Chapter 23: Rose Meets Cades "Family"

Rose had agreed that she would meet Cade’s family. She’d exposed him to hers and now he was returning the favor.

Keegan was at daycare and Rose had to admit she was excited to spend some time with Cade.

“This is a business agreement. There are no emotions involved.”

She hoped that her heart would read that memo every day. She couldn’t afford to fall in love, but Cade was tempting. The idea of looking at this as a fling crossed her mind, but she had Keegan to think about. Things could get too complicated too quickly.

She sat on her porch because the day was a little warm. Cade pulled his truck into her driveway then walked to her.

“You ready?” he asked.

“Should I be worried?” she asked, getting to her feet.

“No, but I have a big family.”

She nodded. Since she was an only child, this would be different than what she was used to. “Where do you live?”

“Out in the woods, but we’re all together.”

“Like a compound?” she asked.

“Something like that.”
