as she rummaged through a large pile of comedy movies. I didn't want to be alone tonight, so I asked her if she wanted to hang out for the rest of the night since her boyfriend was visiting his son a few hours away.
