PROLOGUE

A seer, prophet, shaman, or any other supernatural entity can see into the future. She had no faith in anything other than herself. She only had one wish in life: to live happily ever after with the people she adored. What was the source of the troubles? A good job, a husband who only looks at her, and two beautiful children who will rock her world. Was it really that hard to ask for?

Aurelia clenched her fist around her stomach, which felt empty and flat once more. What happened to her? She never caused anyone any problems and always did what was expected of her. Was she being punished for something she didn't know, or for something else entirely?

Why was she in this predicament now? Tears streamed down her cheeks, as they had for the previous week. She was incredibly happy one minute and bleeding profusely the next, and she had just lost one of the things she had longed for for four years.

Someone had caused her such pain, and she was determined to find out who. In recent years, she'd been incredibly forgiving. She wished for a peaceful life, but that was no longer an option. She was going to avenge, and if she died before she could, she would return as a ghost to punish whoever killed her.

Aurelia wiped her eyes with her handkerchief. This was the last time she was going to cry for anyone. She wasn't going to cry or show any sign of weakness until she found out who was to blame. She was certain of one thing she desired: power, but power was also linked to money and resources.

It was time for her to broaden her horizons and begin putting together an army. This was war, and she was going to do everything she could to kill the enemy and wipe them out, even if it meant shedding blood. But, first and foremost, she required a devoted soldier, and one was waiting for her just outside her hospital room.

Aurelia smiled for the first time since her tragic situation; this was going to be a lot of fun.
