Chapter Forty: A surprise attack happens while Zach is gone

(Ava's Pov) I decided it was to tell Zach and everyone about me being Lycan Queen. I said, "I don't need you and Isabella to go with me. I can handle telling them by myself." Drake said, "Fine, but you better back before dark." I nodded and went out the door. I shifted into my regular wolf-form not wanting to raise any suspicions.

I headed towards the pack and got stopped by three guards. I didn't recognize any of them. I said, "Where is Jake and the other guards?" One of them said, "Probably dead!" I said, "Where is Alpha Zach and Luna Emily?" They said, "They're no going to run this pack since our Alpha is taking over." I growled at them and then howled for Zach. When he didn't answer, I attacked the three guards killing them, and ran towards the pack house. I went towards the house and spotted Rebecca being held by someone in a hood. I ran over and bit the person. The person was none other than James who smelled like an Alpha. He kicked my side and that caused me to hold onto him even tighter. Rebecca said, "Don't let him go, I'm going to get Zach and the others." I knocked James over and pinned him down. I said, "How are an Alpha now and why are you attacking this pack!?" He replied, "It's none of your business runt!" He obviously didn't recognize me and I was furious. I used my Queen voice for first time and said, "It is business because this is my family's pack!" He shuddered after hearing me speak and whined. Zach came running with the entire family including Jake and Rebecca. I said, "What the hell is wrong with you, Zach!" He replied, "We'll talk about it later Ava because now is not the time." I rolled my eyes and looked into James's eyes. He submitted immediately and asked Jake to take him to the dungeons. I said, "Now is the time to talk Zach." He replied, "I was out of pack lines dealing with a meeting when you howled for me. I didn't imagine something like this was going to happen while I was away." I said, "Ok. Now I'm going to get to the reason I'm back early. I decided it's time to let you, Ace, and Matt in on my position. I'm the Lycan Queen because Mom passed down the title to me. Before y'all start asking questions there's a good reason why Mom, Dad, Jake, Spade, and my mate's were the only ones to know about it."
