"She looks to be a mere human, are you sure she's the one?"

"Are you doubting me? Obviously, I know which vessel wields my power," with a slight smirk, the woman and her companion watched as a small child sat in a field of grass with her knees pressed to her chest, "she may not look like much right now but that will change soon."

Almost as if she could hear them, the girl instinctively turned her somber gaze to the large oak tree where the pair was perched; her eyes, the color of emeralds, focused on a nearby leaf as it fell into the palm of her outstretched hand before swiftly being swept away by the warm autumn breeze.

"I hope so Kali, the fate of this world rests in her hands..."

With a roll of her eyes, the women watched on intently as the child sat alone in the tall grass. Her hair was an unnatural shade of orange and despite being braided back into two, thick braids it was barely being contained. Messy curls fell from the braids and a tiny hand came to push them away as a single tear slid down her now pink cheeks.
