New Life

Nova Smith had just turned thirteen, and his whole life was about to change. In a few days he would be leaving home to begin the military academy made compulsory by the government.

The Academy he was stationed at was called sect 3. There were a total of 4sects and anyone could be sent to any sect but they made sure to pick students from different areas so the student can meet and make interactions with different kind of people.

Nova had always felt like he was missing something. He'd lost his father when he was just five years old, and his mother, Luna, had done her best to raise him and his younger sister, Grace. But there was always a void where his father had been, and Nova couldn't help but wonder how his life would have been like if he had been there.

Now, at thirteen years old, Nova was about to take a big step into the unknown as he prepared to leave home and begin his training at the Military Sect.

Nova had always been small and skinny, often the target of bullies at school. He was often teased for his lack of physical strength and poor physique due to him having a poorly developed evolved body. The other kids would call him names and push him around, and Nova would always try to ignore them. But deep down, he was filled with anger and resentment. He vowed to himself that he would change. He would become stronger, both physically and mentally. He would never let anyone push him around.

As time passed, Nova devoted himself to his studies and to improving his physical strength. He read books on Martial arts and did alot of strength training.

At first, Nova's progress was slow. He was still smaller and weaker than the other boys, and he often felt like he was running in place. But he didn't give up. He kept training and working hard, even when it felt like nothing was changing. And then something shifted.

One day, in the middle of a sparring match, Nova had an insight, he was currently sparring against one of the top students in his class, Greg. Nova understood that his physique was nowhere close to the level of Greg but something brilliant happened to Nova he felt that the world became slower and at that moment he attacked Greg continuously and was able to defeat Greg with ease.

The match ended very quickly and Nova won the fight, since the day he beat Greg in the sparring match Nova kept on training and refining his techniques and also wondered how the world seemed to move slower almost as if time stopped during the sparring match. Nova was able to hone his techniques and he began to understand and use his time stopping technique the name he gave to the technique more efficiently and with relative easefor and improved rapidly, he may not have been blessed with a good physique but he was going to do his best to help humanity in the future.

Three years had passed since that fateful day and Nova became one of the best students in his class due to his high fighting IQ and continuous honing and usage of his time stopping technique and it was finally the day he was going to the Military Academy because he was now of age.

Nova didn't know how to feel he was both excited and sad at the prospect of leaving home he was excited on the fact that he was going to be able to meet different people and train at the academy and become stronger to protect his loved ones and he was also sad that he was going to leave he was feeling very conflicted at the moment.

The Military official stepped inside and surveyed the living room. His eyes fell on the small photograph of a man on the mantel and he knew immediately who it was. This was Nova's Father, a brave and honorable man who had given his life for Humanity in the battle against the Tarakians. The officials gaze softened slightly as he looked at the young boy standing before him who was barely 5 feet tall and had curly black hair. Nova told his goodbyes to his mother and sister and promised them that he would visit them when the academy was on break and would always try to contact them anytime he could, with tears flowing down his eyes he hugged them and left with the official to a teleportation portal that lead to his academy and new life.
