In the fae kingdom Queen Lorianna had dismissed all of her aids from her chambers. She paced the floor.
"What is bothering you?" A low voice called out from the shadows.
Queen Lorianna froze in her steps. She was not expecting him to be here now, not since she had just sent Evelyn away. "Hamlet," she gasped. "What are you doing here?"
"I couldn't stay away. Not since you sent that girl away," he purred in her ear. His hand came up to her throat. "I expected you to stall her, not send her on her way."
Queen Lorianna gasped for air. Her hands scratched at Hamlet's. "If I was to keep her here she would grow up too quickly. Now she will not have that advantage any more," she said as she tried to catch her breath.
"You had better hope that is the case," he growled. "I cannot afford to mess things up with your sister," he warned.
