A message

Zhu Yunqing contemplated silently for a while. Should she tell her or not? Was the question. But if she wanted Wei Chujiu to completely forgive and trust her once again, then she had to lay everything out. So, she outstretched her hand and showed Wei Chujiu her wrist with the cut mark.

Wei Chujiu's face darkened with anger. "Those bastards!!" she spat out furiously.

"They didn't do it," Zhu Yunqing faltered in her speech. "I... I did," she said. Her voice was almost inaudible, and her face downcast.

"What?!! How could you do that? Why would you do such a thing? Why would you want to throw your life away because of those scums? How can you be so stupid, Yunqing?!" Wei Chujiu berated her. She was utterly ticked off at how her best friend could do such a cowardly act.

"You need to calm down!" Zhu Yunqing said.

Wei Chujiu didn't seem to care anymore and just snapped, "Calm down! Don't tell me to calm down! How could you do such a thing?! Did you even think of Uncle and Aunty when you did that? Did you even think of how they would feel if they had lost you? And what about me? We won't have been able to make up! And how…" she blared off as she continued scolding Zhu Yunqing.

Zhu Yunqing seemed to have been robbed her of speech for a while.

'W-What have I gotten myself into? Where does she keep all that stored? Wait! That's not the point! I wasn't the one who tried to take her own life. I am the empress; why am I the one getting scolded?' she thought.

From memory, she assumed that Wei Chujiu was a calm and collected young lady, but this was totally the opposite. Although she could be bratty sometimes, but who doesn't have a friend like that.

Zhu Yunqing pressed her temples with her right palm. Then she motioned a stop with her palms facing Wei Chujiu to stop her from continuously barraging her with her scolding. Then she said, "Hold on, Okay! I won't ever do something like this again!! I know it was cowardly of me, okay. So just calm down! I….."

Zhu Yunqing was about to continue when a phone (Yunqing's phone) loudly chimed, interrupting their conversation. They both turned towards the sound and saw the light of the phone dim before going off.

Zhu Yunqing had to admit the means of a distant communication now was by far better than it used to be in her era. It was so much more advanced and faster than in her original timeline.

Zhu Yunqing quickly went to get the phone. She had learnt a lot of things from the memories she gained, and how to operate this gadget was one of them. So, using her fingerprints, she was able to unlock the phone to see a message.

Yu An Qiao: Let's meet! We need to talk!

A visible dark expression brewed over Zhu Yunqing's face. 'Hmph! Now she's getting her minion on my tail!'

Wei Chujiu could see the evident darkened expression on Zhu Yunqing's face. So she asked while walking to her, "What is wrong?"

Zhu Yunqing didn't reply to her question. Instead, she just turned the phone to her and showed her the message on her phone.

Wei Chujiu immediately scoffed upon seeing the message. What a friend indeed.

"Oh~~ did she really think that after you found out the truth, you won't realize she has been helping that bitch all along," Wei Chujiu sneered. After a quick pause, she asked Zhu Yunqing, "You do know that, right?" Her eyes narrowed with a skeptical look etched on her face as she spoke.

"Of course," Zhu Yunqing replied. She had understood so much from just the memories alone.

"Good!" Wei Chujiu nodded with approval. "So how are we going to deal with these two-faced slimy sons of bitches?!" Wei Chujiu asked.

"Are you going to meet with her? I don't think you should. She is probably going to come up with a bunch of lies again, anyway," Wei Chujiu suggested.

Since after Wei Chujiu's friendship with Zhu Yunqing was destroyed by them, she never saw eye to eye with either of them.

To Wei Chujiu, Tang Chonglin was a bastard! Zhu Yanyu was a total bitch! While Yu An Qiao, on the other hand, was a mere birdbrain, a complete airhead, who didn't even realize that she was being used by Zhu Yanyu.

"Heheh~ she should keep on dreaming if she thinks she can still continue to ride on your coattails. Someone as dumb as her who doesn't even realize that she is just an unimportant extra doesn't deserve to be even regarded as a person," Wei Chujiu continued.

It was as clear as day that she really hated Yu An Qiao. And her hatred was not baseless, especially as she found out that it was Yu An Qiao who suggested lying to Yunqing that she tried to seduce Tang Chonglin. When she found how the truth, she kept on wondering how the mechanism of Yu An Qiao's brain worked that she was able to devise such a dubious scheme.

Zhu Yunqing, who was silently listening to Wei Chujiu all this while, suddenly had a mischievous glint in her eyes with her puffy and plump lips curving to form a dubious smile.

The glint in her eyes and her smile definitely did not escape Wei Chujiu, so she asked, "What are you planning, dear friend?"

"Oh, ~~ nothing much. Just a way to ruin someone's plan. Or maybe two people," Zhu Yunqing replied slowly.

"Oooh… Tell me... tell me... tell me. I want to know everything! Can I help with anything?" Wei Chujiu squealed. She was obviously in support without even know the plans of Zhu Yunqing. She seemed to enjoy this new side of her best friend. She very much preferred it to her wimpy side.

Zhu Yunqing whispered her plan to Wei Chujiu, who had an indescribable expression on her face after listening to her friend.

"But… are you sure she would really do that? Are you sure it will work out?" Wei Chujiu asked skeptically.

"Of course! She is quite a follower of Yanyu, and I'm pretty sure I made her very mad yesterday. So this outing is definitely a way to deal with me. It's quite simple, but it would work!" Zhu Yunqing said confidently, smiling. She was quite sure she had no loopholes in her plan.
