chapter 3

The man called hans günsche was a quiet man.

He was cold but compassionate.

Vicious, yet kind.

He was strong, yet he was weak.

However, he was not always like this.

Back when he was 60, he had received word from his parents that he now had a little sister. The boy was overjoyed and so excited that he rushed home.

He loved his little sister dearly.

Her name, was lina günsche. Like him, she was a natural werewolf. She was incredibly kind and he was always so different towards her.

He was well known to be cold and unfeeling by others, yet, he didn't care. All that mattered was his family.

But, there was one fateful day that changed everything.

The day that lina died

So did a part of hans günsche

It was a normal day, just like any other. Hans was playing with his little sister, he had a small smile on his face as she ran towards him.

Then...

A Bullet flew through her head. And in that moment, hans' face was one of terror as he watched his ten year old sister fall to the ground lifeless.

"lina!" He rushed towards her and held his head to her chest...

She was already dead.

The bullet flew back around and went flying towards his head, but he caught the bullet in between his fingers. And he crushed the bullet.

The enraged werewolf turned to where he smelt the gunpowder and saw a woman in a suit, musket in hand with an army in front of her.

An army of ghouls.

But hans didn't care whether there was an army or a single man.

He just wanted her dead.

But a gas began to fill the air and hans turned to Mist before his eyelids felt too heavy. He moved over to her and materialised his wolf head and tried to bite off her head but she dodged and he only got her arm...

And a massive dose of anaesthetics hidden in her sleeve.

Just like that... hans günsche had been defeated.

From that day onward, he was the dog of millennium with an obedience chip placed into his heart so he could not disobey.

The best he could do was hold back as he was forced to work with his sisters killers.

To do heinous things

He had no choice

But onto lighter matters, hans günsche after yesterday's ordeal was staying in team RWBY's dorm. Hans thought it was a bit odd to put him in a room with a bunch of girls but he didn't question it, they had been gracious enough to allow him to even stay with them.

Currently, he was in the kitchen making breakfast with kommandant. It was an odd sight because both of them were 7ft 1 and both were wearing aprons that didn't fit their attire. Especially hans who was shirtless as he hadn't gotten his coat back yet.

Kommandant was wearing a bright pink apron with the words 'mother knows best' on it.

And hans' apron wasn't much better. It was a bright yellow apron that said 'number 1 dad'.

Both were in a competition on who could make better pancakes and had attracted quite the crowd with the speed at which they were cooking.

"wasn't that grimm trying to kill him yesterday but now they're competing in cooking?" The boy was completely confused, and ignorant of kommandants plan.

Kommandant was able to feel his lieges emotions when he was reliving his memories.

He did not like those feelings.

So he decided to distract his liege through cooking. Needless to say, it worked.

Weiss soon walked in with hans' coat in hand alongside a very drowsy Ruby.

It was currently 7:00 and usually Ruby wouldn't be up this early but she smelt the food and wanted some.

But, she didn't expect this.

Neither did weiss.

But neither of them disliked getting a view of his muscles. Both of the two cooking finished making their last plate after sufficiently feeding the devourer of pancakes.

Ruby and weiss walked up to receive their breakfast and hans handed his to Ruby while kommandant's went to weiss.

Both took a bite and loved it.

"ah, so sweet!" She screamed out despite the time.

"this is better than the food back at the manor... far better..." The huntress in training muttered to herself.

"what's with the aprons?" Ruby was a curious girl, though anyone would be at the sight of a 7ft 1 man with a stern expression wearing an apron that was something her dad would wear for a laugh.

"only ones we could find." He wrote before taking the apron off. Both of them blushed at such a close-up view of his muscles.

"here's your coat!" Her face was very red and she would very much like for him to cover up, which he did after taking the coat. There were noticeable stitch marks left on the coat, but he was at least grateful to have it fixed.

"thank you."

'it's been a day since I lost connection with that humanoid grimm I put in the emerald forest.' The witch looked at her pawns sat at the table.

"cinder. Have you heard anything unusual in Vale?" Cinder was clearly suprised at being directly asked, but she wouldn't falter before her majesty.

"no, I haven't heard anything. Although... no, it's not important."

"tell me Cinder, what isn't important? Is it to do with the wound on your leg?" She froze up at the statement.

"yes... I encountered a very tall man in a large coat. He had two pistols with very long barrels. He fired three times, I blocked the first two but the third tore straight through my aura." Salem was visibly calm, but internally suprised.

'tore through her aura? Could his weapon be able to destroy souls?'

"your majesty, might I suggest that he be labeled as a threat that should be avoided?" The mustaches scientist piped in.

"yes. Until more is known about his abilities he is to be avoided." Her minions were silent.

The queen's decree is absolute after all.

As the security guard of beacon, my job involves patrolling the school for any break in's and other problem. But, its much simpler just to watch the entrance from this balcony due to its wide sightline.

I heard someone stomping their way over and could smell weiss.

"oh, hello hans." I turned around and looked to see a very upset weiss. I pulled out my notepad and pen.

"you seem angry. What's wrong?" She sighed heavily.

"it's just... I think that I should have been the leader of team RWBY."

"has ruby been a good leader?"

"no! She's just... so childish." The heiress wore a scowl on her face at the thought of her leader.

"anything else?" I questioned curiously yet confused.

"no... not really."

"has she even had a chance to lead? If she hasn't, how can you judge her as a leader if she hasn't had the chance. Leaders are often inexperienced in the beginning." I gave her my opinion that I had learned from my... experiences.

"but I deserve-" I raised a finger to silence her before I wrote again.

"you don't simply deserve to be a leader. You must earn the right to become a leader. But, if those that you lead are incompetent or refuse to comply, how can you even be a leader? Take me for example, if I treated you like dirt, would you follow my orders?" She scoffed at the notion.

"of course I wouldn't!"

"but you're always rude to Ruby? How can you expect her to be a leader if you refuse to let her be one. Arrogance is something that can cloud your judgement. For example, you may believe you are better than someone, and that causes you to completely ignore their opinion as if they didn't say anything in the first place... I'm rambling aren't I?"

"a bit, but you're making a lot of sense." I nodded and started to speak my mind about the beliefs and things I've learnt in this world.

"pre-existing beliefs are the cause of many problems. Take the faunus for example, I've read that due to discrimination and belief that humanity was superior, the white fang was formed. Initially a peaceful organisation but later became much more violent after sienna Khan took over."

"so... what you're saying is, the white fang were essentially created by humanity?" I nodded my head. "So all the suffering that they caused my family... was our own fault?" She started to tear up at the realisation.

"explain please." The heiress nodded.

"my... my father allegedly uses faunus slaves. I always wondered why all the butlers except klein looked at me with such hatred. But now... their hatred... its makes sense. One of the butlers... he scarred my stomach. All because I asked him a question. Hans... will i grow up to be like my father?"

Tears were running down her face by now. I pulled her into an awkward hug due to the almost 2 full feet height difference.

"become... who... you want... to be... other people... don't choose... who you... become... you... do..." She looked me in the eyes with shock but then she smiled.

"th-thank y-you hans." She pulled away from the hug. "I... I'm going to go speak to Ruby." I nodded my head, well aware that it was an excuse.

She quickly ran off at high speed, newfound determination in her eyes. The growl of my stomach reminding me that I hadn't eaten.

'now that I think about it... I've never tried ice cream. Lina loved it. I have a two hour break around now... ozpins rather generous.'

Weiss schnee was stood outside her room with a noticeable blush on her face.

'what is this feeling? Why do I get so flustered from a simple hug? Am I... in love?! No! Bad thoughts weiss! He's a grown man! He's a lot older than me.' Unkown to weiss, someone was watching this little freak out. Two people to be precise.

Kommandant and yang

They stared at each other with a knowing look...

Before fist bumping

"I think you know what the objective is?" Kommandant nodded eagerly.

I was stood outside of an ice cream shop and waiting in line when I noticed a very small woman with pink and brown hair, a white and pink outfit along an umbrella.

She seemed to notice me staring and invited me over to her booth. I walked over and sat across from her. She pulled out a... scroll? It was the same object ozpin pulled out when we first met and I could hear noises of buttons being pressed.

"care to explain why you were staring at me, handsome?" I pulled out my notepad.

"I though that you looked like that neopolitan ice cream on the menu." She nodded her head as she wrote more.

"I understand, but are you mute? You don't speak just like me."

"I am not mute. But I prefer not to speak due to my hoarse voice."

"makes sense. Anyway, what are you ordering?"

"I don't know. I've never eaten ice cream." She slammed her hands onto the table and looked at me with wide eyes.

"you've never eaten ice cream before?! How!?" She quickly asked, only typing with one hand. The hetochromatic girl was utterly confused and equally flabbergasted.

"i never bothered with such things."

"then it's about time for you to bother!" The dual coloured girl rushed over to the counter and I waited for a few minutes before she came back with two cups of neopolitan ice cream, 3 scoops each and two spoons.

"oh, I forgot. I'm neo. Whats your name?" The girl looked at me curiously.

"hans günsche." I took a spoon and scooped up some before taking a bite. 'Hm, incredibly sweet. I see why lina liked this. She always did like sweet things.'

I began to notice staring and looked to see that many people were staring at us. Upon me looking at them, they swiftly turned away.

"so, what do you think big guy? Is it good? It's the best isn't it?"

"i wouldn't say its the best, but it is enjoyable. Much more than most other sweet foods." She nodded her head with a joyful look on her face.

"ah, well, I've got to get going, call me, handsome!" She handed me a piece of paper with her number on it before promptly dissapearing.

'huh, seems I need to get a scroll.' I though to myself while looking at the empty glass of ice cream.
