9. First Day Of Training

"This is a good place, I think," Ethan thought about it while rubbing his chin.

"Are you going to wait for them?" System asked puzzled. "Why in the world are you wasting your time on those idiots?"

"Oh, this is just an appetizer before a big meal inside the forest," Ethan replied with a soft smile. For System, this smile was like that of a devil.

"This guy is dangerous. I have to be careful not to piss him off someday," System thought and started praying for those unfortunate souls.

As Ethan waited for 10 minutes, the sound of footsteps came from the front. Ethan, who was sitting beside a tree, stood up and stretched his body.

In a second, they were standing in front of him and laughing wildly.

"Boss, look, because of fear he can't even move any further," one of the underlings said.

"Yes, boss, and now watching us, he is going to piss in his pants very soon," hearing this, everyone of them started laughing loudly, not fearing any beast. They thought their boss was a powerful supernatural being.

Actually, the most excited person was none other than Ethan, who had been waiting for this day for God knows how long. All the bullying and suffering he had endured during this time, he was going to get perfectly even by beating these people.

Ethan didn't say anything and just pointed his finger toward one of the underlings. Suddenly, fire burst out from his finger and turned into an arrow which shot directly toward an underling, hitting him precisely in the knee.

For a while, nobody could understand what happened, but when the person who got shot suddenly screamed hysterically, everyone sweated in fear and realized they were the ones in danger.

"Boss, he took down one of our men! He's a supernatural being, please boss, fight him and make him pay!" shouted the previous underling who was following behind Ethan.

But Delas, at this time, stood rooted to the ground, fear manifesting on his face. He could feel his body trembling with fear. He desperately wanted to ask for forgiveness, but not a single sound could come out from his mouth.

"You really are idiots, following him without knowing his power," Ethan said quietly. His hands didn't stop; arrows kept coming and so did the screams of these idiots. But Ethan held his hand to avoid crippling them for life.

After all of them were on the ground, Ethan stopped and walked in front of them. "Always remember, whenever you see me in the future, just run away or I will not be so merciful like today. Now get lost."

Hearing that he was not going to kill them, they breathed a sigh of relief and slowly stood up. Even though they felt like crying from the pain, they did not let out a single voice out of fear and limped toward the edge of the forest.

After finishing his business, Ethan ran to the inner area. Now there wouldn't be anyone coming between him and his training.

But just as he went inside the forest, a monster suddenly appeared in front of him, making Ethan stop in his tracks.

Ethan couldn't help but ask System, "What kind of monster is this?"

"I don't know, Ethan."

"How come System in the novels can tell which monster it is and what item it holds, and you don't even know a single thing?"

"Did you forget my name?" Ethan became speechless at the answer, but he didn't have time to reply because the strange monster was approaching them at full speed.

Due to not enough practice, Ethan couldn't accurately shoot the arrow. So he did a simple thing and used multiple arrows simultaneously, shooting towards the approaching monster.

As the arrows flew through the air, blocking the monster's path, it took hits in multiple places. Surprisingly, one of the arrows found its way to the monster's kneecap, making it cry out in agony when it came to a stop. Another arrow went into its eye, causing it even more pain.

Now the monster regretted fighting with this human and wanted to turn around and run, but Ethan didn't give up. He shot a third round of arrows, and the monster took its final breath.

Looking at the dead monster, Ethan brought out a book from his inventory and started flipping through it.

It was a book about monsters recorded in an encyclopedia, titled "Monster Encyclopedia."

After looking through it for quite a while, Ethan finally found a match.

"This monster is called a Lenticore, a hunter-type monster. It walks on two feet and hunts anytime day or night. It is very dangerous, especially its claws, which are very poisonous."

After noting some important points, Ethan closed the book and started walking further. The first thing he had to do was look for a natural shelter.

After walking for an hour or so, Ethan finally found a cave that belonged to some monster who had lived there long before he arrived, evidenced by the cave being full of dry leaves and no clearings where a monster used to sit.

After going inside, Ethan started cleaning the place a little. Well, he had to spend three months here, so it was obvious.

After finishing cleaning, Ethan went outside, gathered a lot of dry branches and leaves, and placed them all at the entry point so no other monsters could find his hidden place.

After completing his chores, Ethan took out some canned food and ate it with relish. All the canned foods were made of high-quality monster meat, so they were tasty and quite good for the body as well.

After finishing his lunch, Ethan once again left the cave for some monster hunting.
