Chapter 10

It was 9:30 now and Kayla was still in Cosmos's house when suddenly Parker noticed the cut marks on Kayla's left wrist. "Why did you do this?" Parker asked while getting hold of Kayla's wrist. "Ah this. You know psychology says that when you're angry you should draw straight lines and when you're sad you should draw a rainbow and it makes you feel better." "So?" "I drew them on my skin and it has been helping me alot." "I think you're supposed to draw them on a piece of paper." "I know but it works better this way." Kayla said with a big smile. Parker didn't know how to react so he just kept shut while Cosmos tried to change the subject. "You've changed alot." "I know but I think it's better this way." "I both agree and disagree."

Kayla left his house around 10 and sneaked inside her room and went back to sleeping. The next morning she woke up early and prepared breakfast and left for her home. She crossed the road and went to Cosmos's house and knocked on his door. Cosmos opened the door while rubbing his eyes. "Good morning!" Kayla energetically yelled at him. "Gosh K. Don't you sleep at all." "I do but I'm an early bird so get used to it and why aren't you dressed for school?" Kayla questioned him while she entered inside his house. "Well it's just 6:30 so I was sleeping like a normal teenager." "You're up now so get dressed." "Okay but what about Parker?" "Leave that to me." Kayla entered Cosmos's bedroom and saw Parker sleeping peacefully. "Parks!!!!! Good morning!!!!!" Kayla yelled in his ears. Parker replied in a groggy tone. "Morning? It's good night for me." "Wake up sleepy bones." "Just five more minutes." "Okay but when I come back you better be up." "Gotcha."

Kayla went to kitchen and prepared pancakes for them and by the time she was done setting the breakfast on the table Parker and Cosmos were already dressed up and sitting down on the dinning table. "Wow. You can cook?" Cosmos teasingly asked her. "Well I'm half Asian and also due to my long time experience I know how to cook and clean." "You're a wife material, you know that right? You should marry either me or Parker." "I sincerely decline your offer." "Well I at least tried." Cosmos said it while looking at Parker. "Aren't you eating?" Parker asked her when she just stared at them eating. "Nah. I'm on a diet." "You're already skinny. How much more weight do you want to loose now?" "I can't risk it." "I ain't listening to you. Now open your mouth." Parker tried feeding Kayla but she kept on rejecting it so Cosmos held her hands while Parker forcefully put the pancakes in her mouth. Kayla swallowed it and warned them to not to repeat it to which they reluctantly agreed.

After they were done with their meal they left for school.No sooner did they reach school many people kept on waving at Kayla and some of them even came to chat with her. Kayla was in one of her classes when she kept on hearing whispers from the back but whenever she turned towards them they would just smile at her. During lunch break Kayla was roaming around the campus when someone approached her. "Hi. I'm Ben." Kayla knew him but she always kept a safe distance from him as she found him a pervert due to his behavior. "Hey! I'm Kayla." "Aren't you going to eat?" "Nah I don't feel like eating." "Then want to join us?" "Us?" "Yeah me and my bunch of dudes over there." "I think I'll skip." "Oh c'mon you don't have anything else to do so come join us." And with that Ben dragged Kayla towards the group of boys.

"Hey Kayla! I'm Ken!" One of them began. "And I'm Sam." "I'm Trish." "I'm Ronnie." "I'm Nathan." "And I'm Kelly." All of them introduced themselves and so did Kayla. They kept on chatting away when the bell rang so all of them departed after a fist bump. Kayla was in her class when Parker and Cosmos joined her. "Hey K! So Parks and I have decided that you will join us during lunch from tomorrow." "But why?" "It feels empty without you." "But I'm on a diet." "You can just sit there then." "But that looks weird." "Who cares?" "Okay then." With that both of them left. After school Kayla as usual went to smoke while Parker and Cosmos kept on watch. After she was done all of them left for their homes.

When Kayla went inside her house she found her mom sitting on the sofa. "Kayla. Where were you?" "School." "Oh. Now get dressed." "Why?" "We're going out." "I'm going like this." "Okay then let's go. You're sister and brother are waiting for you in the car." Kayla nodded and went with her mom. They went to a restaurant and we're waiting for their orders when her mom started introducing the guy that was driving the car. "Guys meet Earl. He and I are dating." Kayla didn't even pay notice to him as she knew that he and her mom wouldn't last long. After a painful wait the food was finally bought infront of them. Kayla ate her spaghetti and after she was done she went to use the washroom. Kayla puked out all her food it wasn't that she didn't like the food but instead it was her body that was rejecting the food. After she was finished she sat down with her family and chatted away like nothing had happened. "Guys I won't be in town for a while so can I trust you guys to be on your best behavior." All of them nodded to their mother's question and then her mom dropped them off at their uncle's place. Kayla went straight to her room and changed into some comfortable clothes and fell asleep after a few minutes.
