The Bridge

That morning, Dahlia woke up after having some sort of encounter with her "mother". It had been several months since she last saw any vision of those strange people clad in white garments. This encounter, however, was much different than any other from the past.

She could see, feel, and hear everything as if she were there experiencing every moment of the vision in real-time... and this time, she came back having her answers.

...

"It's been a while, child." The strange woman welcomed Dahlia with a smile. It was the first time her face was in full view and Dahlia nearly stumbled backward in shock looking at it. It was as if she was staring directly into a mirror and looking at an older version of herself.

"Who... who are you?" she asked, her voice trembling from the sheer resemblance between them.

The woman smiled and handed her a cup of tea. "I'm sure you already know the answer to that." she sipped on the contents of her cup.
