Suddenly hugging her for dear life

When Nicole opened her eyes to find herself in the hospital bed, she sighed, ''I ended up in the place I hate the most''

She didn't see anyone else in the ward when she sat up and looked around. She was in a private ward and couldn't remember anything that happened the previous night. She wondered who she had called in her desperate state and how that person was able to find her.

Lizzy walked into the room and saw Nicole awake already. She dashed towards the bed and gave her a tight hug saying, ''when did you wake up? You scared me so much last night. I almost thought you were going to die because of me''

''I won't die that easily. Don't worry, but, who brought me to the hospital? Who did I call last night?''

''Leo was the one who brought you to the hospital. He is the one you ended up calling''

''Leo? You mean your Leo?'' Nicole frowned and looked at Lizzy, 'right, he was the last person who dialled my number. That must be why I was able to call him first. so, where is he?''

''He went out to. He was speaking on phone and told the other person he couldn't be at work today. I guess he took the day off to take care of you''

''No way. We are just strangers''

''Leo remembers you, Nicole. He called your name a couple of times last night. You should have seen him. He was so anxious and kept bugging the doctors because you wouldn't wake up even after your fever subsided''

''Is he the one who brought me into this private ward?''

''Oh, so you see he isn't so heartless like you think?''

''Well, I give that to him but, still it feels weird that he is the person who ended up saving me''

''I know, right?'' Lizzy sat on the bed, ''maybe you two are meant to be''

''You and this talk again. Didn't I tell you I am not interested. Lizzy, you better put your priorities right, okay?''

''Okay'' Lizzy frowned and glared at her.

The door opened and Leo entered. He closed the door and stood at a distance looking at her. Nicole saw him and turned to look at Lizzy.

''Look, he must have gone to buy you breakfast'' Lizzy pointed at the breakfast set bag in Leo's hands and Nicole nodded with a smile.

''I guess he did''

''Who else is in this room apart from you and me? You were talking to someone, I heard your voice at the door'' Leo looked at her suspiciously before he went to place the food on the table.

''Someone would think I am a thief with the way you are looking at me'' Nicole scoffed and Lizzy chuckled, 'what are you laughing about?'' she asked her and Leo turned to her.

''Who are you talking to?'' he asked her again.

''You must already have your own predictions so why bother to ask?'' Nicole looked at him. Leo suddenly felt a chill and wrapped his arms around himself.

''Is there really someone else in here besides the two of us?''

''Oh, there she is. Over there'' Nicole pointed at Lizzy and Leo almost screamed. He moved closer to Nicole and subconsciously held her hands. Nicole chuckled at his reaction and turned to Lizzy, ''does he have a weak heart? He is scared already''

''I guess the experience at the graveyard took a toll on him'' Lizzy said and looked at Leo, ''but he was always brave before''

''Look at him clinging unto me, does he look like someone who is brave?''

''I am brave'' Leo said and stepped away.

''Really?'' Nicole looked at him calmly, ''so even if I tell you that your fiancée is right beside you now, you will still be brave?'' the moment Nicole said those words, Leo hugged her. Her body stiffened and her ears turned red.

Looking at them, Lizzy clapped her hands and started laughing uncontrollably especially when she saw Nicole's reddened face.

''You…'' Nicole tried to push him away but he held on tightly and even wrapped his arms around her neck.

''You brought this upon yourself'' Lizzy said to her and laughed.

''This isn't funny, okay. Look, Mister, if you don't let go right now, I'm going to file a complaint at the police station and get you arrested for sexual harassment''

Leo finally let go and stepped aside before apologising, ''I'm sorry. I am afraid of supernatural things''

''It's not going to be easy convincing him, Lizzy. He is already scared even as it is'' Nicole looked at Lizzy.

''I think so too, but there is no rush. We can take things slowly. What matters is that there is a little progress between the two of you''

Nicole shook her head and turned to Leo, ''it's that for me? I am quite hungry''

''Yes, I didn't know what you wanted to eat when you woke up so I went home and made millet porridge for you''

''You made it yourself?'' Nicole asked him and he nodded his head.

''En, I made it myself. Which restaurant will open by this time?''

''You are right''

''Why did you suddenly call me last night? Where was your boyfriend? His girlfriend was sick and passed out and he wasn't there to save you?'' Leo removed the flask from the bag as he asked.

''He is not my boyfriend'' Nicole looked at him.

''Are you two having an open relationship?''

''I just said he isn't my boyfriend. are you ears fried?'' Nicole shouted at him.

''No need to be angry. I was just curious because of the way he behaved at the cemetery'' he poured the porridge into a small bowl and added a spoon. He pulled the chair closer and sat down ready to feed her.

''Wait, you are not thinking about feeding me that, are you?''

''I am''

Lizzy sat on the bed with Nicole and smiled watching them bicker.

''Why? Are my hands not working?''

''You have one hand connected to the IV and another bandaged because you hit it against your bed and got hurt. Tell me, which hand are you going to use and eat?'' he asked and Nicole looked at herself and cussed. She had really forgotten of all that.

''But, still, it feels weird to be fed by you off all people'' Nicole said frowning.

''Why, is it because I rejected you back then?'' he asked and looked at her.

''What? You… those are the words I hate to hear. What do you mean you rejected me? I didn't even confess to you back then, so technically you didn't reject me''

''Lizzy confessed to me on your behalf''

''That is that. just don't spout that nonsense again'' Nicole warned him with a pointed finger.

''Open your mouth'' he said to her, holding the spoon he had filled with porridge.

''Huh?'' Nicole opened her mouth and took the porridge in. Her eyes lit up, ''hmm, this is good''

''Leo is quite a decent cook'' Lizzy said to her.

''This is good'' she nodded looking at Lizzy.

''Eat a lot if it is good. You look skinny. I was afraid I might accidently break your bones when I lifted you yesterday'' Leo said to her and she flushed.

''I am not skinny'' she retorted.

''You are skinny. You only eat oats and drink hard liquor. You should start eating healthy foods'' Lizzy reprimanded her.

''I eat healthy. I just find it troublesome cooking food when I can't even finish it. oat is faster to make and it keeps me in shape''

''You mean this kind of malnourished shape?'' Lizzy asked looking at Nicole's thin hands.

''I…''

''Listen to me on this one, Nikki. You need to eat right to be healthy. I know it isn't easy on you but if you don't look out for yourself, who will? I am worried about you'' Lizzy said sincerely.

''Enough!!! Stop nagging like my mom. I will start eating healthy, are we good?'' she asked Nicole as her eyes swelled up.

''Why are you crying? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry'' Leo removed tissues by his side and gave to her saying.

''I am not crying because of you. Lizzy is being annoying. She just won't stop nagging me'' Nicole took the tissues and wiped her face. She blew her nose and sniffed.

''You… really can see Lizzy?'' Leo asked her and she nodded her head.

''Yes''

''Where is she, where can I find Lizzy?''

''She is here with me''

''Really?''

''En''

''I don't want to meet him right now'' Lizzy suddenly said.

''Huh? Why?''

''I still have somethings to do first. granny said there is something I must learn before I use your body again or I might end up getting stuck in your body. When that happens, it will be dangerous for you''

''I know, Granny told me that our bodies are similar, so your soul might end up fitting perfectly with mine, so it's best for her to find out how to make you have more control of your actions when you are using my body''
