Twilight's Last Gleaming

Shadow POV

I avoided Bellamy as I waited for Clarke to return to camp. "Come on" Octavia pulled me with her into an empty tent. "If it cleared the ridge. It's probably near the lake" Jones explained to Bellamy. "We should get moving, Everyone's ready" I stated, not looking at Bellamy. No one's going anywhere" Bellamy ordered. "Not while it's dark. It isn't safe" He informed us. I knit my brows together "We'll head out at first light. Pass the word around" he explained. Jones and his friend leave but when Bellamy tried to leave I got in his way, knowing he was hiding something. "Everyone for 100 miles saw this thing come down." "What if the grounders get to it first?" Octavia pointed out. "Bell, we should go now" Octavia suggested to him. "I aid we wait until sunrise" He glared at his sister before looking at me with sad eyes, causing me to feel uncomfortable.

It was about three hours before Clarke and Finn walked into camp. "Hey!" I walked up to her. "I see everybody's up" Finn pointed out. "You guys see that? It has to be from the Ark" I stated. "Grab your stuff. Let's find out" Clarke tells me. "Bellamy said we're gonna wait until sunrise" I informed her. "Where is he?" She asked me. I shrugged "Why would I know?" I nervously laughed. Clarke walked around me and into his tent. I followed her to see two naked women, causing my heart to drop. "Ever heard of knocking bitch?" She hissed at us, grabbing her clothes and covering herself up. Finn walked in "Oh, great. It's a free show. Does anyone else want to take a look?" She asked us. "Where's Bellamy?" I asked, wanting to slap her in the face. "He took off about an hour ago," She tells me. "Gear's gone" Finn pointed out. "He told everyone to stay" I knit my brows together. "Whatever's in that thing he wants it" Clarke stated. Anger rose in my blood, knowing not even a few hours ago we were about to...Then he just sleeps with two women like I meant nothing. Then he lied to me about leaving in the morning. "We've gotta get there before he does," Clarke says. We rushed out of the tent and followed her to grab supplies. "This isn't your fault, Clarke," Finn tells her. "I should've known he'd go for that radio" Clarke sighed as we walked towards the entrance to the camp. 'How were you supposed to know something like that?" Finn asked her. "Because he's spent every single minute since we landed making sure no one on the Ark finds out were alive" Clarke pointed out, grabbing a knife from a table as we pass it. I grabbed my bow and a handful of arrows I had made. "That doesn't mean you can predict what people are gonna do" Finn pointed out. "That's exactly what I have to do. I screwed up. Let myself get distracted" She sighed as we walked out of camp.

At sunrise and running through the forest. "We should split up, Clarke and I should go this way, you go that way" I suggested to Finn. We get to a clearing and I see the white pod. "Clarke! over here!" I shouted. We run-up to the pod and opened the hatch. I rushed in, gasping to see a woman, and next to her was my twin sister. "Oh my god," the woman with dark black hair looked over to my sister and then at me. "Hi..." My sister says with a smile. We helped them both out and Izzy arms wrapped around me. "Izzy! I thought you were dead" I say, hugging her tightly. "We made it?" Izzy asked me. "Yeah...You made it" I smiled, hugging her again. The girl with dark hair, turned in a circle with her arms out as it started to lightly rain. "I dreamed it would smell like this" She giggled. "Is this rain?" Izzy asked. I nodded, I couldn't believe she's alive. After all these years of thinking she was dead. There's so much I needed to ask her. Her blonde long hair is now cut really short into a pixie cut. She's got a ring on her nose and lip. "Welcome home," Clarke says to them both. "Raven? Izzy?" Finn called out, causing Raven and Izzy to turn around. "Finn!" Raven shouted, running at him and crashing her lips onto his. "Awe, aren't they perfect?" Izzy asked. I looked over at Clarke, her hurt expression on her face. "Yeah..." I whispered. "I knew you couldn't be dead," She tells Finn. "You're bleeding" He pointed out to Raven. "I don't care" She shakes her head. Izzy almost falls over "Alright...you need to sit" I suggested. I helped her sit next to Raven as Finn helped her down. "How'd you get here?" Finn asked. "You know that big scrap hold, the one on K deck?" She asked him. "You built that from scrap?" Finn asked in amazement. "I kind of rebuilt it" She corrected him. "We.." Izzy laughed. I knit my brows together when I realized how friendly he is to my sister. "Please you held my equipment" Raven jokes with Izzy. "It just needed a few parts and some love" Izzy explained to us. "You're insane" I stated to them both. "Here...Have some water" I handed Izzy my water bad. She takes a few drinks from it as Finn handed me a cloth. "We have things to talk about" I hissed at him lowly. I knew he wasn't just in trouble with me but with Clarke too. "She needs to put pressure on the wound" Clarke suggested to Raven. "This is Clarke. She was on the dropship too" Finn introduced her. "Clarke? Clarke Griffin?" Raven asked, standing to her feet. "This is all because of your mom" Raven explained. "My mom?" Clarke asked. "This was all her plan" Raven informed us. "We were trying to all come down together but if we waited..." Raven sighed. "Oh god...We couldn't wait" My sister whispered. "What are you talking about Izzy?" I asked her. "We couldn't wait because the council was voting whether to kill 300 people to save on air" My sister explained. My eyes widened, looking over at Clarke. "When?" I asked. "Today" Raven answered, walking over to the pod. "We have to tell them you're alive" She stated. "The radio's gone" Raven sighed. "What?" I asked, rushing over to the pod with my sister. "It must've gotten loose during reentry" Izzy suggested. "I should've strapping it the A-strut. Stupid!" Raven hissed. It then hit me, Bellamy. "No no...this isn't your fault. Someone got here before us" I explained. I turned to Clarke "We have to find him!" I raced off, knowing Bellamy is the only person that could've taken it.

I see him in the forest. "Hey! Bellamy!" I shouted. I grabbed him by the arm. "Where is it?" I asked him. "Hey kitten, You taking a walk in the woods?" He teased me. "Or you looking for another recap of last night?" He added smugly. I huffed, not wanting to even think about last night. "They're getting ready to kill 300 people up there to save oxygen and I can guarantee you to won't be the council members" I explained. "It will be working people, Your people," I tell him, poking him in the chest. "Bellamy!" Finn shouted. "Where's the radio?" He asked, shoving him back. Bellamy shoved him back "I have no idea what you're talking about" Bellamy lies. "Bellamy Blake?" Raven asked. "They're looking for you everywhere" Raven stated. "Shut up!" he hissed at Raven. "Looking? Why?" I asked, kitting my brows together. "He shot Chancellor Jaha," My sister tells me, causing Bellamy's eyes to go wide as he stared between us. I gasped "That's why you took the wristbands. You needed everyone to think we're dead" Clarke accused him. "And all that whatever the hell we want? You just care about saving your own skin" Finn says. Bellamy goes to walk away "Hey shooter! Where's my radio?" Raven pressed. "Get out of my way" Bellamy ordered. "Where is it?" She asked him again. "I should've killed you when I had the chance" He threatened her. "Really? Well, I'm right here" She pointed out. Bellamy suddenly grabbed her, shoving her up against a tree, putting his hand around her throat. "Bellamy! Stop" I shouted. Raven pulled a knife out on him "Where's my radio?" she hissed this time. "Both of you stop it!" I shouted, getting in between them, pushing Bellamy back. Bellamy glanced at me for a moment before turning away. "Jaha deserved to die. You all know that" He stated to us. "Yeah! He's not my favorite person either" My sister called out. "But he isn't dead" Raven informed us. "What?" Bellamy asked. "You're a lousy shot" Raven stated. "Bellamy..." I walked up to him. "Don't you see what this means?" I asked him, grabbing his hand. "You're not a murderer. You always did what you had to do to protect your sister, that's who you are" I reminded him. "And you can do it again, by protecting 300 of your people" I pointed out. "Where's the radio?" I begged him this time. "It's too late" he whispered.

We've been looking for the radio for a few hours in a river Bellamy threw it into. "What's going on between you and Bellamy?" Izzy asked me. "Nothing is going on between us" I hissed at her. "Do you forget that we're twins?" she arched a brow. "You have been defending him since I landed" she pointed out. "How are you alive?" I asked her. She giggled, shaking her head. "No...no changing the subject," She tells him. "You were always into the bad boys..." she sighed. It wasn't the bad parts of Bellamy that piqued my interest it was the good parts. I rolled my eyes "Hey! I found it!" I gasped, picking up the radio. Raven, Bellamy, Clarke, and Finn rushed over to me. I handed the radio to Raven. "Can you fix it?" I asked her. "Maybe, But it'll take half a day just to try the components to see what's broken" She explained. "As I said, it's too late" Bellamy sighed. Clarke goes running at Bellamy and I stood in the way. "Do you have any idea what you did?"She shouted. "Do you even care?" she asked him. "We asked him to help, He helped"I pointed out, defending him, I didn't know why I was even defending him. Maybe because if it had been me, I would do just what he did to save Izzy. "Shadow! 300 people are gonna die today! Because of him!" She shouted. "Hold up, we don't have to talk to the Ark. We just have to let them know we're down here. Right?" Raven asked. "Yeah, but how do we do that without the radio?" Finn asked. Raven smirked, coming up with a plan. She explained the plan of launching flares so the Ark would be able to see them. We headed back to the pod and began taking it apart. "We need to launch those flares ASAP if we have any hope of saving those people!" Raven called out. "Finn, get that control panel to the camp" Raven instructed. "Shadow! Pull out those firing circuits in one piece or they won't work" She explained as I yank them all out the right way before placing them into a bin. "Clarke? can I have a hand?" Raven asked. "Work these bolts here gently" She instructed Clarke. "Rocket fuel likes to go boom" She joked. "We're going to need the power to fire" She explained. "They're tying in the batteries to the dropship. Should be ready when we get there" Clarke explained. "Great. So what's the problem?" Raven asked her. Oh no..."Nothing...I just--" I cut Clarke off. "If we get the rockets to launch will they see them for the Ark?" I asked, cutting into the conversation. "As the good book says, it's all about burn time and cloud cover" Raven stated to me. "But, Clarke's mom is watching" Izzy stated, walking over to us. "I've never seen anyone love someone the way she loves you," Izzy tells Clarke, not knowing about her mother being the reason her father was floated. "You know that right?" Izzy asked. "I did..." Clarke says, the tension in her tone. "What was that about?" Izzy asked as we begin to walk away. "It's complicated," I tell her.

It's dark when we return to camp, everyone is building very quickly. "Move it! Come on!" Raven called out to everyone. I gather around with everyone, spotting Bellamy. I walked over and stood next to him. The flares go up in the sky "You think they can see them from up there?" Bellamy asked me. "I don't know, I hope so" I sighed. I knit my brows together "Can you wish on this kind of shooting star?" I asked Bellamy, reading about it once in a book. He looked over at me, knitting his brows together. "Nevermind..." I sighed a little. "I wouldn't even know what to wish for," Bellamy tells me. "What about you?" he asked me. I glanced at him for a moment "I see your sister is alive" Bellamy pointed out. "Yeah..." I whispered. I look over to Raven and see Izzy talking to her and Finn. "She's different though, different than I remember," I say. "You two look alike though," Bellamy says. I snort out a laugh "no, really I almost mistook her for you" He smirked. "About what happened last night," I say. "I know...I wanted to tell you--" I cut him off before he could finish. "I had a moment of weakness, we both did. I was upset about Charlotte and my judgment went out the window" I blurted out. "So, can we pretend it never happened?" I asked him. "I mean it's not like either of us has feelings for one another" I stated with a laugh. He cleared his throat, nodding "Yeah...never happened" he sighed. I nodded "Good, alright" I smiled. "So...friends?" I asked him, looking up. He nods once, letting me know we're good. The truth is there is something inside that may have feelings for Bellamy, but after finding those women in his tent hours after us almost...I couldn't let him do that to me. I needed to be strong, not fall for someone and become weak.
