Chapter 17 Cursed pt3

Josh and I ran towards Marie's room as fast as we could. I could tell the bedroom door was wide open.

"Marie, are you here? Marie!!!" I yelled when I got close to the unopened window.

My only response was pure silence.

"Josh go to the front and go in at the entrance head towards the chapel and see if you can find Marie. If so start yelling me name and I will hear you and come running. Quick go." I yelled at Josh.

Josh's face got red with anger but he said nothing and did as I told him. I will never forgive myself if I let her get hurt or worse. I knew something bad happened to her when she was a kid before she got to the orphanage. Something more then just losing her parents. It took her almost two years to speak and stop flinching everytime anyone came near her. I swore I would always protect her. That is a promise I might of just broken and I couldn't handle that fact. I should of never ran off to find Josh.

I went straight to the window opened it up and climbed in. I did a quick look around and noticed that the VR suit was on the floor like it was thrown down after being forced off. Some of the books were on the floor haphazardly. Nothing else was wrong other then no Marie. Taking a deep breath I walked into the hallway. Three of the kids were in the hall.

I asked, "What happened? Who was screaming?"

They all ran inside their rooms except one looked at me, she was young maybe 5 I didnt know her name. She just pointed down the hall and went in her room.

I took off down the hall to see what was going on. I started hearing muffled screams and grunts, as I came around the corner I saw one of the girls from town had tied Marie up and was pulling her up to stand by her hair. She was only wearing her underwear and bra. Her dress was littering the floor in many different pieces.

*** Meanwhile from Marie's point of view.***

I sent Sam off to go find Josh, set about finding what I needed for my quest and then I decided to go out and get a drink and use the restroom. I had 15 to 20 mins left of my time limit that I gave Sam although I knew I would wait for him even if he was late getting back. My desire to go right back it was pretty strong. Patience has never been one of my best virtues in fact its one of my worst ones. I turned to look out of the window as I took off my VR suit so I could head to the kitchen. I opened my door and I heard a noise coming from behind men my VR suit fell off the bed I walked over and picked it up to put further on my bed when something caught my eye. It looked like Josh and Sam where coming back together. I smiled while still holding my suit and froze as I heard a voice I had nightmares about for the past 6 years.

"Hello, sweetheart. It was nice seeing you on the screen the other day. It made finding you even easier and I have been looking for you for a few years now." The man's evil voice said to me in a cruning tone of voice that tried to sound peaceful and sweet but I knew that tone of voice meant I was about to get hurt.

I screamed as loud as I could, I knew Josh and Sam would come running and help save me.

"No go away, I won't go back with you. You are a bad man and hurt me a lot." I tried to tell at him but it barely came out a whisper.

I could feel the panic set in. I tried to run to the window but was grabbed and hit on the head. Everything went black. The next thing I knew 3 was being tied up but a woman I had seen a few times from the village. No one else was in sight. I started to try to fight her but she grabbed a hold of my clothing, it was a dress with solid grey legging pants on my legs. She tore off my clothes like it was nothing and I started to yell at her. The next thing I know I had tape over my mouth and could go longer speak. I didn't remember it happening so I must of lost some time somehow. My head was throbbing and I was feeling confused and hopeless. He found me, I was at this woman's mercy and I was going to have to find a new safe place to be and I have to make sure I won't be followed.

I tried kicking her but she pinned my legs down by sitting on them.

"Shut up and be a good little girl. I dont want to hurt you. If you keep giving me problems I will take you out into the woods and leave you there for the animals. He wants you as unhurt as possible but I was told to do whatever it takes to make sure you get to him." The woman from the village said to me coldly.

I started to look around for anything that could help me. I tried screaming through the tape and ended up being punched in the stomach. I grunted from the impact. She was very strong or I was just that weak now. She stood up and grabbed me by the hair to try to pull me to a standing position. As she moved to the side I saw Sam standing there. He was pissed, his face was red, his hands were in fists but he just stood there doing nothing.

I started thinking to myself, why isnt he doing anything to help me? Why is he just standing there pissed off? I was paying him to protect me. Was he a part of this or being paid by them to not interfere? I knew it was just my fear playing a role. Sam is my best friend and would never betray me but yet here he was standing there and doing nothing.

I tried to tell Sam but the gag was too good and it caused me to be slapped.

"Be quiet or I will hurt you more. No one here will come to save you, they have all been ordered not to interfere with you and what is going on. You are a fool to live in a place run by the church. He controls the church. Now come with me willingly or I will knock you out and have you raped before you get to him or worse I will tell him you ran away and the animals got you" She said to me.

She grabbed my arm and opened the door to the small chapel. Josh burst in the other side and froze when he saw me.

"Marie, oh my god. Are you ok? You there let her go now.I dont like hitting women but with you I will make an exception if you do anything to her and dont let her go right now." Josh spoke up menacingly.

I was so relieved that my legs gave out and I collapsed to the floor. Josh wasnt just going to stand there and let them take me away. Why did Sam just stand there then?

I was grabbed hard and yanked again to try to gwt me to stand up. Thepain as so bad I blacked out for a sec. All I heard was what sounded like someobe getting punched. When I opened my eyes Josh hit the evil woman who was from the village and tried to take me away. She was on the floor out cold with a huge bruise forming on her cheek.

Josh bent down and started trying to untie my ropes around my wrists.

"Shh, it's Ok Marie, I am here and will protect you. Sam should be here any minute too. We will keep you safe."

I turned my head and saw Sam come in crawling low to the floor and crouch behind one of the pews. I was confused as to why he was doing that. A lot of things happened at once then and I am still not sure of their exact order. I am missing some time in my memory for sure.

I turned my head and looked around pain shot through my body and the lights went out for a second. I saw that evil man hit Josh. Sam must have moved from behind the pews and got behind the man and jumped on him. Josh got up the man got hurt and the next thing I know that evil man was gone. I was untied and my head was sitting in Sam's lap. I couldn't see Josh anywhere.

"Shh, Marie dont move, you are hurt quite a bit. I think you and I need to talk now seriously. Josh went to get a first aid kit." Sam told me quietly and filled with hesitation.

I tried to speak but found my throat was dry and it hurt to make a sound.

"W.... why? Sam, why didn't you stop her? Why didn't you protect me?" I finally managed out.

Sam flinched and got a very guilty look on his face.

"Marie, I was looking for the right time to catch her off guard before I made my presence known. I wouldn't of let her take you out of this building but I needed more room to move around and I figured she would go in the chapel to head to the outside door or she was going to turn around and have to go through me to get you out of here. I am so sorry that you got hit. I should of reacted sooner as well as never of left you in the first place. Please forgive me Marie." Sam said to me.

Right then Josh came back and heard me say, "Sam, you did nothing and just stood there looking at me. Josh saved me NOT you. You did nothing to help me and only protected Josh. I saw the look in your face and eyes. You had nobody home and was just going to watch them take me."

Sam teared up and turned his head away and said in a whisper, "I am sorry Marie, I failed you."

"What the hell is going on here!!! Sam... I... Whatever right now. We will talk later I need to get Marie tended to first. If I find out what I think I just found out then Sam you and I will finally find out who is stronger between us and I wont be friendly. Marie... Where does it hurt?" Josh said through clenched teeth and looking pissed beyond belief.

I put my hand on my head and came back with some blood on it. Josh immediately started moving my hair to find where the blood was coming from.

"Help hold her head up Sam, she is holding her stomach and trying to hide the fact it hurts just to hold her head up. You support her head so she can relax her muscles and not be in so much pain." Josh said with annoyance.

I realized then that I just might be seeing the end of their relationship between the two of them over this. Shocked I looked carefully at Sam's face from the corner of my eye and saw that he too seemed to be thinking about how he is messing up. I tried to look at Josh but he was behind me so I couldn't see him without moving and he was trying to stop the bleeding from my head that I didnt even know was bleeding until I took my hand away and saw it for myself.

"Ouch Sam too tight, Josh that burns... I think I am in slight shock right now. So cold and I have 2 hot guys touching me while I am most unclothed." I said slightly sluring my words.

I started hearing giggling and looked around for the noise. I think I got scolded by them both for moving around but I was more interesting in where the giggling was coming from. Finally I put my hand to my face and realized that I was the only giggling.

"Now I know something is wrong, really wrong. I need to get up now and go to my room. I cant be here anymore. It feels like if I keep seeing her body I am going to snap and go nuts. My friends in game are waiting for me to come back and finish the quest. I need to go now. Let me up NOW." I started off calm but by the end of that one I was starting to panic.

I need them to let me up now. I felt trapped and I started having flashback to the really bad days. Flailing around they both let me go and stepped back from me. Hold my stomach tightly I stood up as fast as I could and then froze. I looked down and saw my torn up clothes and realized that I was wearing almost nothing right now. I leaned against the wall and started walking using the wall for a support to get back to my room as fast as I could. I needed clothes right now.

Glancing back I saw Josh giving Sam a bad look and grabbing the first aid kit. Josh then started coming down the hall. He was following me which made sense given he wasn't dont treating me. I felt done though, I need to be away from men again. I looked down and felt something wet slide down my forehead and it went in my eye a bit. I put my hand up to wipe it off and it was blood. My head is still bleeding bad enough that I might need the hospital and stitches. I couldnt let that bother me right now. I got to my door and walked in my room. Josh was right their on my heels. I tried to shut him out but he put his foot in the door and wouldnt let me close and lock it. I moved to my closet and grabbed my solid white robe and put it on. I felt calmer with something on my skin.

I sat in the corner with my books and rocked a bit back and forth but my head chose at that moment to start to pound with my heartbeat and as I rocked the pound increased when I tried to stop my direction and go the other way.

"Ok Josh I think I can handle your touch again. Please stop my head from bleeding. I have surgical glue over there you can seal it shut with. Dont ask why I have it just enjoy that I do indeed have it."

"Here you go," Replied Sam as he handed him the glue.

I ignored Sam right now, I really didn't want to process what he did right now. There were more important things for me to do like finish my quest in game and get my items.

"Ok Marie, I am done with your head let me see your stomach." Josh said.

I wrapped my hands around my stomach. I didnt want to bear my skin to a male right now. Shaking my head was the best I could do.

Sighing Sam said, "Marie look at me please. Look here remember we are safe males, we dont like women that way. We would never do anything to you sexually. It's ok, remember who I am. I am your best friend. Would I ever hurt you?"

I thought about it. He was right, they wouldnt hurt me. I was safe showing my skin to them.

"My stomach is sore but ok. She just hit me really hard thats all. No blood, just a bruise." I said as one final last try to not have to open my robe up.

"You could have cracked a rib or have internal damage. I need to take a look sweetie, please let me help you." Josh said in a soothing tone of voice.

I froze in terror and spun to look at him. My pain no longer was felt.

"Do NOT say that to me again. Don't use his words and tone. I cant go back, you are working for him arent you. This was just a show to get me to relax huh. Sam.... Sam!!!" I started out firm and by. the end I was trembling and backing away from Josh.

I backed up and bumped into someone b I spun around and was about to scream before I realized it was just Sam. I turned back to look at Josh scared of him. Sam wrapped his arms around mw like he used to in my panic attacks that I use to have as a younger kid.

"Shh, Marie it is ok. Josh wont hurt you, I promise you that. Remember Josh is with us not them. He didnt mean to frighten you he was just trying to be soothing and help you relax. I am here you are safe. Remember you are safe right now with us both."

Nodding I calmed down again and showed Josh my stomach. He told me that I will have a bruise but will be ok there.

"I need to go back in my game now BUT I am afraid that I am not safe here now." I spoke up without meaaning too.

Josh replied, "Sam and I will both be here to watch over you while you are in the VRMMO and when you finish your quest we can look for somewhere else to move to somewhere else that is safer."

"Ok" I replied and got out a set of clothes and put them on so I could put my VR suit back on again.

Laying down I slid the visor over my eyes and turned the game back on.
