Chapter 6: Loner

I turned my head to see a shiny red Corvette sitting there on the street with the keys in the ignition. I walked toward the beautiful car and set the generator down so I could run my hand along the side of it in admiration. "Well, I suppose the previous owner won't be needing it anymore." I quickly picked up the genorator again and hopped in without opening the door. I set my stuff in the passenger seat and turned the key to hear the car start right up. The sound of the engine radiated through me and the steering wheel felt so good in my hands. "Let's go look for a more permanent situation, shall we?"

John sighed as I turned onto the road and started driving at unreasonable speeds. 'You sure do listen to Erin a lot even though you don't have to.' I shrugged and leaned back in my seat as I enjoyed the breeze. "I know I don't have to, but so far he hasn't said anything I disagree with yet." John then had a realization of his own. 'Wait, that includes when he suggested intercourse with a zombie?' I shrugged again. "I told you. Ten percent. Down for anything. I'm just lucky the other ninety percent of me doesn't see that as my only option."

I continued driving down the abandoned roads until I found myself in the next city over. The landscape consisted of many houses on the hills and a small fraction of the city in the valley that was surrounded by a wall. I rolled my eyes when I saw it and kept driving up the hills until I saw a house with a huge front window that overlooked the valley. I hesitated and pulled into the driveway. I then hopped out of the car and toured the premises. The lawn was still green because of the Astroturf and the walls of the house carried beams that were slanted outward as a support for the upstairs balcony window.

The outward appearance was stunning and reminded me of something I would see in a magazine. "Let's check this one out." I walked to the front door and opened it easily. I found that not many people thought to lock their doors after being evacuated and thereafter eaten. The interior appeared messy and most of the furniture was knocked over. I could only assume that someone was attacked here. Other than the mess, the inside of the house looked acceptable. There was a big kitchen, a few bathrooms, and bedrooms, but my favorite part was the view from upstairs.

I wasn't fond of the city of survivors being the center of attention from this perspective, however, from this angle I would at least be updated and perhaps get a show once the zombies find a way to knock over that wall. I decided that this house would be a perfect living situation for me and went back downstairs to get my things. I had no complaints from the voices, and when I came back inside I hooked up the genorator and put my pizza in the oven. While it was cooking, I went to work cleaning up the place and made it presentable. I took a break when it finished baking and enjoyed my first slice of pizza in years on the sofa upstairs.

For the next few months, I had made that house a home, but there was a problem. I was extremely bored. Nothing ever happened as I watched the city outside, and the only form of entertainment I had was going out to find zombies to kill. Killing zombies was fun and all, but I couldn't kill all of them unless I didn't want to see the day that chaos killed the last of the survivors. The only other things I could do was clean the house or explore, and the house was spotless. There wasn't much to explore anymore either and I was running out of things to do.

I was lying on the couch in front of the window and listening to the voices in my head who were attempting to entertain themselves. 'Let's watch a movie.' Mary offered. "I don't like T.V." I sighed. 'How about a good old-fashioned game of chess?' John said with delight. "How about fuck you?" I grabbed the pillow next to me and put it in my face to scream with boredom. 'You guys shut up. Do you even know Kane at all? You live in his head and never bothered to tap into his limbic system?' Erin laughed. I removed the pillow from my face suspiciously. It had been a while since I said that I hadn't disagreed with Erin yet, and since then I have.

I have learned that he is random as hell and would suggest anything from trying to bite my reflection to force-feeding a zombie a burrito and seeing what happens. Then stabbing it with scissors. "What exactly did you have in mind?" I asked with my eyes narrowed. 'The reason you're so cranky is that you are not only bored, you are horny as fuck. So stop wasting time already and jerk it.' Erin said smugly. I rolled my eyes. "There is no way I am doing that with you guys in my head." I sat up and crossed my arms but Erin's confidence wasn't shaken in the least. 'We'll see about that after I do this.' Suddenly a bolt of electricity shot through my body and blood immediately filled in between my legs. "Ah! How did you do that?!"

Erin laughed again at my shock. 'I am your impulses, remember? I may not have any say in what you do anymore, but I have complete control over that split-second before you can think about what you're doing.' I didn't know how comfortable I was with the fact that Erin could control my dick, but he kept insisting. 'Come on, if you don't do it now it's just gonna hurt. I know you want to. We'll shut up, we promise.' I raised an eyebrow in slight disgust. "And why exactly do you want me to do this?"

'Because I love to get your blood pumping. A huge part of intrusiveness is suggesting all the kinky shit. Check this out!' A flow of nasty images then swept over my mind and it was everything from inappropriate to flat out fucked up. "Oh my god! Stop that! You think I'm going to get turned on by dark web shit?!" Erin giggled evilly. 'Would you care to look down?' I did as he said and was shocked to see that I had already reached down my black sweats and started jerking off. "Oh shit."

Erin laughed at my reaction. 'I'm in your head Kane. I know what you like, you messed up motherfucker. Hahaha.' His voice started to get fuzzy as I gave in to the feeling that I never thought I would experience again. "Just shut up and keep showing me that shit." I didn't hear from him again until I unloaded a hot mass all over my stomach. The experience was very freeing and I felt so light all of a sudden. I lay down again in release when I came back to my senses. 'Too bad you're stuck doing that by yourself until the end of the world.' Erin sighed. 'I know! If you insist on fucking a completely alive human, then you should go to that city and kidnap someone!' I rolled my eyes. "Can someone else talk now?"
