4. Nobody Likes a Rogue

Rogues are the werewolves who do not have a formal pack. Whether it be because they have been thrown out or due to their pack being wiped out. Either way, rogues are bottom of the barrel.

Werewolves are typically very social creatures so some rogues form alliances to create illegitimate or 'feral' packs while others roam alone. Unless the Were is a part of a pack blessed by the moon goddess herself, the rogue will have the most foul stench. Feral pack or not, they are normally detectable from great distances.

In this case, she isn't lucky enough to have come across a single nomad.

The eerie silence breaking from the deep, rough voice of a man. "You just had to come out this way? Do you plan on leaving your pack? Patrols come in pairs so you aren't out here for that. Whatever it is, we'll make great use of you."

Dark laughter fills the forest. Finally the man steps out from behind the bushes.

His height reaching approximately seven feet. Males are often ginormous but this is a little outrageous. Even his figure is perfectly sculpted, shoulders broad and his muscles bulging from his body.

Angelica is consumed by the moment, a little dazzled. He has a single scar cascading the left side of his face. He just shifted from wolf form so his appendage merely dangled as it was. Normally this isn't an issue considering Were's often shift amongst each other but this is different. This man is the one fated to her. She can feel it.

That strong, alluring musk that comes to her is unmistakable. He absolutely is her fated pair.

He doesn't sense it right away but once the wind changes direction, he stumbles back. At first his expression bears shock but soon changes to curiosity.

"Who would have thought...my little mate stumbles her way to me. Very convenient." He chuckles, shaking his head. Regaining his composure and taking a step forward.

This definitely isn't part of the plan. He is definitely over a foot taller than she is. The fact that Lilith started howling then purring in the back of her mind is definitely muddling her thoughts.

Instinctively when he takes that step towards her, she does the same. 'Fucking idiot! Shut the hell up LILITH! This is NOT the time to be doing cartwheels!' She blasts through the link with her wolf. Getting close to him is insanely dangerous. She doesn't know who he is and to top it off, he is a ROGUE.

The most smug grin grows on this mans face. "Darling, don't try shying away from me now. I already know that you...are MINE." His hand quickly darted out to grab hold of her arm. His grip like a vice as he attempts to yank her closer.

"What...was that? I am yours? I, I am better than a rogue like you. I belong to nobody." Angelica states while ripping her arm out of his grasp. Pigs will sprout wings and fly before she ever allows somebody to claim her like an object.

Concentrating in front of him is not the easiest thing to do but hearing him say that she is HIS. She doesn't even know his name. Fated pair or not, he is still a dangerous rogue.

That smug grin on the large mans face slowly begins to fade. His once slightly amused appearance grows cold.

"Repeat yourself, you are better than a rogue? You, a tiny female is better than me?" The man speaks quietly, his voice remaining firm. "A mere peasant girl like you, don't make me laugh. I, the great Gabriel Vasgez am the strongest rogue alive." His eyes hold nothing but chilling certainty.

Angelica can feel her body freezing under his firm gaze. For a fleeting moment she could feel the desire to submit to this man, Gabriel. 'No! Angelica, you cannot do this. Run. I have to run, get away. He will only get into my head.' She thinks as she stumbles back, just barely managing to prevent herself from tripping over a tree root.

Quickly she turns herself around and begins to run. This time she couldn't enjoy the earth beneath her. Gabriel isn't alone, although she hasn't seen them with her own eyes she could feel that they were there. If it is her against Gabriel she may have a chance, but she doesn't know his numbers.

'Mother, father! Rogues! Along the northwest border, don't know how many. They're coming I-' Angelica attempts to alert the others through the pack link, which in short is a form of telepathy that only connects to pack members.

While trying to get her message across she felt heavy pressure plunge into her back. The force knocking her to the ground and before she has a chance to process, she can feel Gabriel holding her head to the ground while using his body to keep her pinned.

The sparks shooting through her body wherever their skin touches completely betrays her. She wants nothing more than to hate this man but those precious sparks and his intoxicating scent isn't something that can easily be ignored.

Gabriel grabs a handful of Angelica's hair and yanks her head back firmly. "Running away after spewing that nonsense? That's rich." He chuckles, running his tongue over his canines.

His amusement quickly vanishing once again. Gabriels ears began to twitch faintly before he let out a lowly snarl and slamming her face down into the dirt . "You stupid bitch, did you call for back up? You were stalling?!" His growl deep and fierce.

As the leader of the rogues, Gabriel begins shouting out orders through the ferals' link. From Angelicas point of view that's what it appears to be anyways.

With the way Angelica is being pinned, there's no way she can possibly get a single word out. Breathing is hard enough as it is.

In only a few short minutes, Angel found that Gabriel has brought her to a clearing. Her arms twisted behind her back with her legs bound together. She can't quite see what has her legs tied together but she does know that getting free is her top priority.

"Gabriel, was it? Come on, this is a little absurd. Just put me down and I will gladly go." Angelica hums, getting the words out was much more difficult than expected. She knows it is simply wishful thinking but asking never hurt. At least it shouldn't have.

Gabriel already has quite the reputation and everybody knows it. She really shouldn't have tried asking this time because his response is to lift her up off the ground by her arms that are still very twisted behind her back.

"Silence. You brought this on yourself. We could have been civilized but you just had to try making a run for it. Even calling for help. You can hear them, can't you?" Gabriel whispers into her ear, not caring about hiding his smugness.

'How can I get out of this situation with my own power? Lilith is still on cloud nine about meeting her mate and anything I try to do that involves Gabriel will set her off. Fated mates are a bit more of a nuisance than I thought.' Angelica groans internally.

The crackling of leaves and branches beneath someones feet snapped her out of her thoughts. Her gaze instantly snapping up and to Angelicas surprise, there are two people standing at the border of the clearing. Her parents.

'It isn't only them. There is also...Damon? Is that really him?' She is genuinely confused as to why he is here but the other warriors hiding in the forest are to be expected. 'Now the question is...did they come for her or to get rid of these rogues?'
