...

Young Mirae's ears had enough of listening to the boring talk of the police officer sitting on the other side of the desk. Her head could not process the words she was hearing. She felt her ears were steaming, overheating at the very moment.

Around the same period, Young Mirae attempted her best to ignore the loud shouts coming from the other corner of the room. It seemed she was not the only one with a dilemma.

Earlier that morning, when she was about to eat a piece of her chicken wings, a police car pulled over at the dark alley. Following this were two police officers showing up, asking her for proof of identification.

As Young Mirae could not give what they were asking for, she just handed over the folder she was reading earlier back then.

A few minutes later, they started claiming she was driving a motor not registered under her name, and earning multiple tickets for red-light violations and speeding.

Quite sometime when one of them was speaking this nonsense, the co-officer interrupted and asked her about the 'odd' clothes she was wearing. Young Mirae could not pass an answer, hence the police dragged her to the station for a few questions.

How long since they pulled her in? Peeking at the wall clock placed in the middle of the room, Young Mirae found out that it had been more or less four hours since she was in the police station.

What a liar. Young Mirae thought that she and the female employee had an agreement together. She even gave her a pack of cigarettes, yet the employee dared to deceive her. Right now, Young Mirae wanted to take another brief visit to the chicken store and strangle her to death.

"Blah-blah, yadda-yadda. Sir, you keep on talking endlessly. When can I eat my special spicy chicken wings? The chocolate bar will also melt if I won't eat it, you know?" she whined, her shoulders flopped at the end of her question.

Young Mirae sensed her stomach rumbling. Damn, her stomach hurt more than her wounds and bruises.

Why won't this man stop his nonsense statements already? She was showing him she had no desire to listen to what he had to say. On top of everything else, he was making her waste her food and money!

"Ms. Baek, do you...want us to bring you to the hospital?"

"No, I am hungry. I want to eat my food."

"...I told you, you can eat your chocolate now. And once you tell us what happened to you, we will let you eat the chicken wings next." The officer sighed between his words. "Also, didn't we agree earlier before beginning?"

"You snatched it from me," Young Mirae hissed, "And, didn't I also tell you that I need to eat the special spicy chicken wings first before the chocolate? You're ruining the proper order of eating them, Mr. Police Officer."

The police officer soon placed a hand on his head and released a sigh, again. In the coordinated moment, Young Mirae rolled her eyes in frustration as he could not understand a few words.

"...It's fine, it won't melt. I put the chocolate bar inside the refrigerator," recited the other police who disappeared an hour or so. When he took a seat beside his co-officer, he swiftly put the folder on the desk before sliding it in front of her.

Young Mirae pulled the yellow folder in her hand, hoping that her long-lost twin sister would forgive her for using her identity. Baek Sunhi would not mind it, wouldn't she? After all, they were siblings, and the family had to stick together and help each other.

"Ms. Baek, considering you lied to us saying you do not know anyone to contact and affirming that none of them are alive, although having one in your identification, I hope you would not mind me calling someone's contact that is written on there to clarify."

"Why?" Young Mirae's lips let out a query. Her ears suddenly worked properly when he stated this.

Why would he do that? Oh no, if the police officer called the emergency contact person in Sunhi's identification papers...that would mean she might meet her twin sister sooner than expected!

She must apologize immediately once this contacted person arrived at the police station, considering he was assuming to see Baek Sunhi but ended up seeing a stranger instead.

"Eh? No, wait a minute. I looked identical to Baek Sunhi regardless, right?" she audibly mouthed, pointing a finger to herself.

The only exception, however, was the length and color of their hair. The woman in the photo had short black hair, while hers was currently at a medium length and dyed in ginger color.

Well, Young Mirae could just tell a few lies and make the person believe she was Baek Sunhi — disregarding the differences with their hair. If Young Mirae succeeded, once she got away from the police station, in that instant she would confess the truth.

"What did you say, Ms. Baek?"

"Oh sorry, Mr. Police Officer. So, who did you call again?"

"I believe it's your grandfather."

"You talked to my grand-gran? Do they allow everyone to bring their cellphones in heaven?"

"What?"

"Huh?" Young Mirae felt frustrated by simply talking to the chaotic police officer.

How could it be? It was possible to talk to someone who died. If he could speak with her dead grandfather, then she might as well!

"Can I talk to him, too? I want to talk with my grand-gran!"
