Chapter 1-A man

It was cold and dark. The streets were crowded but none of them ever looked my way. My golden hair matted with dirt and my clothes tattered. It was all I have except for the sword and fan my family gave me years ago. And by God I will keep them with me till I die. I can't give them up even if they were worth a fortune for if I ever did my ancestors would turn in their graves and weep. It was a nightmare to even imagine.

The chilly air of winter had not subsided but the bustling people have long gone to their homes leaving the streets all to myself. I got up getting ready to find a warmer place to stay in when a man run into me sending me stumbling down. He had a wound on his arm while holding a sword in the other.

"Run." I looked at him and took pity in his form. He was wounded and he still acts strong. Im from the sage and warrior blood line to leave him be will be a dishonor to my family's great name.

"Leave him alone." I told the guys who arrived just a moment ago.

The guys looked at me and laughed.

"What are you gonna do about it bitch? " I smirked and took my fan out making them laugh more.

"I don't want to hurt you" They laughed even more making me smirk at them.

"Just get them both we can not leave any traces behind." They all come for us I run to the guy with my fan closed and used it to disarm him he dropped his sword which I strongly hit in order for it to fly to the other guy who was behind me. Someone threw a dagger which I caught in between the fan's ribs. I closed the fan breaking the dagger in half.

I looked at the man and saw him fighting the others as well. I open the fan again this time activating the bladed ends. I ran full speed to the man while cutting the enemies in vital parts to keep them down. A man surprised me and was about to attack when I used my flexibility to bend backwards and flip kicking the guy in the chin.

I ran to the man cornered and weakened I cut the enemies in their pulses rendering them powerless.

Thank God I was still flexible and graceful though it has been years since I have practiced.

A few moments later a group of men in uniform came making the goons run. A man came down the horse and pushed me aside. He helped the guy who was almost unconscious and ride away.

Well, I guess the streets are mine again.

I dusted myself and picked up my sword I left on the ground. I cleaned it up using my tattered shirt and hugged it close to myself.

I was about to walk away when I saw a glimmer on the puddle of blood and so I went to pick it up.

It was a jade symbol. That man must be a noble but where do I find him?

I took it with me and tomorrow I fill try to find the inn that man stayed at. Maybe he is still there or at a medic's house.

All Lier knows is he needs to find the guy and give it back. It was his and she was raised with morals.

She looked at the jade and decided it was not special enough to change her morals. What she didn't know is that it was enough to change her life.
