Journey on The Harpy

Nate was waiting years for this moment. He was finally able to ask his crush on a date. He saved enough money and planned the whole day years earlier. It was going to be a day before her birthday. He picked the girl in shorts and a white half sleeve shirt up at 17:00 and she had no idea where they were going. She kept asking him where they were going but he just said it was a secret. She was waiting for him all these years. Rejected every guy that asked her out. But he never did. He was always overthinking it. They went shopping in Marks & Spencer. Nothing much happened there and she was kinda disappointed. Olive bought some clothes and they bought snacks. She was surprised that they went to the airport afterward.

They went to Venice next, and they arrived at 20:15. They had a small walk in the fantastic small archipelago. The light flamboyant orange clouds in the grey-blue sky gave the mesmerizing spot of Piazza San Marco a romantic joyful ambiance. In front of the empty plaza, while she was fascinated by the view, he knew it was the perfect time to propose. Both his hands were clenched in his pockets. One had a ring wrapped in a small cylindrical wooden box. He panicked overthinking. What should he say? What will her answer be? Will she even say yes? It was already too late to think. Has he spent all these years planning for nothing? "Olive!" Nate said so suddenly. He was stressed but he couldn't care less about it. She turned to look at him surprised as she was focused on the beautiful sky. He quickly drew the box out of his pocket so that she couldn't see what it was. He rapidly changed his position from standing to kneeling on the floor with the box in his hands. Her pupil widened and her mouth gaped as he sputtered, "Hey, I know this might seem awkward and all. But I actually have been waiting years to risk our friendship and make it into a real marriage since Highschool. I had a hard time staying close to you after school was done but I think I'm finally able to say it. Will you marry me?". Olive had her hands cupped over her mouth to cover her obvious shock. She couldn't believe her eyes. Slowly, her head bobbed up and down in a nod, and she kneeled down, pushed the ring box down a bit, and kissed her now-fiancé.

The newly engaged couple then took a mini yacht to La Giudecca, a calm empty dockyard and residential area near Venice. They arrived by sunset. While the sky was a mix of beautiful colors, the water reflected its artwork in a vivid pink shade. All that time I spent on all the planets and universes, I was never fascinated by a scene nor saw something so naturally generated such as this sky. Not even fantastic could describe it, I never saw such scenery in fantasies. They walked in the small town of La Giudecca looking for somewhere to dine. They passed by a library and before Nate even realized it, Olive was rushing to that library. They entered the book shop. I made sure that the library was empty just for the two of them. It was already late so they wanted to get home back to London before midnight. They wanted to leave but it started pouring so heavily that they spent the next 2 hours reading books. Once back in London, he drove her back home in his E36. She hugged and kissed him and left the car. When he was back home, he couldn't sleep that night from excitement. He was excited looking back to all those years he's been waiting.

It was my first time writing romance so huge thanks to all my friends that kept helping me writing it.
