The wolfs mate

Max locks the door behind them and crouches down next to Marcy they are both shaking. Max lifts her phone and notices that Dexter hung up. The girls are locked inside with no way of knowing what is happening outside of the bathroom door. They know the wolves have arrived, they are there to try and protect them because they can hear howling and screaming coming from right outside the door. Marcy held Max as she cries quietly into her shoulder and they both slide down the bathroom wall to crouch on the floor. The screams and banging continue from outside the door and it sounds like the whole house is going to cave in at any moment. After the girls huddle there for what feels like hours the house suddenly goes quiet. Marcy looks at Max and asks "where is Ian, do you think he knows?" Max hugs her tight and looks around the bathroom as if she is trying to figure out their next move. "Max" Dexter yells from downstairs. Max slides herself across the bathroom floor and places her hand on the door. "It's gonna be okay" max says and lifts herself off the bathroom floor and then swings the door open ready to Sprint down the stairs to Dexter, but Max is met with Ian's gaze instead. His eyes no longer an emerald green they are now a dark mossy color filled with hear and rage only enhanced by the hunters blood on his cruel twisted face. "I'm gonna go see who needs my help" max stammers as she ducks around Ian who was looking through her and right at Marcy any ways. "Marcy" Ian says as he moves twords the woman who is still curled up shaking involuntarily in the corner of the bathroom floor. He reaches out his hand to help her up "are you okay?" Marcy looks up to meet his gaze and nods her head reaching up to his extended hand. Ian pulls Marcy out of the floor and can read the shock on her face. "It's okay, it's gonna be okay.

the dream

* "It's gonna be okay Marcy, I've got you."

Marcy could hear Ian talking to someone else but couldn't make out what was being said, as she drifted in and out of consciousness. Marcy opened her eyes, she was under water it was an array of blues and greens shimmering from the light above her. Her head throbbing and chest feeling like it will cave under the pressure and the lack of oxygen. She couldn't hold her breath any more, she was gonna die and knew it. Her eyes going wide as she tried to reach the surface of the water, her only chance for survival. The surface just out of her reach as she thrashes. Marcy starts to sink as she exhales and air bubbles float to the surface. No longer able to fight her instincts Marcy inhales a mouthful of water. She closes her eyes admitting defeat.

Marcy opens her eyes shes laying on what appears to be the ocean floor, sandy covered in shells and corals of all colors. She's fine, she can't believe it she inhales again with a look of pure confusion on her face. pushing herself off the ocean floor she sees it something large in the distance and it isn't a fish and it's moving twords her fast. Marcy pushes herself up to swim away but it's to late. There it is, there she is. Marcy is staring back at herself, only this version of herself is different. She glistens reflecting sunlight just like the ocean itself. Her eyes were big and black, her skin pale almost translucent and naked. Most noticeable however was her now existing tale fins. More bazar and beautiful than anything she had ever seen before.

She now hovered only feet away from herself. They stared at one another for a while when Marcy reached her hand up and out twords her mirrored self and her mirrored self followed suit. Right before she could reach her extended fingers her mirrored self started to change. Her once black eyes turned amber with worry, her skin taking on a golden fur coat. Her bones starting to contort and break shifting her from fish to beast. Marcy looked at a half fish half wolf and the fur was spreading down her tail like a furry sea creature from nightmares.

The once mirror self looked at her once more holding her gaze. Almost as if she wanted to tell her something. It lifted it's paw in the water before drowning right before her eyes. Slowly trashing and sinking to the ocean floor where Marcy had lifted herself from only a short time before. The wolf and the mermaid were not one, could not be one. They killed each other, is that what was happening was she dieing Marcy wondered to herself. She could feel herself crying from terror and shock. "Marcy.... Marcy....Marcy it's fine just breathe"
