After walking for a few hours, Paul and Jack were finally able to see the city Lirilia in the distance.

- * sigh * we finally arrived, now we can rest in a good place- Paul sighed with relief before turning his head in the direction of Jack and say - What do you think Jack? -

-woof- Jack nodded also relieved.

Paul was not surprised by that answer after all both were exhausted both physically and mentally because of everything that happened a few hours ago. In a short time they both experienced many dangers, Jack was almost kidnapped, and Paul was almost murdered. Finally, they also discovered that some powerful person was probably following them for some unknown reason.

Adding to that, in the battle they had they won some cuts and were physically exhausted.

Because of these factors, all they could think about was arriving in Lirilia and renting a room to rest all night.

Although they were both distracted thinking about where they would sleep today, they did not stop their steps and approached the control point of the city.

Leaving his thoughts, Paul observed the control point that was in front of him. Fortunately, the place was empty, probably because the night was approaching, so Paul and Jack approached the only worker they saw nearby and Paul spoke to him.

-Hello, good afternoon- Paul greeted before continuing –I come to request entry to the city for me and my friend here- Paul said while pointing at Jack.

The worker nodded and replied - good afternoon child, are you coming without your parents? - asked the worker to which Paul nodded and replied.

-Yes, sir, I'm on a trip to the capital to enroll in a magical school- Paul answered and clarified.

The worker seemed to understand everything and nodded - I see, seeing that there are still a few weeks left for the inscriptions I suppose you are acquiring experience on the trip - said the worker.

Paul was a little surprised because the man guessed it so fast. The worker noticed that and said with a smile - do not be so surprised because seeing children like you are not so rare, after all, every time they open registration for magical schools, some parents send their children alone to acquire a little experience before they enter school- clarified the worker to Paul.

Paul nodded and was about to thank the man for clarifying him, but before Paul opened his mouth the man spoke again. -A few days ago another child of your age was traveling alone to the capital with the same objective of yours, I think his name was Luis or something-

Paul was surprised by that information because if what he thought was true, the person who is also traveling was the same one he met at the discovery ceremony.

Thinking about that possibility Paul got a little excited, after all, someone that he knows and is the same age also travels and is probably close. Paul just hoped to run into him on the road and be able to travel with him to the capital.

Leaving those thoughts aside, Paul returned to focus on the worker who seemed to be asking him something.

-Then which one do you choose boy- said the worker to Paul.

Paul, ashamed for not hearing the question when he was distracted, said - I'm sorry, could you repeat the question? I was lost in my thoughts - Paul said a little flushed with shame at ignoring the man.

The worker just laughed a little before answering - don't worry about that boy, I was asking you if you want a short, medium or long-term license -

Paul was confused by those options, he knew that they should give you a license when you entered a city but he didn't know they were of different kinds.

With confusion, Paul asked - Can you explain each option, please? - Paul asked the worker.

The worker nodded and asked - do you know what the scanners are for in the city? - the worker asked Paul as he pointed to a black box that was near the entrance. Paul nodded remembering the information he had about that.

According to what I knew, at each entrance to any city, there is a scanner in which people who want to enter the city have to register, that scanner as its name indicates it scans you, this is to save your image and energy signature within a magic core that is located somewhere in the city called "data core." This is intending to prevent any monster that can take human form from entering the city and also helps if someone commits a crime within the city, the guards can track it looking for its image in the nucleus and chasing its signature of registered energy.

That was all Paul knew about the scanners. The worker, seeing that Paul nodded, skipped the explanation of the scanner and continued - well, and do you know anything about the licenses? - The worker asked Paul.

Paul shook his head and replied - I only know that they are something you get when you enter a city -

The worker nodded and explained - as you know, people are scanned and recorded in the data core in the city - Paul nodded and the man continued after seeing him - but this process has a defect, is the data core has a limited capacity, of course, that amount varies depending on how large the core is, but that does not change that the core has limited capacity - the man continued his explanation.

-Then for that problem, the licenses were created. Licenses are like a temporary inscription in the kernel as you disappear along with people's data after a certain time. That's why people choose what kind of license they want depending on the time they will be inside the city - The worker continued with his explanation.

-That's why I gave you a choice between those options, the short-term license can only be used for a maximum of 10 days and costs a gold coin, the medium-term ones can be used for a maximum of one month and will cost ten gold coins, and the long-lasting ones will last a maximum of one year and will cost you 100 gold coins. But of course, if you want to move to the city for your whole life you will have to go through another process to register directly in the data core- the term of explaining the worker to Paul.

Paul nodded with a bit of a headache for all the information they gave him, but still asked - What would happen if my license time ran out and I am still inside the city? -

The worker upon hearing his question answered patiently - if your license time is running out and you are still inside the city then the data core will feel like an unknown energy signature and will send an alarm to the guards to persecute you and check if you are a threat to the city, if you are not, they will simply take you out of the city but if they qualify you as a threat then they will eliminate you- The worker answered before finishing asking - what option will you choose?-

Paul did not think much when he said - I want a short-term license please - asked Paul while paying with the money he had previously stolen from the people who attacked him.

The worker nodded but before he said anything Paul spoke again - by the way, how did Jack get in? - Paul asked as he pointed at Jack.

The worker just looked at Jack before he said - you don't have to worry about it, he will enter the scanner with you and register as your pet. By the way, you will have to pay 5 silver for him and if he commits any damage you will be responsible - the worker replied kindly to Paul.

Paul found no problem with that and paid the money since he doesn't believe Jack causes unnecessary problems.

Receiving the money and seeing that there were no more questions, the worker guided Paul to the scanner and explained what had to be done - well now he just enters the scanner next to Jack and waits a minute while he scans you-

Paul nodded and picked up Jack with his hands before entering the scanner.

Seeing Paul ready, the worker pressed a button to start the machine. After pressing the button, the previously black machine began to glow while scanning Paul.

Meanwhile, inside the scanner, Paul felt like strange energy began to surround him throughout his body and pressed him a little.

After a few seconds, the scanner was about to finish the scan when it suddenly stopped shining for a second before turning on again but now shining red. The red color only lasted a few seconds before returning to white and shortly after finishing the scan.

The worker who saw this strange event was surprised because he knew that the color red meant. When the scanner glowed red it means that the one they are scanning is a monster.

-but that could not be this case- the worker told himself because he had seen once when a monster was scanned and from the beginning, the scanner shone red and never shone white.

This only managed to baffle the worker who did not know what to do in these cases, but after a little thought, he decided that this happened because he was being scanned next to the animal named Jack.

Coming to that conclusion, the worker did not release any alarm and normally created Paul's license.

Shortly after Paul left the scan with Jack without knowing the small problem he generated while he was being scanned.

-ready?- Paul asked as he left the scanner and approached the worker.

-Yes, it's ready- the worker replied while handing Paul a card.

The card he gave was small and fit perfectly in his hand, it was written some very basic things like:

* Class: Body wizard /?

* Race: human /?

* Age: 12 years old

* Hair: black

* Eyes: silver

*Male gender.

* Pet: wolf /?

And next to that information was an image of him. Paul was surprised that by just reading his energy signature they could know what kind of wizard he is and his age, he even knew Jack's race.

But what left Paul confused was the question marks in his race and class, there was even one in Jack's race.

Although confused, Paul did not know if he should ask, after all this could bring trouble. But on the other hand, it could bring you even more problems in the future if you didn't find out what it was.

Seeing Paul's hesitation, the worker asked - what's up boy ? is there a problem with your license -

Paul did not know what to say, he knew that no one could see what is in his license unless he looks directly at the core of the city. But that was not surprised that the worker did not know the anomalies of his card.

After a little thought, Paul replied - it's just that in the place of the eyes appears silver plus a question mark - Paul lied.

Upon hearing that, the worker nodded and replied - you don't have to worry about that, that kind of thing happens sometimes when a mutation occurs in the eyes of the discovery ceremony, causing them to acquire an unknown color. So when they create their license, the scanner places the most similar data, for example, in this case, your eyes had to change at the ceremony- Paul nodded when the worker said that - then they changed to a color very similar to silver but that technically did not It is silver, so the scanner described it as silver but placed the sign to show that it is just something similar-

-I see, thank you very much- after hearing Paul thanked and continued –Now I will enter the city, thank you very much for explaining so many things, goodbye-

The man nodded and said goodbye - don't worry, bye -

Paul turned around as he headed inside the city and thought about what he just heard.

As explained by the worker, he was not human, he was something similar but he was not technically human, the same goes for Jack's race and his class.

Paul just sighed and stopped thinking about it, too many things had happened today and he just wanted to get to an inn and sleep. Tomorrow he would worry about that.

That was Paul's thought as he entered the city.
