Chapter 19: Speeding

Rhiannon's POV

"The Monday after a holiday weekend is always slow." Lauren leaned against the bar and tossed a rag to the side.

"You're just mad because you're sunburnt," Rhiannon chided.

Lauren touched her face gingerly. "You said it wasn't noticeable!"

Rhiannon laughed.

Two hands slapped on the bar. The girls jumped.

Rhiannon whirled around to face the source of the sound. Relieved, she sighed. Only John.

"Can one of y'all take me to the grocery store? Rich forgot to buy more lemons." John leaned one elbow on the bar, smirking at the two of them.

Lauren rolled her eyes. "You have that fancy a** car, is it too good to carry lemons?"

John laughed. "I stayed at Rich's place last night, we rode together this morning."

Rhiannon narrowed her eyes a little and frowned.

John turned to her. "Give me a ride?"

Dramatically, she rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. "I guess," she complained.
