My Life as a Wolf

I blink my sleepy eyes and look around. I begin to howl for my father for he is nowhere to be seen. A white wolf with black-tipped ears walks in and soothes me. Her name is Ylfa, she is kind and sweet. I like her very much, she helps my father take care of me and she gives me delicious food. She teaches me how to hunt and how to have fun. Father then tests my hunting skills and teaches me everything that he knows. I hang out with the other pups of the pack but they always make fun of my fur coloring, calling me a bumblebee, crybaby, and other mean names.

I ran over to Ylfa and complained about what the other pups are calling me. She says, "Assert your dominance. Show them that you aren't bothered by them calling you names. Make them cower at your paws, my powerful little friend."

I perk right up and say, "Thanks Ylfa! I'll try!" I then run off and attack the other pups, showing them why Ylfa calls me her "powerful little friend". They immediately stop calling me names and they cower at my feet whenever I catch them doing something wrong.

Ylfa taught me all the different kinds of howls we use, like the howl of war and the howl of joy. I enjoy hanging out with Ylfa but Father taught me everything he knew about the ranks in the pack and what they did.

"Your gonna be the Alpha one day so you have to know this kind of stuff my beautiful baby girl," he said. Then the flashbacks end.
