Chapter 1 - Lucy’s home

On a lovely day , we could hear the marigold sisters going at it again . This time they were fighting about who should use the SS first . (The SS is a short form for status scan. This is a special device that the Top wizard's gives to the top 2 ranked households.)

Lucy and Anne were sisters but they didn't look like it all. Lucy had long, curly black hair whereas Anne had short ginger hair. Anne had freckles and Lucy had weird pupils. Their parents made Lucy wear eye contacts so that she doesn't get picked on.

Lucy was seriously done with her sister. Anne wanted everything Lucy wanted.

The only thing on her mind was to get her parents inheritance and to marry off Anne. When they started fighting, their parents Mrs. Marigold and Mr. Marigold came in. There was something off in the way they acted but Lucy couldn't quite put her finger in it. Lucy didn't have a wonderful relationship with her parents. They were always forcing her to do things that she didn't want to do.

Lucy asked them when she was going to receive the inheritance. Her parents suddenly informed her that she has to go to the enchanted forest in order to get the inheritance . They told her that the Top Wizard's had ordered her to carry out the task. Lucy was very confused when she heard this . Why would the Top Wizard's want her to go into the enchanted forest with no survivors ? None of them had even gotten past the second monster. Lucy though about it for a while and decided against it. She told her parents that she was planning on not going. To this her mother scoffed and said that she has no choice in this matter. Lucy got angry and went to her room. It felt as if her parents want her to die even if she tried running away , they could easily find her as the Top Wizard's were the ones who had planned this. She thought about various ways she could escape her fate but she had no ideas. She would have to go there no matter what. She had given up on her life. There was no chance of her survival. She was sure that her family would be happy about her decision . She pitied herself all her life but this was worse. How could they want their own daughter dead? She started packing all the necessities and went out of her room. She made her parents promise that they give her the inheritance if she managed to get out of there alive. She made them sign a contract and left for her journey .
