12 Stupid man

In the metropolis of New York, at the five-star hotel. There was a woman in her late 40s with black hair that was perfectly bunned. Her youth does not excuse her age; rather, it only demonstrates how well-cared for she was when she was younger. She was standing at the balcony holding a glass of red wine and staring at the city lights. The ring of her phone broke up her peaceful calm.

The woman gave the phone a quick check before frowning. She quickly scanned her surroundings to see if anyone was there. She responded after it was made evident that she was alone.

She responded in a low voice, "Are you STUPID?! calling me at this hour and with my personal number?... you know that I'm with my husband.

A male voice with a low, deep voice responded. We have an emergency. The plan failed. I'm sorry, Madam.

The woman clenched her teeth at the news and dug her red fingernails into her palm, "What do you mean failed?"

The man on the other end of the line sighed, hesitant to continue because he already knew that he would be singled out for blame for the failure. Nonetheless, he still had to report everything.

"It appears that the engagement went well, and the old master is very happy with it, because, Madam she's not drinking the tea."

"NO!!" the woman shouted upon hearing the report.

It looks like you're slacking off with your mission Alfred, she said, clutching her phone tightly to control her rage, "You know that it's not the result I wanted, I specifically ordered you to let her drink the tea with our drugs so she will lose herself during the engagement meeting.

Alfred apologized in a monotone voice, "I'm sorry madam, but the young miss was acting strange after we took her to the hospital on her birthday. She was calmer and collected after her release and even if I tried to provoke her, she just ignored it.

She pondered what Alfred would say as she made her way to the balcony railing. "Do you think she's already suspecting you or is she acting to win the old man's favor?" she demanded angrily.

"No, madam, it seemed like real emotion."

She was up to something again, that spoilt child will do anything to get what she wants, the woman smirked, "huh there's nothing genuine about that spoiled brat. Before she marries, we must carry out our plan quickly; otherwise, the old man might favor her, endangering the status of my daughter.

She continued, laughing as she imagined the spoilt brat going nuts, "Continue feeding her the medications, increase the amount if you have to. I don't care if she loses her mind in the process." She laughed loudly and said, "If she goes mad, we'll just put her in an institution. It's much better than circulating false things about her."

"But Madam, we also have another difficulty with reference to the drugs. Her maid appears suspicious about me and the tea," the man scowled.

"Listen to me, you dumb man. I didn't bring you to the house to expose us to your faults. You should be more careful. You know what to do with that idiot maid just destroy her and your problem would be addressed," the woman said, furrowing her brows.

Alfred sighed "Okay madam, I will do th-"

"No, I'll handle it myself because I want to see the look on that spoilt brat's face when I get rid of her personal maid and make sure no one in the mansion would defend her."

She continued, "Alfred, we will be returning in two days with my daughter, and I want everything polished; just make sure to let her continue drinking the drugs. I don't care what you do, just feed her the drugs Alfred," she said commandingly.

"I understand madam, I will make sure that she will drink the drugs no matter what"

"Good, I don't want any errors from your end Alfred. Remember our deal do your job properly"

"Noted Madam"

While gazing at the bright lights of New York, the woman on the balcony ended the call. but was startled when her waist was suddenly hugged from behind. She turned to face the early-fifties-aged man with the same robe as her and a loving smile on his face. He had black hair and amber eyes.

She questioned anxiously, "How long have you been here?" As she was scared that he overheard her on the phone.

When he closely hugged her, the man cocked his head and asked, "No, I just got here when you hung up the phone. Who are you talking to?"

The woman sighed in relief upon hearing that he didn't hear anything "It was butler Alfred from the mansion. I'm just checking on the preparation for our arrival. I don't want any mistakes, especially on the first welcoming banquet for our daughter and also I checked on our eldest daughter's engagement. Do you think she's mad at us? We are not present on her special day." She looked down to stare at her feet pretending to look upset.

"It's my fault darling I should have not invited you to come me here to visit our youngest daughter. Your elder daughter must be furious at me" she said covering the sneer on her face.

The man lifted her chin as she looked away from his sight.

"I'm lucky to have you, Isabelle, even though my oldest daughter sometimes treats you poorly, because you always respond to her bad behavior with kindness and concern."

Lethea La Roche, the eldest daughter of Themoteo La Roche, and her stepmother are both married to Isabelle Foyer, La Roche's second wife. Asia's diamond actress is known as Isabelle Foyer. At a banquet held at the entertainment event, she first met Themoteo.

In front of Themoteo she was a loving, caring, and kind-hearted stepmother to Thea but unknown to him there is a hidden darkness in her. After their birthday celebration of Thea a day before the engagement meeting at the La Roche Mansion.

Isabelle begged her husband Themoteo to accompany her abroad to check on their youngest daughter because she was worried about her daughter not answering her phone for two days. She was afraid that something bad would happen to her abroad.

But to Isabelle it was all an act, her main purpose is to have Themoteo not attend the engagement of his eldest daughter Thea. Isabelle knew that her husband would not say no to her. Nonetheless, Themoteo agreed and they left the home following Thea's 25th birthday.

All of it was planned by Isabelle to provoke Thea to hate her father further damaging their relationship which in the end Isabelle succeeded in the past years. Yet all her meticulous preparation was not functioning anymore as butler Alfred revealed.

Isabelle needed to have the old man favored and the only key to accomplish that is to make a path for her daughter Elizabeth to get closer to the old man. As an idea crossed her head, she smiled and turned to face her husband.

Despite the fact that she isn't really her daughter, the woman grinned at Themoteo and continued to lie, saying, "I have a sense that I'm abandoning her darling. She doesn't even answer her phone."

"She doesn't deserve your sympathy, Isabelle. That entitled brat has treated you poorly ever since we got married," the man groaned.

Isabelle grinned triumphantly, knowing she had gotten the response she was hoping for. "Don't say that sweetheart your eldest daughter is simply experiencing her rebellious stage which is typical at her age. Even Elizabeth understands her elder sister and yet supports her"

"I will talk to her when we get home. I would not permit that she kept on ignoring you and acting all mighty in our house," the man said, shaking his head. "Her misbehavior does not mean she could disrespect you."

Isabelle dried her phony tears as she yanked the arm of Themoteo. She replied, trying to hide her smirk, "Dear don't criticize Thea. I don't want her to feel that she did us wrong. And I knew it was all my fault, blamed me instead darling."

The remarks from his wife make him pleased. "How can I be blessed with two gorgeous and compassionate women, but my eldest has always given me a headache; I wish she behaved like Elizabeth, lovely and gentle."

While holding his hand and gazing into his eyes, Isabelle pretended to sigh and said, "Darling," all the while seeming to be thinking about something else.

Themoteo gripped his wife's shoulder in worry as he saw her in agony and pleaded with her, "What is it darling, just tell me."

Internally chuckling, Isabelle praised herself for her husband's acting prowess. She reasoned that all of her prior showbiz experience would be helpful in carrying out their plans.

Although Elizabeth doesn't show it because she understands it, she said in a voice that sounded like honeydew, "Actually our Elizabeth is a bit jealous of your eldest daughter. Your father seems to dote on her so much that he almost forgot that he has another granddaughter. I know she was still thirsty for your grandfather's affection and it hurts me to see our daughter begging for father's attention dear."

She fakes a timid smile on her husband to gain pity "Oh dear I should have not said it to you. Just forget it. I know Thea is your father's favorite grandchild"

Themoteo bit the tip of his tongue, "I don't know what my father was thinking. He already knew that Thea was a hard-headed stubborn brat but he kept on spoiling her which makes her more act fearless, don't worry dear I'll talk to father and let him know that he was neglecting his other granddaughter,"

"Oh dear that will make our Elizabeth happy. Do you know how understanding our daughter is? But I know she always craved her grandfather's attention," Isabelle grinned at her husband as she gave him a firm hug while feigning tears.

Themoteo stroked her on the back and gave her a hug. Unbeknownst to him, Isabelle has a big smile on her face as she quietly compliments herself on her acting abilities.

"Don't worry darling, I'll take care of it; let's go inside because it's becoming cold here."

Isabelle gave her husband a cautious grin and a nod.

When Themoteo's back faced her the timid smile on Isabelle's face turned abruptly into a smirk.

Looking at her husband's vanishing back, Isabelle muttered to herself, "Teo, you're still an idiot like the first time I saw you.
