The World's Shift

I, the suspiciously previously unnamed protagonist, have woken up to my normal everyday life after a strange 'dream' I had when everything is so different, even me. But even when the world and even people have changed, I kinda gotta keep on living, which is confusing when no one notices ANYTHING WRONG with the world.

Awkward Monday

So far the day has been pretty awkward. I mean, coming to school after everyone thinks you've been kidnapped is weird, and also I feel like I'm being watched again which isn't fun. I hope the feeling goes away soon.

I missed first period and half of second period, so I'm heading to Magic Studies. I may be able to at least get some work done, even if I only have half the time.

I walk into the room and see all my classmates lined up at the door. They bombard me with questions about what happened and how I got out, I just tell them the kidnappers were sloppy, not true saying they brought the whole anti-recognition bag thing, but it's a good excuse.

There are some people in the room who look furious for some reason, I wonder what's going on with them. Oh, they realize I've noticed them and are currently staring me down. Can there be any normal people in my school, or all we all weirdos. I honestly get less sure of the answer every day.

On another note, once the teacher got everyone's attention again and class started, all the stuff we went over was pretty simple. The basics of using magic and how to control mana flow, which most of which come naturally to me.

The rest of class is free time to study, so I just pull out a book on Gravity magic theory and start reading. No one else is really approaching me anymore, which I'll take honestly. It's a pain to deal with that stuff. I've been working on my communication skills and can probably hold a moderate conversation with someone for a short time, but anything dragged out or stressful is probably a no-go.

The next period goes by as quickly as the last. I feel like everyday is shorter than the last sometimes. Each class period feels shorter than it did at the beginning of the year, I don't know if that is because of me not really doing anything, but, yeah.

I'm only like a couple weeks into this school year too. I mean, there was the first week, which wasn't even a full week, then the school was attacked, after of which there was a week off. It's been a couple weeks since then, but that is still not long into the school year.

If only there was convenient magic that could make a double of me, so I wouldn't have to go to school... wait. Of course there is no such thing. I'm not gonna pull of some pseudo-science stuff outta nowhere, what am I, the Flash?

In all seriousness, I can't currently think of anyway to make a double of myself sadly. However, you never know what the future may hold I guess. I know that first hand, except in my case, I don't know what the past may hold either. People always say that the past is set in stone, but not in my case. The entire history of the world changed overnight.

I'm still not used to all this! I mean if someone got used to their entire life and reality being flipped on it's head that quickly, I'd worry about their mental health!

Fan Club POV:

"So she's back at school?"

"Yeah, apparently she escaped from the kidnappers and came to school the very same day!"

"As expected of Hime-sama!"

"Shut up weeb! Who actually throws around random Japanese phrases like that anyway! Even Japanese people don't say stuff like that! This novel doesn't need that level of cringe."

"Yeah honestly, this novel can't do that type of stuff. The author would cringe writing it if he had to deal with that type of stuff every chapter. Kun this, Chan that! People can't even use senpai properly, how would he deal with that!"

"Stop breaking the fourth-wall! You're running this joke into the ground!"

""""You just did!""""

"Okay, back on track, what should we do about this?"

"We can't allow the 'Floating Elf Princess' to be kidnapped again, can we?"

"No, of course not! I say we follow her and protect her from this type of stuff!"

"Yeah but, she's even stronger than us, how would we be able to protect her from stuff that she can't even protect herself from?"

"Idiot! Just like today, if she doesn't see someone, how does she know she'll be attacked and fight back! That's where we come in."

"Genius! All in favor of this say you agree."

"""""I agree!"""""

"Good, now that that's solved, lets get to work."

"Wait, who was watching Jess during Magic Studies, I saw someone staring at her."

""""I dunno.""""

Jess' POV:

Well, now that school's over, who needs the bus! Just a quick teleport and I'm home. Of course I teleported out of people's line-of-sight, I'm not making that mistake again, teleporting in the middle, or into the middle of a crowd. Now that I'm home, I go to my room and... fall asleep, I need a nap after what happened today.

Sorry for the short chapter, I have school stuff going on and homework. Also, I accedentally deleted like half of the chapter and had to re-write it lol.
