28 Rex's suspicions

Alanis. 

I pace around the room as the nerves kick in. This was a bad idea; I don't know what is happening out there and I am scared. I have never been this scared in all my life. 

There is a knock on the door. 

"Shit." 

I walk to the end of the door and hold the knob; Beau didn't mention that anyone was coming. I open the door slowly and a face peer up at me earnestly. I know him; he is Beau's friend. Rex. 

"Hey," he smiles through the door. I let go of the wooden door handle and he walks into the room slowly "Beau asked me to stay with you." 

So, he is worried too? 

"What's going on out there?" I ask because I am fucking curious. This is a defining moment for our relationship. The fact that he brought me here, means that he is ready to be with me wholeheartedly. I have been ready since the moment I met him.
