Chapter 10 My Decision part 3

While I was waiting for Sam to come back. I decided to shift the few things I had in my room around. I moved the VR suit box and a book fell out of the box. I picked it up and looked at it. What that book was shocked me. It showed a full VR pod set up that allowed the user to fully move while in the VR system. I looked all over in the packet for how to get it all but nowhere does it show how to get it. I realized that I am going to have to ask the guy who delivered the package how to get it when he comes back in roughly 4 days. Still wondering why, he was coming back made me think about that system and wondering if that is why he is coming back. I so wanted him to bring it back with him. The thought of being able to run, jump and move around in real life whole in the VR system cleared a fear I didn't even know I had. Getting too weak to be able to move around due to laying around in the VRMMO world was a real fear of mine. The realization actually scared me more then I will admit.

All of the sudden I heard a knock on my door. Without waiting for my response Sam opened the door up.

"Hey, here is your food and juice. Are you sure you are, ok? You ate less than a couple hours ago and now you are eating again. Usually, we have to twist your arm or remind you to get you to eat. Also, what did you say to the Father Gregory and Sister Amy to have them be so happy right now. I saw the Father about to sing AND dance and he looked overjoyed right now."

"Short answer, I gave them 2 Plat for the orphanage. I also made it obvious that as long as I am safe here, I will continue to help support the orphanage generously."

Sam looked at me like he thought I was lying to him.

"What did you really tell them?"

"You don't believe me? Ok I also said about me paying the deli to provide every one of the kids with a fresh and hot deli sandwich."

"I still don't believe you, Marie. Now tell me the truth."

I just stared at him a little bit upset that he didn't believe me after I was telling him the truth.

"I told you the truth. I could tell you that I told them I would become a nun and would support the orphanage while being a nun. Now THAT would be a lie."

Sam started laughing at that suggestion and smiled at me.

"Ok, ok I believe you and that would have been hilarious if you were you say that to them. As it would break the vow of poverty that a nun has to take as you would be making a lot of money. Please if you decide to use that line, PLEASE make sure I am there for it."

He hands me the food and I take it.

"Now eat it before it gets cold. Its cooled long enough that you won't burn your mouth now."

I took a bite and the taste made me smile and curl my toes with pleasure. I don't know what he does to make this grilled cheese but it is amazing and to die for. He will never make it unless the kitchen is empty and will throw away the sandwich half done or in any stage if he catches people trying to watch him make it. So cheesy and a mixture of creamy and spice. I have no clue what mix of spices, cheese and whatever else he uses. I took a sip of the juice and couldn't help but moan. He even made me apple juice by hand and used my favorite sweet apples. It had just a hint of cinnamon and something else in it too. I swear if he ever cooked for someone else, he would be proposed to on the spot. I know he hasn't cooked for Josh just yet. He keeps saying that he wants Josh to love him for him and not just for his cooking.

Sam heard my moan and looked at me curiously.

I set everything down quickly and covered my mouth. I couldn't believe that I did that in front of Sam.

"Sam, would you marry me? I don't care if you have Josh and sleep with him rather than with me. Just cook for me a few times a week. I would make you an ideal wife as we are best friends and I know your secret and will be good cover for you to hide your other relationship. You are amazing at cooking and could open your own shop if you wanted too. I would even help fund it."

Sam laughed and shook his head at me.

"Just enjoy your food and drink and keep your promise. Do NOT tell Josh!"

I nodded with a very huge smirk on my face. I saw someone stick their head in the doorway and give me a puzzled look. It was none other than the famous Josh. Sam was about to get it and have to spill his secret anyways. I was wondering when he showed up and how much he heard me say. Finishing the food, I set the plate on my dresser and the empty cup on top of the plate.

"Anyways, I am going to go use the bathroom and wash my hands and then go back into the VRMMO world. Sam, please stay in my room while I am in there. My room is on the main floor and I am worried about my window you know the lock is still broken. Hell, you know that better than most since you were the one who broke it on your middle of the night escapades."

I moved towards the door and Sam went over to my dresser to grab the dishes. As soon as I was outside my door, I waved Josh away silently. Josh smiled and moved into the bathroom fast that was across the hall that way I could use the other bathroom next door. He hides from Sam and I wondered what he was up too. After I left the bathroom, I found Josh crouching behind my headboard.

"Josh what are you doing?"

"Hiding from Sam."

"I get that part but why in my room? Why are you hiding from him anyways?"

"He told me that after work that him and I needed to talk. So, I figured I would come see you and find out why he needed to talk to me. I know we had an issue last time I saw him since I told him that I lost my job. He was very unhappy about that. So, I don't know how his current mood is towards me right now. Oh, by the way, thanks for the proposal to Sam. You are right that it would help us out a lot and you are the best choice I could dream of him being with. Women would leave him and I alone when we are hanging out or going on a date. It would look more like some guy time then it already does. I will talk to him seriously about the prospect. I know you wouldn't restrict him and I could be with him easier. Besides it would get you both out of here sooner since he will be 18 within the years end. Married you would be able to move in with him and have your own place."

I was shocked at what Josh said and that it was completely true. I didn't have to be 18 to leave this place then.

"Ok Josh if you want to hide here and surprise Sam you have two choices... My cramped closet or under my bed. I did clean under my bed 5 days ago so it is mostly clean and shouldn't be too dusty."

"Thanks, Marie. I mean it I can really scare him good under your bed."

I rolled my eyes and put the VR gloves back on and climbed on my bed giving him a look.

"He will be back very soon. I am paying him to keep me safe this week while he enjoys a paid week off work as well until the oxen team that I bought Mr. Smith shows up at the farm so they can resume work."

Sam rushed under my bed just as I heard footsteps coming down the hall. It had Sam's clear speed and gait to the walk. A couple mins later Sam walked back in my room with an odd look on his face.

"What's wrong Sam?"

"Did you see Josh? I was just told he came here and said he was going to see me. I told him I needed to talk to him today. I gave a note to his friend who was heading over to see him while you were picking out your sandwich."

I just looked at him and shook my head.

"Could he have gone to your room maybe? I hope he didn't go there and then leave because you weren't there. That would be horrible. What do you need to talk to him about anyways that you would risk your secret getting out to pass off a note to someone else? That worries me a bit."

Sam laughs at my seriously worried face.

"Ok now I know you saw him and that he is probably hiding in your closet again and is planning to try to scare me. Oh, as I was going to talk to him about a job opportunity that I heard about that he could qualify for pretty easily. I think you know which job that is."

He walked over and opened my closet and then froze as Josh wasn't there. I started laughing and shaking my head.

"Sam your hilarious, you seriously thought he would come to my room again and try to scare you again. That is funny. You do this every time he comes here and you don't see him. It was ONE time he did that and it's been OVER a year since then. Now pull your chair in here carefully and have a seat. If Josh is here, I am sure he will come to my room eventually to ask where you are."

Sam obeyed and sat down near my dresser so he could easily see the door and is near me at the same time.

"Oh, there is a booklet laying there feel free to look at it or enjoy your book while I am in the VRMMO. I will be probably in their quite a while. If something happens or you need me the red button right there will give me an alert in game."

I pointed to the button and then put the VR headset on my head and laid down.

The screen went black and then the loading screen started up.

While I was out to the world Sam was looking at me with an odd look on his face and in his eyes.
