"Wow, look at this library. It's full of books on mystic arts." I exclaimed as I looked at all the books in front of me.
The current librarian chuckled, seeing my excited face. "Welcome Mr. Arjun. Ancient One has already informed me about you."
I smiled and nodded at him. I then asked "what should I start with?"
"Do you have any knowledge of mystic arts before?" He asked. I shook my head in answer. He nodded and picked up some books for me.
"These are for beginners. They have detailed information about mystic arts. You must know about mystic arts before you start practising it." He said.
I nodded at him. I know it, too. I wasn't impatient to learn this mystic arts.
I left the library and went to my room with the books. I also started reading them.
'So there are three ways a person can gather his energy from. From the atmosphere, his own, and lastly from dimensional beings by making a contract with them. But the last one is forbidden as most dimensional beings are dark creatures.'
'But I will be fine with my own energy. I have plenty of them'
After reading the books, it was practice time. Ancient One herself showed me how to conjure a spell. She was really patient and explained in detail without hiding anything from me.
"Take this ring and give it a try yourself." Ancient one said while passing me a sling ring.
I took the ring and put it on my left hand and did as she said. The first spell I tried was, of course, the dimension gate.
I moved my hand in a circle motion. As soon as I did that sparks started to form in front of me. Just when I was about to succeed on my first try, the ring turned into dust.
Ancient one looked at the ring and said "we need a stronger ring for you, Arjun." She chuckled and took off her sling ring and said "try this one."
I put on her ring. It was a golden ring. I then tried again, and this time, it went smoothly. I succeeded in making a portal.
Ancient one smiled and nodded. She wasn't surprised that I succeeded on the first try. Instead, she would have been surprised if I couldn't make one on my first try.
I was excited to see the portal. As this portal would make my future travel easier.
I then took off the ring and passed it back to her while thanking her. Ancient one took back her ring and said "I will prepare your ring and pass it to your room. Until then you can read the books and deepen your knowledge."
I nodded and agreed with her. We then continued to drink our tea and chat about Mystic Arts. She has gained a lot of knowledge in her long life.
"Why is there only one supreme sorcerer in this universe?" I suddenly asked
"It's not that there is only one. There are a lot of sorcerers who are very strong and are close to me in power. But only the strongest can be called supreme sorcerer." She replied without any pride or arrogance.
"So, if I challenge you and win, then I can be the supreme sorcerer?" I asked, grinning.
"Yes, but it must be a battle of magic. There are beings who are thousands of times stronger than me. But it is still I, who is the supreme sorcerer." She replied smilingly.
I sighed and agreed with her. Defeating her in mystic arts was not something I could do so early. But that didn't mean I wouldn't be able to later.
"Do you know a place called Narnia?" I asked while sipping from my cup.
She looked confused and thought for a few seconds and shook her head and asked "no, I never heard of this place."
I chuckled inside and looked at her bold head. She actually looked very beautiful in that universe. But here, she was a monk who could even resist my charm.
I then created an image of the lion and the four kings using fire and created Jadis and her henchmen using ice. I then started to tell her the story of Narnia.
Ancient One listened to my story attentively. She was fascinated by the story. With the visual 3D image, she felt like she was experiencing the adventure herself.
After the story ended, she commented "it was a good story. But why did you make me the villain?"
"It's not you. A different person." I replied
She replied "but she looks like me, uses magic like me, and is also very old."
I laughed when I heard her. I then said "then think of her as another version of you in a different universe."
She sighed, hearing me. I created a small ice figurine of Jadis using eternal ice coffins and gave it to her. I then got up and said "keep that. It's a thanking gift for showing me the spells. I will go and read the books."
She took it and nodded. She looked at the figurine curiously. Because to her, this ice itself felt different than normal ice. And she felt that it won't melt even if she used fire on it or kept it for thousands of years.
She looked at my back with curiosity and murmured to herself 'who are you exactly?'
