Chapter 24: Cade Brings Breakfast

Rose still couldn’t get her meeting with Cade’s family off of her mind. They had been warm, but boisterous. She’d felt welcome and revered. The last part was odd to her. She was just going to be his wife. She didn’t even know if he’d shared that part with his family or not. It had never come up in any conversations, so she hadn’t said anything, thinking it was premature.

She and Cade hadn’t discussed ahead of time what he’d told his family about her.

Rose sat on the back porch, drinking coffee, having awakened early with a lot on her mind. Keegan would be awake soon and they’d start their morning routine. She enjoyed the moment of quiet until they had to hustle to get out the door.

She heard a truck pull into her driveway. Cade?

She walked through the house to see Cade on her doorstep. She opened the front door before he could knock.

“Hey,” he said, a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
