Investors

One person, that Jack hadn't met yet, jumped out of their seat. "What do you mean we aren't going to the same one!?" Someone pulled them back into their seat as Dr. Smith continued. "As you should know the human population far outnumbers how many people can fit on a planet, so we've had to create multiple, just like there are multiple tourney worlds and so on. Anyway, after the briefing concludes you will all receive a number and a letter anywhere from 1A to 5Z. The same is happening to all other players about to move on to Death's Kingdom, about a million will get the same as you. Now moving on from Death's Kingdom, let's go to your PUDs." When she said this it seemed like everyone's wristband had turned on automatically.

"You all have two new features to access, 'Skills' and 'Investors', first let's go over skills. Skills allow you to use milestone points to upgrade your body, physically or mentally. It could be anywhere from a small speed boost, to enhancing your vision by a mile, everything in there does something. Now you may ask, 'but how do you get milestone points?' Well, it's simple, get kills, the more kills you get the more milestone points, if you look in your skill tree you'll see that you have a recommended skill tree based on your class and personal traits however you can still access every skill there is to offer, if you go to the large skill tree you will notice that there are only three e skills that you can raise, it depends all on your current class, you may choose which one."

Jack looked at his skill tree, it was pretty large there had to be at least a hundred plus skills you could choose from but like Dr. Smith said there were only three available skills to choose from.

Lesser Eagle's Sight:

Vision's range increases by 5%

Lesser Speed Boost:

Speed increases by 5%

Lesser Thieve's Hands:

Hand and arm speed increase by 5%

Jack thinks for a couple of seconds, thinking about what each of them could do, smiling he presses 'Lesser Thieve's hands' and when he goes to take his arm away he could see the difference, it wasn't gigantic or anything, but in cases where he had to switch out guns quickly it would be amazing. Switching with guns is technically a lot faster than reloading if you do it in one swift motion, he knew that but before he didn't have enough guns to do so, but his 'investors' had given him two more handguns, he didn't realize why until now. This also gave a few theories to Jack, but he would save thinking about that after the briefing.

"A couple more things about skills, the more you invest into it the more Milestone points, and there is a max to every skill, varying depending on what it is, most percent skills stop at seventy-five to eighty percent, however, if your body can withstand higher for a large sum of milestone points you can bring it up to one hundred percent." Alex raises her hand. "And how exactly do we make it so our bodies can handle that?"

"Well, your investors could invest for a genetic enhancement so that your body can, you can do the same as well if you gain enough kills since kills still count as currency in Death's Kingdom, and for the rest of the worlds. You can also pay in a hundred milestone points which I will tell you isn't easy to get and even then, it will only work for one skill. The awakened however do have the ability to get skills to one hundred percent depending on their attributes." The screen changes to that of a futuristic city, flying cars, tall buildings, on the walkways there were some people walking along them and some small robots that seemed to be patrolling the place however there were some picking up some trash, making sure the walkways were in pristine condition.

"This is why many become players, so they can get a better life on the group of planets we call Eden. On Eden resides both retired players and investors, any retired player can become an investor however it also risks your better life on Eden. Investors can use their money, or their 'previous kills' to invest into a certain person, after picking one they can't change until that person dies, some of you have already been affected by investors, they can give you anywhere from a weapon or food to a new and even better eye. They will always have eyes on you and I'm sure rooting for you, assume if you don't have an investor your dying soon." When she says that a couple of people shift in their seats being a bit obvious about it.

"But hey don't let that discourage you, carve your own path as some say! Now the very last thing you need to cram into your head, your investors will get the kills that are invested into a player you kill allowing them to put more into you, the more investors on you the more you could possibly get. Investors will be anonymous, however, and you will only be able to tell how many you have, and how much has been invested into you. Now, that's everything so, any questions?" After a moment of silence, Dr. Smith nods,

"Then you will get a message telling you which Deaths Kingdom you will be going to, at ten you will all be teleported to the same place in case you want to say goodbye to any friends, when it hits ten ten you will be brought to your respective worlds by space travel." The screen turns off and the lights slowly brighten as everyone's wristbands could be heard making a ding. Jack looked at his wristband.
