After the four counties of Alsace had fallen, the King of the Ancient Tomb immediately sent his troops deep into the Royal Capital of Alsace. Although there were many mountainous terrains before reaching the capital, where castles and towers were abundant remnants of the long-standing warfare with other countries, much of it had been dismantled during the reign of Henry VII. Still, a considerable number of defensive structures remained.
In fact, the original four counties on the border of Alsace were important frontier strongholds, but because of mismanagement and the negligence of the nobles, they were easily conquered.
However, the subsequent barriers and challenges would determine the outcome of the war.
